Dear Ones,

Here are guidelines for community preparation for the HIV / AIDS pandemic …

Through schools, churches, social clubs such as Rotary and Lions Club, and in our immediate families, let us talk together about the current situation, and devise good strategies to meet the needs of our communities.

Let us make home means of testing for HIV readily available across demographics. I note that HIV tests are available in drugs stores such as Rite Aid for about $40.00. I suggest this alternative because of the social stigma connected with the HIV and AIDS ‘labels’.

It seems likely that statistics for women and children are greatly underestimated, as these groups until now have been considered as not being at risk. As this pandemic has begun to accelerate, such assumptions are not tenable. Women and children ought also be advised of risk, of testing procedures, and of treatment methods and prognoses, both traditional and alternative.

It seems likely, as the epidemic progresses, that traditional medical facilities will be overstretched. Let us look into the existence of and efficacy of alternative medical techniques such as homeopathy, healing tinctures and crystals, and energy rebalancing techniques, as well as alternative ways to bolster the immune system, such as healing foods and yoga.

Let us look to our schools and churches as possible places where care may be provided if hospitals should be overstretched. Making plans for such an eventuality, even though it most likely will not occur, will ease the minds of everyone in our communities, I feel.

With a better understanding of the course of epidemics (see “More Information” below) it becomes clear that the survival of human beings with resistance to the infecting agent is the key to the survival of the human race. Thus it becomes important to keep our HIV-infected populace … including HIV-infected newborns … alive and well cared for. Among them will be the resistant strain of humankind that lives on into the future and preserves our species, as was the case with the deadly influenza epidemic of the early 1900s.

Let us look with an open heart to everyone whose immune system has been weakened by the HIV virus. Let us understand that this is no longer a disease affecting only men who have intercourse with men, or people who use intravenous recreational drugs. Straight families will be equally affected … men, women and children across the board, all over America. Let us lift the HIV social stigma, so that we can talk with each other about the times of tribulation we are now facing.

Let us stand with Christ in these times. Let us look to the work of feeding the hungry, giving drink to the thirsty, clothing the naked, sheltering the homeless, visiting those in prison, and burying the dead. (1)

Let us stand as people of faith, hand in hand with the people of all faiths. Let us do what we can for all peoples everywhere, as this is a time of tribulation that crosses all borders and affects all nations, all races, and all cultures. Let us stand together, with and for each other, in the highest love and Light. Let us persevere through faith, in compassionate love, and in hope of a better tomorrow for all humankind.

In love, light and joy,
Alice B. Clagett

What If: Will the United States Become Less Centralized? . by Alice B. Clagett *

Written and published on 6 December 2019
Prior title: What If the United States Became Less Federal and More Regional in Government?

Dear Ones,

ECONOMIC STRESSORS THAT MAY LEAD TO DECENTRALIZATION OF THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT          top

I have some thoughts on the state of the nation. Intuitively, I sense economic stressors that may gradually lead to our Federal government taking a lesser role in the governance of the United States, compared to regional alliances of states. I see the Federal government continuing to provide military defense, social security payments, and leadership in foreign affairs. I also see states taking more initiative in economics for their regions.

As to trade, I see future reliance on established railroad routes and water routes such as the Mississippi river. I anticipate that, should there be a gradual lessening of Federal power, then there might be more trade within an economic region, and less trade globally and nationally.

As to finance, I see potential reliance on barter, with care no to place our financial assets in overseas locations. Local-employment based credit unions may come into favor as regional savings repositories.

There may be more reliance on those economic sectors that hold strong during recessions … such as locally grown food, locally obtainable building materials, and water supplies not piped in over long distances.

As to economic stressors, I suggest the overarching stressor of the COVID-19 pandemic, the economic impact of the HIV pandemic, and stress of regional aridity due to long-distance water transport costs,

A socially disruptive stressor is handheld psychosis, which may lead to chaotic events such as mass murders and actions by public utilities and military regarding perceived dangers that do not truly exist. This might precipitate social unrest in regions of the United States pinpointed by the Jade Helm exercises.

CAVEATS REGARDING POSSIBLE LOCI OF SOCIAL UNREST          top

In United States cities, the high cost of housing and the increasing phenomenon of homelessness may lead to social unrest and attempted land grabs through anarchist behavior; this is something for which, I feel, every large city mayor and every state government ought to have on hand emergency action plans. For states in arid regions, emergency anti-anarchist plans ought, I feel, to highlight security of water transport systems. Electrical grids, I feel, might also be an anarchist target.

We people in large United States cities can be of big help in creating peaceful environments for our children by offering our law enforcement departments volunteer help through neighborhood watch programs.

ON MAINTAINING A POSITIVE ATTITUDE IN THE FACE OF CHANGE          top

It seems unlikely to me that anything would happen in a moment; rather I feel that the United States might very slowly tend towards a model of government more akin to the state by state model of our early years as a nation. We may find, in future, that traveling from one state to the next is a refreshingly new experience. Not everyone may be watching the same thing on television every night anymore; there may be less airline flights from here to there; and so the natural flavor and local color of each region of the United States may become more striking to the casual tourist.

In addition, it may be that some regions of the United States may be more perilous for tourist travel, as was the case for travelers in the early years of our nation.

I realize the prospect of change can be unsettling. It is good to keep in mind that changes such as those spoken of above … if, indeed, change there be … would in all likelihood take place by slow stages, over the course of the next century or two. Thus I feel certain there would be plenty of time to make our plans and find our footing in the new.

POSSIBLE FUTURE UNITED STATES ECONOMIC REGIONS AND TRADE REGIONS          top

Below are some maps I have adapted to show possible United States economic regions and trade regions of centuries to come. I would be interested on your comments regarding this intriguing topic of the eventual possibility that the United States government might become less centralized, and more imbued with local flavor and with the strong spirit of our local communities.

Dear Ones,

I wrote up these notes in April 2018, with a hope that I would soon finish them off. More than a year later, I have to figure I may never get round to that. I apologize to my reader that they are presented here in outline form …

THOUGHTS ON PROVIDING STAGE ONE WORK FOR THE CALIFORNIA HOMELESS AT LESS THAN MINIMUM WAGE, IN EXCHANGE FOR SOCIAL SERVICES

I have a thought that Stage One work might be provided the California homeless at less than minimum wage, in exchange for social services such as State One housing, necessary medical treatment, food, and temporary housing.

I note we have precedents in paying less than the minimum wage, here in America: Commission sales work, work on small farms, and newspaper delivery, for instance …

Link: “When Must Employers Pay the Minimum Wage?, updated by Sachi Barreiro, Attorney, at NOLO … https://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/employers-pay-minimum-wage-law-29600.html ..

Prison Work Programs for Less Than a Dollar an Hour

Then there is the special instance of prison labor, where inmates have the voluntary option to work, for less than $1 an hour …

Link: “How Much Do Incarcerated People Earn in Each State?” by Wendy Sawyer, 10 April 2017, in Prison Policy Initiative … https://www.prisonpolicy.org/blog/2017/04/10/wages/ ..

Thus we have a precedent, in the exceptional circumstance of incarceration, for offering work at a great deal less than the minimum wage. Could we build upon this precedent by offering work training to our felons or released felons or homeless, at far less than minimum wage?

If the precedent might be stretched in this way, then we might have the setting for an economic bounce-back, here in California, as greater numbers of the currently unemployed are able to find employment.

Prison Release Work Camps. I am thinking that something like this might be good if, for lack of funds, we have to release the prison population. For those who are ‘unregenerate’ … to use an old-time term … work camps might be set up or ‘rough and tumble’ work might be provided as an alternative to imprisonment, at greatly less than the minimum wage. This topic I discussed in a little more detail here …

Link: “Ought the United States, like North Korea, Have Forced Labor?” by Alice B. Clagett, published on 21 May 2019 … https://wp.me/p2Rkym-cQw ..

A Stage One Consideration in Employing California’s Homeless at Less Than the Minimum Wage

Here is a Stage One consideration: Let’s try to figure out some way to get around the minimum wage, for people who are unhomed, and who are receiving extra social services, in the event the United States government is not able to participate, here in California, in ameliorating the situation, and easing the social unrest.

For instance, could we offer something more akin to prison labor … voluntary labor, and a very small wage, in exchange for housing and food and medical care? Could we offer that, in camps especially set up for that?

What would be the long-term situation with regard to those that California cannot now find work for at minimum wage, and who must find work? If employment at less than minimum wage in exchange for social services were to be offered as a temporary, short-term Phase One, then what would be Phases Two and Three?

THOUGHTS ON SLOWING THE SPREAD OF HIV AND AIDS IN PRISONS

On Isolating HIV-Positive Prison Populations in Cell Blocks, Together with HIV-Positive Prison Guards

In United States prisons, HIV tests might be used to separate the HIV-positive prison populations … and the HIV-positive prison guards … physically, from those prisoners and guards who are HIV-negative. These tests need to be performed every 6 months, as I understand it, and also one month after possible exposure to the virus. HIV tests might be made routine in prison medical facilities, not only for the safety of prisoners and guards, but also for the sake of the infectable law-abiding populations upon whom prisoners might prey, either as prostitutes or as sexual predators, after their release.

Conjugal Visits

I think that, to prevent the spread of HIV and AIDS amongst United States prison populations, we ought to consider allowing conjugal or significant other visits in our federal prisons, and in those state prisons that currently do not do so.

Conjugal visits might lead to less intercourse amongst inmates, and less intercourse between inmates and prison guards, so that HIV might spread more slowly amongst the prison population. I feel that conjugal visits might also lead to less violence amongst prisoners.

Such a policy also might help prisoners who have been in long-time-paired relationships to preserve those relationships while imprisoned. It might help families stay together through the financial hardship of imprisonment of a parent, and that might positively affect community life.

HUMAN TRAFFICKING OF IMMIGRANTS TO THE UNITED STATES, COMPARED TO THAT IN CHINA

I have been perusing the “CIA World Factbook” online …

Link: “World Factbook,” by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) … https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/ ..

… and have found it full of information pertinent to forestalling social unrest in California. For instance, from my reading, it seems to me that the human trafficking of immigrants to China from North Korea in our lifetime is, in some ways, analogous to the human trafficking of immigrants to the United States from Mexico.

How China Deals with an Influx of Minimally Employable People from North Korea

Apparently, there are masses of people in North Korea, whom the government forces into forced labor in China …

“… North Korea does not fully comply with minimum standards for the elimination of [human] trafficking and is not making significant efforts to do so; the government continued to participate in human trafficking through its use of domestic forced labor camps and the provision of forced labor to foreign governments through bilateral contracts; officials did not demonstrate any efforts to address human trafficking through prosecution, protection, or prevention measures; no known investigations, prosecutions, or convictions of trafficking offenders or officials complicit in trafficking-related offenses were conducted; the government also made no efforts to identify or protect trafficking victims and did not permit NGOs to assist victims (2015) …” –from Link: “CIA World Factbook, North Korea,” in the section: Transnational Issues … Subheading: Trafficking in personshttps://www.cia.gov/library/publications/resources/the-world-factbook/geos/kn.html … public domain

Korean people also may flee to China of their own free will so as to escape starvation …

“… risking arrest, imprisonment, and deportation, tens of thousands of North Koreans cross into China to escape famine, economic privation, and political oppression … –from Link: “CIA World Factbook, North Korea,” in the section: Transnational Issues … subheading: Disputes – International https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/resources/the-world-factbook/geos/kn.html … public domain

Those types of labor available to trafficked peoples sometimes may be beneath the level of misery that is acceptable here in the United States …

Link: “Trafficking in Persons Report June 2017,” by United States of America Department of State … https://www.hsdl.org/?view&did=801874This is a pdf download.

It might be prostitution. It might be illegal activities such as theft. It might be begging. They might be held by gangs that are ‘beneath the law’ and forced to be members of those gangs. This, to me, is unacceptable.

How the United States Deals with an Influx of Minimally Employable People from Mexico

The situation with immigrants from North Korean to China is analogous, in some regards, to the situation with immigrants from Mexico to the United States. Immigrants from Mexico are not forced by the United States government into inhumane kinds of labor, but they may find themselves in those kinds of situations … living In dug-out caves in the Earth, for instance. And doing seasonal, migrant labor. Or young women or children may find themselves forced into lives of prostitution by pimps.

One thing we might look at, going forward, is how job training might be offered new immigrants, here in the United States, so as to broaden the scope of job opportunities for which they are eligible. This type of job training is doubly beneficial: It helps raise the living standard of immigrants; and it helps lessen the spiritual burden of human trafficking in the United States and uplift our nation through good works in our community.

The philanthropy we offer those caught in the throes of human trafficking is a kindness we offer our children as well, for they will look forward to a better educated community through whose informed choices may be sculpted a brighter tomorrow for all America.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, I feel that Los Angeles in particular, due to such stressors as homelessness and released felons, faces the spectre of social unrest at present. What to do? I feel we must look at what other countries do when faced with these stressors. We must not turn away from innovative solutions simply because we feel they are beneath us, as Americans.

I feel it is because we feel this: that the lesser good we are able to provide the homeless and released felons is beneath us, and unworthy of them, that we have found ourselves for ten years to be in stalemate as a city.

We are unable to provide the level of benefits and care that has been, with hopeful optimism, voted into California law. Massive problems lie before us, and have done so for 10 years now. California is a Sanctuary State for those fleeing from downright extermination in the crueler states of our great Union.

Though we are that to many, we have not the funds to help those seeking sanctuary in the manner afforded the homeless, the helpless, those seeking shelter, food, and work in days of old.

Here in Los Angeles we must make bold to provide what we may to those who have nothing at all. Though it be against the laws of our nation, and against those of our State, we must do what we can. We must offer what we may. We must open our hearts, still our doubts, and come up with sensible, novel solutions to the new problems that lie before us.

Call for Action: Lower the Cash Price for HIV Medicines in California . by Alice B. Clagett

Written and published on 6 December 2019

Dear Ones,

Here are rough notes on the need to lower the cash price of HIV medicines in California. I note that the links from which I got the below figures may be updating their figures from time to time; the figures may look different on the date you read the blog …

As the lifetime treatment of HIV is about $367,000, and as I estimate the lifetime wage of the average American to be about $461,000, it is clear that the HIV bloom nationwide will make it difficult for families that test positive for HIV to meet their medical expenses.

In addition, there may come a time when Obamacare is compromised with regard to providing HIV and AIDS medicines to Americans. In advance of such a possibility, I suggest looking into lowering the cost of AIDS medicines so that they may be affordable to HIV-compromised patients, as cash outlay, and even without the relief of having medical insurance.

The question is, how may drug companies be prevailed upon to lower their costs so that they are affordable? Maybe our California legislature will come up with an answer for us? My prayer is that they may.

Community Health Call to Action: HIV Testing and Segregation in Health Care and Education? . by Alice B. Clagett

Written on 4 December 2019 and published on 5 December 2019

  • CALL FOR HIV TESTING AND SEGREGATION OF HIV-POSITIVE HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS IN SENSITIVE HEALTH CARE SECTORS
  • CALL FOR HIV TESTING AND SEGREGATION OF HIV-POSITIVE CHILD CARE, DAY CARE AND GRADE SCHOOL CARE GIVERS, EDUCATORS, AND CHILDREN

Dear Ones,

There is, I feel, an urgent need here in the San Fernando Valley, California, for testing and segregation of HIV-positive people in sensitive health care and education sectors  as follows …

CALL FOR HIV TESTING AND SEGREGATION OF HIV-POSITIVE HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS IN SENSITIVE HEALTH CARE SECTORS

In addition, at the present moment it is of great importance to monitor the HIV status of United States physicians, especially surgeons  and others who perform invasive procedures, and the HIV status of phlebotomists (medical technicians who draw blood).

We must decide, community by community, whether those in sensitive health care positions who test positive for HIV ought to be moved to less sensitive health care sectors; or whether they might be reserved for the use of HIV positive patients.

CALL FOR HIV TESTING AND SEGREGATION OF HIV-POSITIVE CHILD CARE, DAY CARE AND GRADE SCHOOL CARE GIVERS, EDUCATORS, AND CHILDREN

I have read that HIV can be transmitted through mucus or blood or semen contact … as through kissing or diaper changing, or through dressing open wounds, or through sexual intercourse . Thus I feel that it is of equal importance, at the present moment, to monitor the HIV status of child care and day care providers and of grade school educators and also of children starting with newborns, and on up through puberty.

As above, we must decide, community by community, whether to restrict HIV-positive early childhood care givers and grade school educators to care or education of children who are HIV positive, and whether to separate children into HIV-positive and HIV-negative groups in child care, day care, and grade schools.

Community Health: Zero Population Growth in the United States by 2079? . by Alice B. Clagett

Written and published on 4 December 2019

  • ZERO POPULATION GROWTH IN THE UNITED STATES BY 2079?
  • ON THE NEED TO RESEARCH ECONOMIC IMPACT OF POPULATION GROWTH DOWNTREND
    • Financial Sector
    • Health Care Sector

Dear Ones,

In light of the global HIV pandemic, I researched a United States population growth rate chart, to find out if perhaps the spread of HIV in the United States (as well as other factors) might be having an effect on population growth.

ZERO POPULATION GROWTH IN THE UNITED STATES BY 2079?

Here is the chart I found …

Link: “Population Growth for the United States (1960-2018)” … https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/SPPOPGROWUSA ..

As I saw a general downtrend in population growth, I took a look at a table on the topic …

Link: “Population of the United States (Current year and historical)” … https://www.worldometers.info/world-population/us-population/ ..

Here is a very rough extrapolation based on the tabular data …

In 1960, the yearly change in United States population was 1.69 %
In 1990, the yearly change in United States population was 0.95 %
In 2019, the yearly change in United States population was 0.60 %

In the ~60 years from 1960 to 2019, the decrease in the increase in the United States population was 1.69 % minus 0.60 % = 1.09 %

If this trend continues for the next 60 years, then there may be zero population growth in the United States population by 2079.

ON THE NEED TO RESEARCH ECONOMIC IMPACT OF POPULATION GROWTH DOWNTREND

In case this scenario should prove true, I feel it would be good to do workups on economic gear-downs for the various economic sectors, to do with man-hours available and necessary production.

Financial Sector

In the arena of finance, we might consider the impact of zero population growth on the stock market, on the value of a dollar, and on interest rates for the time span between now and the year 2109.

Health Care Sector

Should it be that the HIV pandemic is one of the driving factors in an ongoing decrease in population growth (as HIV couples are unlikely to have viable offspring), then the health care sector might want to consider the impact of HIV on medical care costs, on our ability to maintain necessary supplies of medications despite an aging and health-challenged population, and on the sustainability of the Obamacare program.

Dear Ones,

MISLEADING NATURE OF CDC HIV DATA

Over the years I have written quite a few blogs on the HIV / AIDS global pandemic. Chicken that I am, I feel I have failed to convey my feeling that the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) is releasing data about the pandemic that greatly misrepresent the difficulties that lie before us as a nation. Perhaps this misrepresentation is intentional; perhaps it is political in nature … and perhaps not. Who can say?

The crux of the matter is that the data the CDC typically presents to the public have to do with disease ‘incidence’ rather than disease ‘prevalence’ or ‘lifetime risk’.

‘INCIDENCE’ of HIV / AIDS

As I understand it, disease ‘incidence’ has to do with how many new cases will be diagnosed next year, or the following year. These data are important to medical doctors, so that they can have sufficient medications on hand for the coming year.

‘PREVALENCE’ or ‘LIFETIME RISK’ of HIV / AIDS

‘Prevalence’, or ‘lifetime risk’ offers data on the likelihood that we and our families will contract HIV / AIDS during our lifetime. These are the data that I feel are hard to find in the CDC documents. Yet these are the data that help us plan for our families’ future.

How Family Wealth Planning for Future Generations Is Affected by HIV Prevalence

For instance, if our children, according to ‘lifetime risk’ data, are likely to contract HIV / AIDS in their lifetime, then we might ask: At what age are they likely to contract the disease?

If they contract it in early childhood, from what I have read, it is apparently likely they will die from it at a young age.

If they contract the disease at about the age of puberty, from what I have read, it is likely they will be unable to bear offspring that live more than a few years.

If our children contract the disease while their children are young, then apparently the risk is high that their young children will contract the disease from their parents through suckling milk, or transmission of bodily fluids while the family has bouts of cold or flu, or through childhood play.

Whether or not our children will contract the disease before they bear children is, I feel, very important to each family’s planning for the future. If there are no grandchildren, then that will make a big difference in the wealth that must be set aside for future generations. In addition, health care costs and the economic impact of sick leave downtime for our infected children and grandchildren is a wealth planning consideration.

How May We Instill Hope in Our Families, Even Though They May Have HIV?

If the lifetime risk of contracting HIV / AIDS is high, either because of lifestyle choices, or because of race or ethnicity, or because of the city or state or region of the United States in which we live, then now would be the time to plan with our children and grandchildren for a future that may involve infection.

Our families need to have some hope to live for, even though they may be infected.

I will say that, in my opinion, the CDC does a great job of glossing over the downside, and providing the upside of life with HIV / AIDS. So families can go to their site to learn that life with HIV is no big deal in the United States, any more.

By that is meant, I feel, that for those who are able to tolerate the drug regimens that have been developed, the prospect of a long and productive life is good. And that is something that might offer hope to our children: They may find that they, or their friends, contract the disease.

Careers Despite HIV. Maybe they may not be able to have families of their own, but they can look forward to fulfilling careers, and maybe good health for quite a long time.

Continuing to Work Despite Blindness. I note that, as of 2001 10-20% of people worldwide who had AIDS were becoming blind in one or both eyes …

Link: “HIV / AIDS and Blindness,” by P. G. Kestelyn and E. T. Cunningham, Jr, Bull World Health Organ 2001, 79(3), 208-213 … https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2566369/ ..

Thus, as a nation, we must retool as many industries as possible so that our eyesight-impaired HIV-positive children can continue on with their careers even should they have low vision.
RECENT CDC FIGURES ON HIV LIFETIME RISK

Today I found a pretty good pdf file offered by the CDC, that presents lifetime risk and also age-conditional risk by race and ethnicity, gender, and state. The data are from 2009-2013 …

Link: “Lifetime Risk of a Diagnosis of HIV Infection in the United States,” by Kristen L. Hess, PhD, MPH, Xiaohong Hu, MS, Amy Lansky, PhD, MPH, Jonathan Mermin, MD, and H. Irene Hall, PhD, MPH, HHS Public Access Author Manuscript, Ann. Epidemiol. published in final edited form as: Ann Epidemiol. 2017 April ; 27(4): 238-243, doi:10.1016/j.annepidem.2017.02.003 … https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5524204/ ..

By clicking on the above pdf link you can download the document to your computer.

Of special note are the three tables at the end of the document.

Table 1. Lifetime Risk of HIV Diagnosis, by Sex, Race/Ethnicity, and Risk Group, United States

Gender Inequality in Testing for HIV / AIDS. I note the total lifetime risk for men is 1 in 68 people, and for women 1 in 253 people. I believe this has to do with gender inequality in testing for HIV / AIDS. I feel the perception in the medical community is that MSM men are at risk for HIV / AIDS, and so, I feel, doctors are more likely to test men than women.

As I have mentioned priorly, it could be that bisexual men who are dating or married to women and raising families are also at risk, and that their wives and families are at risk and fail to test for HIV – AIDS because they are uninformed about their boyfriends’ or husbands’ exposure to risk.

I would like to see equal gender testing for HIV / AIDS, especially among couples with children where the boyfriend or husband tests positive for HIV. Then the medical community might, a few years from now, reassess the total lifetime risk for women.

Lifetime Risk for Black Men Who Have Sex with Men. I note the lifetime risk of contracting HIV / AIDS is 1 in 2 men. The overall lifetime risk for men who have sex with men is 1 in 6 men. From this I feel that women who want to have families ought to ascertain, before becoming pregnant, whether the prospective fathers in fact prefer to have sex with men. I feel that societal expectations, especially amongst Christians, make it especially difficult for Christian men to disclose this bias to prospective wives.

Given this, I feel all women hoping to have children ask those men they want to be intimate with for HIV test results, keeping in mind that chastity for one month after the last sexual contact is necessary before tests such as Oraquick can provide relatively accurate results. The last I read in the fine print of the Oraquick package was that there was a 10 percent error in this type of saliva test.  HIV blood tests, while more expensive, are a good deal more accurate; they are the best the medical community can offer presently.

Table 2. Lifetime Risk of HIV Diagnosis, by State, United States

From this table, I note a big range of risks, state by state, and in the District of Columbia.

Great Disparity in Lifetime Risk, State by State. For instance, the lifetime risk in Maryland is 1 in 56 people. But the risk in Montana is 1 in 674 people. The other states are in between these two extremes, with Georgia and Florida on the very risky side, and Idaho and North Dakota on the ‘unrisky’ side.

The first thought along these lines, for families who are concerned about HIV infection, might be (and I agree it seems logical) to relocate to a state that has less lifetime risk of infection.

Possible Underreporting of Risk by States for Economic Reasons. Amongst the states, I feel it likely that there may be HIV / AIDS ‘underreporting’, and that this may have to do with the tourist trade, or perceived need to attract new business to one’s home state. If this is true, I hope lifetime risk reporting will become more accurate in the next few years, as our states owe it to their residents to offer accurate figures, so that families can take steps for disease prevention and health care.

Risk in Large Cities. I note the lifetime risk of HIV / AIDS is 1 in 17 people in the District of Columbia, which is the heart of one of our large metropolitan areas. In past blogs, I have asked for a breakdown of lifetime risk for our large cities, as the very high risk in the District of Columbia may in fact indicate high risk in other large United States cities as well.

Table 3. 10-Year Age-Conditional Risk (1 in n) of HIV Diagnosis Among HIV-Free Males and Females, Aged 20-50 Years, United States

Young Men Who Have Sex with Men Are at Greater Risk of New HIV Diagnosis. From these data I see that overall, it is four times more likely that men who have sex with men, and who are 20 years of age will get a new diagnosis of HIV than will men who have sex with men, and who are 50 years of age.

New HIV Diagnosis Risk for Young Men Who Have Sex with Men Varies Greatly by Race / Ethnicity. For black men who have sex with men, the risk of new diagnosis of HIV is 1 in 4 at age 20 and 1 in 26 at age 50. For Hispanic men who have sex with men, the figures are 1 in 13 at age 20, and 1 in 40 at age 50. For White men who have sex with men, the figures are 1 in 39 at age 20 and 1 in 79 at age 50.

New HIV Diagnosis Risk for People Who Inject Drugs is Much Less Than for Men Who Have Sex with Men. Also, I see that people who inject drugs and are 20 years of age are somewhat less likely to get a new diagnosis of HIV than people who are 50 years of age; and that the overall new diagnosis risk for people who inject drugs is, across the age spectrum, very much less than for men who have sex with men.

New HIV Diagnosis Risk for Young Women Who Inject Drugs Is Twice as Great as for Young Men. Overall, for men who inject drugs the new diagnosis risk is 1 in 220 at age 20, and 1 in 167 at age 50. For women who inject drugs the new diagnosis risk is 1 in 108 at age 20 and 1 in 112 at age 50. That would mean that amongst people who inject drugs, women 20 years of age are about twice as likely to get a new HIV diagnosis as are men that age.

Can We Extrapolate That HIV Diagnosis Risk for Young Women is Twice as Great as That for Young Men? As both men and women who inject drugs know they are at risk, it seems to me fair to assume they are testing for HIV in a gender equal way. Thus the figures for new diagnosis risk for men and women who inject drugs might help provide an answer regarding the true new diagnosis risk for women who fail to test because they do not know their boyfriends or husbands are having sex with men.

We might go with the assumption that women who are dating or married to men who have sex with men have twice as much risk of new HIV diagnosis as the men. Amongst 20-year-old men having sex with men the new diagnosis risk is 1 in 15. Projecting from the drug injection risk, 20-year-old women who have sex with men who also have sex with men might be expected to have a new diagnosis risk of 1 in 8 (twice as risky as for the men).

I arrive at this estimate by creating a similar ratio, like this …

  • New diagnosis risk at 20 for men versus women who inject drugs = 1/220 for men versus 1 in 109 for women (about twice as risky for women)
  • Extrapolating new diagnosis risk at 20 for men versus women in relationships where the man has sex with men = 1 in 15 for men versus 1 in 8 (about twice as risky) for women

Importance of Gender Equality in HIV / AIDS Testing of Young People. The above estimate highlights how important gender equality in HIV / AIDS testing may be right now, as regards testing for young women.

From the above estimate we might also extrapolate the number of men who are not disclosing their bisexual lifestyle. If in fact it proves true that twice as many young women as young men, overall, are getting new HIV diagnoses, then it seems to me possible that as many as half of American men are engaging in sex with men as well as with their female sexual partners and wives.

What otherwise would account for young women having a higher incidence of new diagnoses than young men? I have read online that many young women have sex with two men by about age 20. If one of these two had HIV, and gave it to the young woman, then her new male partner would be at risk of infection as well. If this were to be so, then the risk for young women might be from young men who also have sex with men. And the risk for young men might be from having sex with either young men who have sex with men, or from having sex with young women who have done so. Do you not feel this to be true?

If so, then the feat that lies before the medical profession would be to find the most effective way of gathering information from young HIV positive men regarding their female sexual partners, and of persuading the men to allow their female sexual partners to test.

Blessings to all,

In love, light and joy,
Alice B. Clagett

Dear Ones,

This is a call to action regarding the religious practice of mortification of the flesh, including self-flagellation, that some Christian denominations retain as a historical tradition. In noospheric tenor, these practices tie into the denser energy streams of sadomasochistic sexual practices and snuff sex that have, of late, ransacked the noosphere of Los Angeles, especially on the weekends.

Aside from the link-in with historic practices of fleshly mortification why is it that this relatively rare nuance of sexual behavior is such a standout in the Los Angeles noosphere of late? For more, I turned to this publication …

Link: “The Psychology of Sadomasochism: An Attempt to Explain Sadism and Masochism,” by Neil Burton, M.D., posted 17 August 2014, in Psychology Today … https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/hide-and-seek/201408/the-psychology-sadomasochism ..

From that I learned that many seemingly innocuous forms of behavior, such as tickling, infantilizing, and love-biting … and perhaps, I would add, taunting and bullying, as are oft found online these days … play into the darker, denser energy streams of the relatively recherché world of sadomasochism. Thus we are all, willy-nilly, for the most part unwittingly, involved in the clearing of these dense energy strands from the Los Angeles noosphere at present.

My appeal today is to those who are consciously able to choose whether they will add to these denser noospheric energies of sadomasochism. I make this appeal because, as an intuitive person, I find these energies very difficult to bear, especially on the weekends in Los Angeles, and most particularly so during times of solar storm … even geostorms as mild as that which we experienced last night …

Image: Kp Index 11 May 2019 18:30:02 UTC, by NOAA/SWPC Boulder, CO USA … public domain. One Level 5 bar spike indicates that a mild geostorm (lasting three hours or less) took place.

In order to keep our personal Body of Light (aura, or energy field) pure and bright, I feel it is important to avoid injury to the body, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit itself, in my sense of it, is injured by mortification of the flesh.

LET THERE BE NO RETURN TO THE KNIGHTS TEMPLAR OF OLD

It is the work of a Christian to discover the Grace of God within, or so I believe. What can be farther from that goal than the undercurrents that apparently evolved, over the centuries, in organizations such as the historic Knights Templar? Having read this no-holds barred account of that evolution …

Link: “The Dark History of the Knights Templar,” from “Knights Templar’s Saga” at theunjustmedia.com … https://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/sociopolitica/templars/knights_templars01.htm

… as well as this more tempered account …

Link: “Knights Templar,” in Wikipedia … https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knights_TemplarMore tempered.

… I have some concerns about the renaissance of the Knights Templar tradition by newly formed groups here in Los Angeles and elsewhere in the United States.

How is it that, in ages gone by, sincere members of devout religious orders have fallen prey to emanations of self-hatred and hatred of others through organizations founded for the best of reasons?

The answer, I feel, lies in the slight affinity aroused in the body to hatred of others through the practice of self-mortification …

Link: “Flagellation: Religious Practice,” written by Geoffrey Abbott, in Encyclopaedia Britannica … https://www.britannica.com/topic/flagellation ..

Through this ‘toehold’ of hatred of the body, flows forth into the noosphere hatred in all its forms: Hatred of women, abuse of children, envy at the sexual prowess of other men; hatred of this teaching or that of one’s own church, or of those of other Christian denominations; and finally, hatred even of the Light of God within, and turning to the abomination of Satanic ritual.

In the mid-13th Century, processions of self-flagellants took place in central Italy with intent to mitigate a devastating plague. In current times we face another such plague, the scourge of HIV / AIDS, which leaves those of our children who are so infected unable to produce viable offspring.

In our nation’s capital, Washington D.C., according to Centers for Disease Control statistics published in 2016, the lifetime risk of contracting HIV was 1 in 13 people …

Link: “2016 HIV Lifetime Risk Statistics from Centers for Disease Control,” by Alice B. Clagett, published on 30 March 2019 … https://wp.me/p2Rkym-c3f ..

Since 2016, no state-by-state statistics have been published. Yet the epidemic, I feel, is cresting in the congested urban areas of the United States, or will soon do so.

Until statistics are caught up, we cannot definitively know where we stand with regard to the HIV / AIDS pandemic. Meanwhile, shall we once more fall to the practice of publicly mistreating our bodies … whether in our streets, or on the silver screen?

ON PERFECTING WORKS OF CORPOREAL MERCY

The answer to the social stresses now testing the tensile strength of our democratic way of life lies not in hatred, not in acts of terrorism whether ultra right or ultra left, not in pogroms, not in vigilante justice, not in wanton waste of life, but in a learned and temperately discerning approach to the problems at hand.

Let us pay utmost respect to our bodies, the abiding temples of God’s loving kindness to us. It is this, the virtue of Christian charity … to ourselves as well as to others … that holds the answer to action in the world during this, the cusp of the HIV / AIDS pandemic.

In the Book of Matthew, Christ says …

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” –Matthew 6:16 (KJV, public domain)

I am put in mind of the biography of pastor Martin Rinkart, whose example I find  inspiring in these times of worldwide hardship …

Martin Rinkart (23 April 1586, Eilenburg – 8 December 1649) was a pastor who ministered to his flock in Eilenburg, a walled German town, during the Thirty Years’ War, 1618-1648.

In 1637, when the town was already worn down by war, the Great Pestilence took place. At that time the town of Eilenburg had four ministers. People from the surrounding area who were suffering from epidemic and famine sought refuge in Pastor Rinkart’s town.

As the plague-ridden entered the town, the townspeople became infected. One of the town’s ministers, no doubt overcome by a sense of impending doom, fled to healthier climes. The two other ministers stood by Pastor Rinkart, who saw them buried.

In the end, Pastor Rinkart was the only pastor left in Eilenburg. He conducted services for over 4,000 people, sometimes as many as 40 or 50 a day. In May of 1637 his wife died, which must have been a grievous personal blow to him. By the end of that year, the dead were being buried in trenches, and there were no services for them.

Under the most harrowing of personal circumstances, Martin Rinkart composed this uplifting hymn of gratitude for God’s myriad acts of loving kindness, a hymn that is often sung even today …

The examples of the many great saints of our Christian faith are like a beacon lighting our way in these difficult times. Like them, let us maintain hope in the face of the trials that stand before us. Let the heartbreak of many in our community lift us to faith in God’s sweet intention towards our Souls. Insofar as we may, let us speak to the pure Spirit within, so that we may find the courage to face calamity with equanimity, and the fortitude steadfastly to practice the Christian corporal works of mercy.

Let us feed the hungry, give water to the thirsty, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless, visit the sick, visit the imprisoned, ransom those held captive. and bury the dead.

There is a passage in Matthew 25 that speaks most poignantly to this time of Ascension on Earth. This passage brilliantly limns the manner in which we may choose to address the momentous days that lie before us, through works of mercy practiced in loving remembrance of Christ …

Matthew 25:31-46 (KJV, public domain)

31 “When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

32 “And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

33 “And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

34 “Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

35 “For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

36 “Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

37 “Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

38 “When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

39 “Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

40 “And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

41 “Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

42 “For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

43 “I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

44 “Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

45 “Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

46 “And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”

Surely none has spoken, nor likely ever will speak, more eloquently or to the point, than Christ himself has done. This passage sets us on a sure path through faith in Him, even in the face of  the most devastating hailstorm of temporal sorrow.

CONCLUSION

In these days of woe, shall we stand with Christ and act on his behalf? In truth, what we may do for the disempowered, the disadvantaged, and the disenfranchised people of Los Angeles, is what we may be privileged to do for Christ Himself in this lifetime.

It is the Body of Christ Himself to whom we minister. It is He whom we feed, whom we clothe, for whom we provide potable water, for whom we find lodging, whom we help to find a sure path after release from prison, and whom we seek to ransom from malefic entities … whether human or clothed in mists beyond our ken … who hold them prisoner.

Call to Action for Governor Jerry Brown: Explain Social Security Number Tagging of HIV-Positive Californians . by Alice B. Clagett

Filmed on 24 August 2018; published on 27 September 2018

Dear Ones,

This is a Call to Action for Governor Jerry Brown, of the State of California. I ask that an explanation be given for reporting the social security numbers of HIV-positive patients to Sacramento.

For instance: Not that we are planning to detain HIV-positive people in Walmart work camps or to eliminate them (as conspiracy theorists would have it), but rather that we just need to identify them definitively, so that their names are not counted twice in the health statistics.

Dear Ones,

SAFE SURGERY: RISK OF GLOVE PERFORATION DURING SURGERY

A while ago I did a blog on the effectiveness of surgical gloving in preventing blood taint during surgeries …

Link: “Compendium: Surgical Risk, HIV / AIDS, Hepatitis, and Hard Drugs,” by Alice B. Clagett, published on 17 October 2016; updated on 6 July 2017 … https://wp.me/p2Rkym-6gY ..

Here is the paper that was reviewed in the blog …

Link: “Occult Glove Perforation during Ophthalmic Surgery,” by Leonard Apt, MD, and (by invitation) Kevin M. Miller, MD, Tr. Am. Ophth. Soc., Vol. LXXXX, 1992 … http://europepmc.org/backend/ptpmcrender.fcgi?accid=PMC1298427&blobtype=pdf ..

In the paper, if I understand it correctly, Drs. Apt and Miller found a 15.0% incidence of surgically induced glove perforations over seven months.

In other words, if there is a 15% chance that a doctor’s surgical gloves might be perforated in 7 months, then there is a 15% chance of blood tainting during a medical procedure that involves exposure to a patient’s blood while it is in his or her body. According to the laws of probability, as I understand it, that would be a 15% chance of virus transmission with each surgery.

Self-Assessment and Segregation of HIV-Infected Surgeons to HIV-Infected Patient Groups

From this I deduced the possible danger to doctors of their being infected with HIV or hepatitis while they were wearing surgical gloves while doing operations. This then, might be a source point for HIV / AIDS ‘blooms’ as the pandemic progresses, unless the medical self-assesses and limits surgeries by infected surgeons to infected patient groups.

SAFE INCARCERATION: MITIGATING HIV / AIDS ‘BLOOMS’ IN PENAL INSTITUTIONS

As an aside, I feel that the incidence of HIV / AIDS ‘blooms’ in penal institutions … correctional facilities or prison … might be mitigated in a similar manner; that is, if correctional institutions self-assess and limit policing by infected correctional officers to infected groups of prisoners. The possibility of a correctional facility HIV / AIDS ‘bloom’ has to do with the practice of rape in these facilities, whether among prisoners, or by correctional facility officers. Prison rape is a practice just now beginning to be brought to light and figured into the pandemic equation.

COMPARISON OF SURGICAL GLOVE PERFORATION STATISTICS TO STATISTICS ON CONDOM BREAKAGE

To return to the article by Drs. Apt and Miller: That article got me thinking about how that finding might apply to the wearing of condoms during sexual intercourse. I think that there’s some congruence there.

Other factors being equal, might it be that wearing a condom during the act of sex might incur a 15% chance of HIV, hepatitis, or other virus transmission with every act of sexual intercourse? I’ve read an article by Planned Parenthood that supports this …

Link: “What are the chances of getting pregnant with a condom?,” by Emily@Planned Parenthood, 18 December 2017 … https://www.plannedparenthood.org/learn/teens/ask-experts/what-are-the-chances-of-getting-pregnant-with-a-condom ..

According to the article, among heterosexual couples where the man uses a condom during sexual intercourse, 18 in 100 of the women will become pregnant each year.

Among heterosexual couples where the woman uses a female condom, 21 in 100 women yearly will become pregnant.

Thus there is an 18% or 21% ‘ineffectiveness’ rate through condom use amongst heterosexual couples yearly. This figure is reasonably close to the 15% ‘ineffectiveness’ factor found by Drs. Apt and Miller for surgical glove protection.

Thus, we might extrapolate that a 15% to 21% annual effectiveness rate for prevention of STD virus transmission might be attained by using condoms, whether M2F, M2M, or F2F.

In other words, 15% to 21% of people using condoms for ‘safe sex’ might be anticipated to contract HIV or hepatitis annually, if their partner is infected.

RISK MITIGATION THROUGH DOUBLE BAGGING

Glove Perforation Risk Mitigation by Double Bagging During Surgery

The study by Drs. Apt and Miller discussed at some length the advantages of wearing two pairs of surgical gloves during surgery … of ‘double gloving’. Their retroactive findings were interesting, but inconclusive. One of the factors that needed to be looked at in future studies was correlation of location of punctures in inner and outer gloves worn during surgery. Were these to correlate … in other words, in cases of perforation of both gloves at one location … then, most likely, the risk of viral transmission, in cases where either the surgeon or the patient is infected, would be greater.

Then, in surgical cases, much might depend on the type of surgery being performed. For instance, hip arthroplasties … that is, total hip replacement surgeries … there is rough work involved. These surgeries must be done by physically strong surgeons. Manipulation of the joints may, I feel, result in greater likelihood of glove puncture. That is just my thought on it, without my doing any research on it. So it seemed to me that studies ought to be planned regarding correlation of location of punctures in inner and outer gloves worn during these types of surgery.

Risk Mitigation by Double Bagging Condoms During Sexual Intercourse

Wikipedia states that ‘double bagging’ … using two condoms instead of one … offers greater protection …

“‘Double bagging’, using two condoms at once, is often believed to cause a higher rate of failure due to the friction of rubber on rubber. This claim is not supported by research. The limited studies that have been done found that the simultaneous use of multiple condoms decreases the risk of condom breakage.” –from Link: “Condom,” in Wikipedia, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Condom … CC BY-SA 3.0

Planned Parenthood has more to say on this …

Link: “Fact Sheet: The Truth about Condoms,” by Planned Parenthood, July 2011 …  https://www.plannedparenthood.org/files/9313/9611/6384/truth_about_condoms.pdf ..

Under the subheading “Double Bagging,” they mention that three studies indicate double bagging … wearing two condoms … is effective in decreasing the risk of condoms breaking. One of the studies stated that double bagging decreased the risk of HIV transmission from 1.8% to only 0.2%. The study in question was …

Citation: “Multiple Condom Use and Decreased Condom Breakage and Shippage in Thailand,” by Rugpao, Sugwal, et al., February 1997, in Journal of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome
and Human Retrovirology,14(2), 169–173.

That would mean that single bagging results in a 98.2% effectiveness (that is 100% less 1.8%), and that double bagging results in 99.8% effectiveness (that is, 100% less 0.2%), as to the risks of condom breakage during sexual intercourse.

What do these percentages mean, in terms of the probability of HIV transmission? If the risk of condom breakage decreases from 1.8% to 0.2% with double bagging, then the risk, with double bagging, is only 10% as great as with single bagging.

Planned Parenthood translates 98% effectiveness as meaning, in a practical context, that 18% of heterosexual women using condoms will become pregnant each year. Were this risk to be 10% as great, then, presumably, only 2 women in 100 would become pregnant annually.

This pregnancy rate presumably correlates to condom breakage or slippage; thus the statistics might also apply to transmission of HIV and hepatitis. What we have then, is a potentially very significant mitigation of the rate of transmission of HIV and hepatitis through double bagging during sexual intercourse.

THE IMPORTANCE OF SLOWING DOWN THE COURSE OF A PANDEMIC

Slowing down the course of the HIV pandemic is important, both in terms of mitigation of human suffering, and also in terms of stabilization of the work force, and of available manpower, so as to keep our economy as strong and healthy as that of other nations, all of which are being impacted by the HIV / AIDS pandemic.

Uninfected Children Can Help Strengthen the Workforce of the Next Five Decades

The more we are able to slow down the course of the pandemic, worldwide, the greater will be the numbers of uninfected children born to the upcoming generation. These children, along with people now adults and uninfected, will strengthen our workforce during the next five decades.

Are HIV-Positive Newborns Who Are Resistant to HIV Being Born Worldwide?

Slowing down the course of the pandemic will also allow the human gene pool a ‘leg up’ in the natural course of selecting for a population that is resistant to HIV. More and more babies are being born already infected with HIV. The scant literature on mortality rates leans toward these babies not surviving to adulthood; but the truth is, data on this topic are woefully inadequate, as yet.

For instance, it is possible that babies are being born in the world today, who have the HIV infection. But because they appear to be perfectly normal, no one knows that they carry HIV. This might be the case, for instance, in Africa, where health care resources are less available.

Insurance Availability of Voluntary Annual HIV Testing in the United States

It might also be the case here in the United States, where annual HIV testing … though paid for by Medicare and other government programs … is seldom taken advantage of. This is most likely due, I feel, to backwardness of physician guidelines regarding the HIV pandemic. That would be easy to fix, though, by updating physicians on the advisability of annual HIV testing, and of testing newborns for HIV.

Nurturing HIV-Positive Newborns Who Are Resistant to HIV Will Strengthen Our Gene Pool

Thus it is possible that children are being born, here in the United States, and also worldwide, who are resistant to the HIV virus; who are able to lead healthy lives, and to bear healthy children. On this very likely possibility, it would be wholly inadvisable to react to the birth of HIV-positive children in our hospitals, with a policy of euthanasia. This type of policy would place our nation at a disadvantage, as regards other nations, in birthing a generation of children who have HIV, but are naturally resistant to the virus.

Putting the breaks on the rate of the pandemic … through double bagging, through voluntary annual testing and voluntary testing of newborns, and also through education on the risks and rewards of various sexual lifestyle choices … will allow the United States time and resources to nurture HIV-positive newborns, rather than making the short-sighted choice to euthanize them as a cost-saving measure.

These will be children who will be able to bear viable children, despite the infection, in years to come. Thus, slowing down the course of the pandemic will allow our human gene pool a ‘leg up’ in the natural course of selecting for a population that is resistant to HIV.

ATTENUATION: THE NORMAL COURSE OF A PANDEMIC

Mortality Rate During the 1918 Flu Pandemic, Compared to the 2009 Swine Flu Pandemic

We can expect that the HIV of future generations will be much different from the HIV of today. Such was the case with the influenza epidemic of the early 1900s … In the 1900s, the flu was very deadly, striking down one in every 10 to 20 people …

“The global mortality rate from the 1918/1919 pandemic is not known, but an estimated 10% to 20% of those who were infected died. With about a third of the world population infected, this case-fatality ratio means 3% to 6% of the entire global population died.” –from Link: “1918 Flu Pandemic,” in Wikipedia, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1918_flu_pandemic … CC BY 3.0

Yet today, many people successfully survive infection with influenza. For instance, in the 2009-2010 Swine flu … H1N1 … pandemic, 1 in 5 people were infected, but the mortality rate was only 0.2% …

Link: “Swine flu infected 1 in 5, death rate low, study shows,” by Kate Kelland, 25 January 2013 … https://www.reuters.com/article/us-flu-h1n1-pandemic/swine-flu-infected-1-in-5-death-rate-low-study-shows-idUSBRE90O0T720130125 ..

Pandemics: A More Benign Infecting Agent Over Time? Or a Stronger Human Gene Pool?

As I understand it, this is the normal progress of a pandemic: Those who are genetically most susceptible to the infecting agent are likely to pass on, in either the first or the second generation of the pandemic. Others, with genes more capable of withstanding the impact of the infecting agent, survive. The result, over time, is a gene pool more capable of resisting the impact of the infecting agent.

From our human standpoint, over time, it appears that the infecting agent has become more benign. But in fact, it is our human gene pool that has become more viable.

This is the normal course of pandemics in human populations. Were we to look at the course of pandemics in domestic animal populations, we would most likely find correlation.

I Am of the Stars

HIV / AIDS ‘Blooms’ in Groups: Alpha Male Infection and Transmission . by Alice B. Clagett

Written and published on 14 June 2018

  • WHAT ARE THE TRUE STATISTICS OF HIV INFECTION IN THE UNITED STATES?
  • HIV BLOOMS IN POLYAMOROUS GROUPS WHOSE ALPHA MALE IS INFECTED
  • HIV BLOOMS AMONG YOUTH OF TODAY

Dear Ones,

I have added a new section on HIV / AIDS ‘blooms’ in groups  to this article …

Link: “The HIV / AIDS Epidemic Worldwide,” by Alice B. Clagett, published on 11 March 2016; revised 14 June 2018; also revised 6 July 2017 … http://wp.me/p2Rkym-4YV ..

For your convenience, I have reproduced the new text below …

WHAT ARE THE TRUE STATISTICS OF HIV INFECTION IN THE UNITED STATES?

The original article mentions clair perception that as many as 50% of our sexually active young people have HIV, and that as much as 80% of MSM (men having sex with men) and IDUs (intravenous drug users) in the United States may now be infected.

Even taking into consideration the possibility of a whitewashing factor, these percentages are startlingly high, compared to the government statistics on the progress of the pandemic in the United States.

I now feel the 50% and 80% mentioned in the above paragraph had to do with two telepathically detected ‘blooms’ of the epidemic that happened in 2015, in diverse parts of the United States. Thus these are percentages after a ‘bloom’ takes place.

HIV BLOOMS IN POLYAMOROUS GROUPS WHOSE ALPHA MALE IS INFECTED

I feel that ‘blooms’ occur where the leader of a group … the alpha male … has a polyamorous lifestyle, and becomes infected with the HIV / AIDS virus. Apparently the feral drives of an alpha male … characteristics of ‘alpha-ness’, as it were … involve having sex with the beta members of the group, either male, or female, or both, depending on the group.

I consider this a ritual act of sex expressing the alpha male’s dominance over the group, like the perfunctory, perhaps nonejaculatory, to my understanding ‘ritual’ sex acts of the hamadryas baboon, for instance, which can be observed at the zoo in the early morning, just after the zoo has opened, and before crowds of people arrive.

Thus, for groups of people likely to experience an HIV / AIDS ‘bloom’, ritual acts of sex by the alpha male upon the members … whether male members, female members, or both … may have been taking place for years. The group, accustomed to the behavior of the alpha male, is ‘going on rote’, and the ‘bloom’ comes upon them, all unawares, and all of a sudden, in the course of a few months.

HIV BLOOMS AMONG YOUTH OF TODAY

A bloom, I feel, is also likely to occur in primary and secondary school groups accustomed to the polyamorous lifestyle promoted through the mass media, and where one young person is infected, possibly through a sex-for-drugs agreement with an infected adult. Then because of sexual practices termed ‘friendship’ in school restrooms, exchange of bodily fluids may result in HIV transmission, and a ‘bloom’ of the virus in a school class.

My suggestion regarding this is to talk about it with groups, so that the danger becomes clear, before the ‘bloom’ occurs. Each group will know where the danger lies, whether in the group restroom, or in the office of the alpha male, a drug dealer’s car parked near a school, or elsewhere. Knowing the danger involved, each group can take its own steps to mitigate the risk of a ‘bloom’, before the fact.

I Am of the Stars

VIDEO BY ALICE

SUMMARY OF THE VIDEO

Hello, Dear Ones, this is Alice. I Am of the Stars.

Figures for Population Decline Because of the HIV Pandemic in the United States

I have crunched some numbers and come up with some figures for population decline because of the HIV pandemic here in the United States over the next 10 years. I will put the figures in the blog, and I thought I would also put them in the video for my youtube viewers.

Some of the data that I really need … such as the 2016 births and deaths in the United States … are just not available right now. But I do have paired data for births and deaths in the United States as of 2014.

There were 2.626 million deaths in the United States in 2014, as compared to 3.986 million births in the United States then. That would be a 0.8% population growth in the United States in 2014 (a little less than 1%).

And I have figures for population growth as of 2017 in the United States: The figure was, a little less than 1% positive change in population. It is 0.73%. You can compare this to the percent change of population in Africa as of 2017: It was 2.5% positive change. When we say “as of 2017” I believe what is meant is “the most recent data available as of 2017”; that might be 2014 or 2015, for all I know.

Nevertheless, going on what is available, you can see that, in Africa, which is hard hit by the HIV pandemic, there is still a 2.5% population growth, and pretty much steady around that range for the last few years. I believe this has to do with the greater fertility rate in Africa, because it surely does not have to do with better treatment as far as drugs are concerned. Africa is somewhat underserved, compared to the United States, as I understand it, in that respect.

So now to get back to the United States, and the blossoming bell curve here, the following is a conservative estimate … I had first thought it would be much greater; in fact I still think that. But I err on the side of conservatism for the sake of my readers. This is the conservative part:

I am estimating 50% survival rate to puberty for the births that take place in the United States. That is assuming treatment with proper antiviral medications for neonates immediately after birth, if the mother has HIV or AIDS. So, say, a 50% survival rate to puberty, including all children, not just the children with HIV.

If that happens, then what we will have, according to my figures, is 0.2% population decline per year for the next 10 years; in other words, slightly negative population growth. So we should plan for that, and figure out what to do.

Thoughts on Mitigation

Better Treatment Methods. In the meantime, we can also look forward to new discoveries with regard to treatment of the HIV virus, and ways of living that will bolster the immune system, I feel.

Better Growth Rate if We Increase the Birth Rate. Also, we could increase the birth rate here, especially with regard to parents that do not have HIV yet. So that is a possibility; that is something that might be looked forward to.

Possible Lifestyle Changes to Assist Population Growth. And furthermore, I have an idea that I will discuss further on in the video, about a change of lifestyle that might be extremely beneficial.

Thoughts for Parents of Young Children

Advantages of Voluntary, Free Testing in Elementary Schools. I think that we have had a sudden creeping up upon us of this HIV epidemic, and that, of the children reaching puberty right now, almost all of them will have been infected with HIV by the time they reach puberty. That is what I think we will find.

I believe testing has been insufficient. Testing should be freely available, on a volunteer basis, at parents’ request, through schools, at no charge. That would give us a better grasp of the pandemic amongst children.

Advantages of Diagnosing and Treating Children. This is for parents: We need to know whether the children have HIV, because there are treatments available for young people, that would improve their chances of surviving if, in fact, they have HIV.

Thoughts on Targeting of Elementary School Children by the Drug Trade. Further, I would like to just mention to parents that I believe that the drug trade in the United States is marketing to elementary schools right now; maybe even preschools. And I believe that they are soliciting from amongst the economically deprived members of school classes throughout the United States, pushers of drugs who are 8 years of age or so … old enough to be able to hold their own physically in fist fights and so forth, against younger children.

I believe this is a conscious campaign by the drug industry in the United States, to get children hooked very early. The result is that children are often exposed to HIV infection by the people selling narcotics to the children, who often ask the children for sexual favors … this is my intuitive grasp of the situation … They ask these children for sexual favors in return for giving them drugs. And it is the sexual favors that cause the children to be infected with HIV.

Because of the lifestyle of young people today, once one child is infected with HIV in an elementary school, all of the children are at risk of being infected within a year or two. So there’s that for parents to look out for.

Drug-Related Violence and HIV Risk in the Santa Monica Mountains. Here in Los Angeles, my intuition tells me that there are a few other areas of danger zones for parents to know about with regard to their children. One, I think, is the parks, especially the Santa Monica Mountains parks right now.

  • I have seen evidence of marijuana use in Malibu Creek State Park, near the rock pools, and Top of Reseda Trailhead.
  • I have also seen one person at Gillette Ranch who, I was told by a ranger at the Malibu Creek State Park kiosk, exhibited the signs of cocaine addiction. Those areas that I have seen or clairly might have drug-related difficulties a included Gillette Ranch, Malibu Creek State Park, and Paramount Ranch. I just have a feeling that there is cocaine use there sometimes now, both during the week and on the weekends, that might result in acts of violence … say, rape … in those areas. So parents should be very careful about letting their children hike unsupervised in those areas both weekdays and weekends.

Because I am an avid hiker and a long-time Sierra Club member, I am very familiar with all the trails around the Santa Monica Mountains.

Possible Sexual Predators at the Victory Trailhead in the San Fernando Valley. And I have noticed, at the west end of Victory Blvd in the San Fernando Valley, the trailhead that goes into the Upper Las Virgenes Open Space Area, there is trouble there, possibly because of the restrooms there, to do with the very young adults from the surrounding neighborhoods being potentially preyed upon … at least, people looking out to do that with them, who appear to be of lower socioeconomic status. Also, it appears to me, just judging from the years that I was working at UCLA Medical Center in an area by the HIV clinic there at that time (so I am familiar with the look of advanced AIDS), that there may be men, there at that area, who are looking out for the young adult boys with the chance, hopefully, of a sexual encounter which might result in HIV transmission to the youth of that area.

Possible Sexual Predators in Chatsworth Park South, in the San Fernando Valley. And also I have noticed, in Chatsworth Park South, in Chatsworth, in the San Fernando Valley, that there are people either living or lurking in the underbrush, the chaparral in those areas, in places where the young adults, especially young men, play after school.

So I would suggest parents advising their children to exert the utmost caution in regard to hiking and walking in, and exploring and adventuring in, the Santa Monica Mountains and the Santa Susana Mountains, until the danger, which came up in about 2016, I think, is cleared up. There is that.

Also, I have noticed that, in the children’s movie matinees in the San Fernando Valley, it is very important for mothers not to let their young sons go to the restrooms unattended. The young boys, I feel, should use the women’s restroom under the supervision of their mothers if there is no other possibility.

Possible Danger to Young Boys in Matinee and Department Store Restrooms in the San Fernando Valley. That is because I have seen one case, last year, of a young boy at a matinee being afraid to go to the restroom and his mother forcing him to go, not understanding the difficulty that he had apparently encountered before there. And of a young man in his 20s immediately going into the restroom after the child went in. The aspect of the person that went in was what the clair people call ‘predatory’, you know? He was up to no good, it seemed to me. The same sort of danger might be encountered in any bathrooms in urban areas, including those in department stores.

The thing of it is, at times when we think there is no danger, in the great open spaces around here, in a children’s matinee, or the like, parents need to look and see if there is danger. And talk to their children, especially about any close encounters that they have had.

Positive Possible Changes in Lifestyle to Help Stabilize Our Population

And now to move on to positive possible changes in lifestyle that might result in stabilizing our population in the United States in the coming years.

On Very Early Marriage, and Chastity Until First Child Is Born. I had one thought about a lifestyle change that might be helpful. I thought that, if young people were to marry very young, and remain faithful to each other until their first child has been born, then we might be able to stabilize the population despite the increase of HIV virus transmission.

Apparently, children that are born infected with the virus have a short life expectancy (about 9.4 years without any treatment) … too short to expect them to reproduce … and so it is important to conserve the lives of the children that do not have HIV, and to help them have a chance to have a child before they make a lifestyle choice that puts them at greater risk of infection with that virus.

On Parents and Grandparents Helping to Raise Children. I am also thinking that, given the more lax standards of chastity in the world today, it might be a good idea to allow children to have children at a younger age … a very young age … say, soon after they become capable of doing so … and then make the rearing of these children the responsibility and joy of the greater family, including the parents of the children and the children themselves.

On Family-Value-Oriented Solutions. So that is my thought. Probably there are other solutions. But I consider this to be one of the most family-value-oriented solution. I think that in this way we could improve the compassion, the compassionate feeling of family life in America, at a time of relative difficulty with regard to the progress of this pandemic.

On Joy in Childbirth. And we could increase the joy that parents and children feel when the children become pubescent, because their first acts of sexual union would be joyfully anticipated by the family instead of feared. And instead of resulting in abortion, which does cause, in my opinion, great Soul wounding, they would result in rejoicing.

Conclusion

That is all for now. You all take care.

I wish you the very best in these trying times. I feel very certain that, as we draw together as communities, all across the United States, we will come to a greater understanding of family values, we will raise the most beautiful children there ever were, and we will stand up strong in the face of adversity, with the courage that it takes to meet this challenge.

And we will successfully persevere through it, and come out on the other side, the better for it. Love you all lots.

STATISTICS AND ESTIMATES ON UPCOMING NEGATIVE POPULATION GROWTH IN THE UNITED STATES

Here are the statistics and estimates given in the video …

2014 United States Statistics

3.986 million births (1) (as in 2014 in the United States) / 2 (rough estimate: 50% survival rate of children to puberty, with treatment) –> 1.993 M births of children surviving to puberty

Deaths, 2.626 M in 2014 (2) in the United States

Population in United States in 2014 = 318.9 million (3)

Estimates and Calculations

2,626 M deaths – 1.993 M births of children surviving to puberty  = .633 M negative population growth forecast for each of the next 10 years, in terms of lesser numbers of people in the United States

0.633 M estimated annual negative population growth / 318.9 M population in 2014 x 100 (converting to percent) = 0.20% population decline per year for the next 10 years (compared to 2.5% positive population growth for 2017)

United States versus African Population in 2017

Population of the United States as of 2017: 326,474,013, (4) representing 0.73 % population growth

Population of the Africa as of 2017: 1,246,504,865, (5) representing 2.5 % population growth

Dear Ones,

I am looking over the propositions on the California ballot today, and have come to some interesting realizations regarding ways to solve the issues we Americans face as a nation today.

THE QUESTION OF SAFE SEX FOR THE PORNOGRAPHY INDUSTRY

In California, Proposition 60 has been put forth, regarding requiring employers to have actors in pornography films use condoms, and to provide vaccines and medical checkups. [This proposition on the 8 November 2016 ballot failed to pass.] This is an issue sidestepped by the California League of Women Voters, whose opinions I value because they reflect my concerns for children’s and women’s rights. So I took a closer look …

SEX WORKERS AND SOCIETAL EXPECTATIONS

There are issues around occupations that do not conform to societal expectations, such as the sex worker industry. The issues are: Should Americans be allowed to view pornography, or is this practice unethical? Ought punitive measures be in place regarding pornography? If so, what punitive measures? For instance, why not just let all the sex workers die of AIDS? That would serve them right, would it not?

These are not thoughts of our conscious minds. Rather, they are upwellings of negative emotion from our subconscious minds.

Many people have learned, in early childhood, that sexual expression needs to be corralled and closeted … in a bedroom, for example. That the sex act needs to be performed quietly, so that no one can hear. That only certain ways of expressing sexuality are ok; others (the list is long) are not ok. In the case of women, ‘that a lady need not express herself through orgasm’. The notion that children may not feel sexual till they reach 16, or 18 (when in fact, children begin to learn about sexuality, and to express it, in very early childhood).

These sexual taboos, which vary from family to family, and from culture to culture, are the source of Soul wounding in early childhood, which imbalances the second chakra and interferes with the function of the heart chakra.

And so, when we consider the issue of sex workers and condoms, we are really dipping into the mire of societal taboos regarding sexuality, and not just dealing with a straightforward issue of what might be good for disempowered sex workers.

BRINGING SEX TABOOS TO THE LIGHT OF CONSCIOUS AWARENESS

Up until recently,  the savvy rhetorician could manipulate societal taboos to win kudos for personal gain … In this way, laws have been passed in America that reinforce early childhood Soul wounding and countermand the common good.

This is a new day on New Earth, and all of us are now able to arrive at better solutions to societal issues. This is because the common person … you and I … are rising to an understanding of the subconscious mind. We can move beyond these subconscious barriers, and on to new, more positive solutions to social issues.

ON DEALING WITH THE PRACTICAL ISSUE OF SEX WORK, INSTEAD OF PROJECTING BLAME

In the case of condoms for sex workers, the subconscious negative burden of America is then notion aforementioned: Why not let them all die of AIDS?

OK, let’s look at that. While the sex worker occupation is socially unacceptable, it is also avidly sought after by both men and women. This has been the case down through history; there were merchants, women, slaves, and ‘canabae’ (1) who were camp followers for the Roman legion, and this has been the case for armies down through history. In a civilian context, this is also true.

In past, this issue has been dealt with in a subconscious context: Our subconscious mind wants to place blame, to pass judgment, regarding this activity. For women, our own husbands and their friends are engaged in this activity. For men, our wives would call it quits were we to come out in favor of this activity, though we may personally find it an attractive prospect. What to do? The answer has been, to project the blame and judgement we feel toward our spouse onto the sex workers.

This act of projection is one of the subconscious mechanisms that are now coming to the light of Awareness. It’s becoming clear that the issues reside within the spousal relationship, between man and wife. And more specifically, they lie in the clearings of the Soul wounding of the second chakra now taking place on Earth through the incoming photonic Light. As these clearings take place, the negative onus of societal expectations rises to our conscious awareness. Thus spouses can begin to speak frankly of the issue of sex work and its utilization by the husband, or by the wife.

In the meantime, there is, for many Americans, still the negative subconscious burden in place. This may be overcome by pointing out the flow-through effect of labeling such an occupation ‘illegal’. Thus we may steer our course with an eye to the common good, rather than to that subconscious bias to which we all fall prey from time to time. Here are the issues at hand:

DISEMPOWERMENT OF SEX WORKERS

In America today, there are laws in place against sex workers. Yet laws are not enforced, as logic would propose, against those who frequent the sex trade.

  • This legal inequity is held in place by the subconscious nature of our disapproval of this occupation, and effected through the subconscious process known as ‘projection’.
  • We are using the legal system to project our negativity towards the sex worker occupation on sex workers, instead of dealing with the issues as husband-wife and parent-child issues.
  • Because of this legal inconsistency, sex workers are among the disempowered in America.

SEX WORKER SAFETY

There is a rising sentiment to protect workers in America. Workers in many occupations are protected by laws regarding worker safety. However, in the case of occupations judged by the public to be unethical, there is no safety protection.

This concept of safety includes, in the case of sex workers, the danger of disease, including eventually fatal disease, danger of physical injury by clients and by pimps, and danger to life itself, as in the case of snuff films.

THE FLOW-THROUGH EFFECT: SEX WORKER SAFETY AND THE COMMON GOOD

Sex workers know that admission of infection by HIV can be fatal; yet sex work invariably leads to infection. For the sake of life and limb, test results are falsified. This, to the sex worker, necessary precaution then puts those who utilize their services at risk of infection.

Thus the danger of disease, including eventually fatal disease, flows through to those that use the services of sex workers, and from there to their spouses, and from there onward to circle of intimate acquaintances of both spouses.

Clair Stories about Women Having Sex with Fitness Instructors

I have had a number of clair reports about M2F sex work through fitness centers, targeting older women, who divorce their husbands, marry a fitness instructor, contract HIV, and are ‘taken to the cleaners’ by the new husband.

Clair Stories about Children Having Sex with Illegal Drug Dealers

Also in the clair realm, there are reports of elementary school children trading M2Child sex for drugs; thus the children are also contracting HIV by junior high school age.

Pornography as Sex Education for Young Adults

Here is another flow-through effect involving children: Pornography films are tools by means of which our young people learn about the sex act. Use of condoms in pornography films would help our young people understand the importance of safe sex practices.

Clair Stories about Sex Workers and Law Enforcement

There are clair stories to the effect that the flow-through effect extends to law enforcement and their spouses, because of widespread practice of unprotected jail rape of sex workers.

Suppression of Data on HIV infection

Data on HIV infection in the United States have been suppressed …

Link: “Compendium: HIV / AIDS Pandemic, and Data Suppression by the Centers for Disease Control,” by Alice B. Clagett, published on 10 July 2016; updated … https://wp.me/p2Rkym-5QE ..

Why is this? It is possible that HIV incidence began to step up in 2014, and that many more people are involved than is generally known. Whether this is true, or not, can only be determined when the facts are, by some intrepid Soul in the Centers for Disease Control, finally brought to the light of public scrutiny.

Summary

From this I conclude that  the flow-through effect from sex work involves a broad range of people. It affects men who frequent sex workers. But also, women and children. And possibly many more people than published data have led us to believe.

CONCLUSIONS REGARDING THE ISSUE OF REQUIRING SAFE SEX FOR ACTORS IN THE PORNOGRAPHY INDUSTRY

  • Sex workers frequently act in pornography films for extra income.
  • If they do not practice safe sex, then they will get HIV.
  • If the health of sex workers is not protected, the flow-through groups will get HIV. This might include you and me.
  • And so, it is in our own best interest, and for the common good, that the health of actors in the pornography industry be protected.

Dear Ones,

SUPPRESSION OF 2014 HIV INCIDENCE DATA BY THE CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL

As you may know, nearly all of the United States county-by-county data on HIV incidence were suppressed in the 2014 United States Centers for Disease Control HIV report. (1) The likely reason is that HIV incidence is on the rise in the United States, and disclosure of this rise in incidence has been concealed because it causes political inconvenience, particularly in a presidential election year.

THE DUTY THAT GOVERNMENT HAS TO MAKE THIS HEALTH RISK CLEAR TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE

My first thought on this is, that those we vote into office have no right to conceal the truth from the American people, in the name of political expediency. When the fate of our children, and our children’s children is in the balance, it is the duty of our political representatives to tell us, their constituency, what lies before us as a people, so that we may be prepared for the future.

If these data are being suppressed because our government has not the means to treat the HIV pandemic, and feels despair in that regard, then we, the people, must make the necessary grassroots preparations, through our schools, our places of work, our churches, and our civic organizations, to come together in community and deal with what lies before us in the best possible way.

In order for this to happen, it is crucial that our government reveal to us what is currently known about HIV incidence in the United States. As Franklin D. Roosevelt, speaking to the challenge then faced by America, said in his inaugural address:

“This is preeminently the time to speak the truth, the whole truth, frankly and boldly. Nor need we shrink from honestly facing conditions in our country today. This great Nation will endure as it has endured, will revive and will prosper. So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself—nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance. In every dark hour of our national life a leadership of frankness and vigor has met with that understanding and support of the people themselves which is essential to victory….” (2)

HOW TO GET HIV HOME TESTS, AND WHICH TEST LOOKS MORE PROMISING

I observe that the Obama administration has made the OraQuick HIV Home Test available for about $40 through the Rite-Aid Pharmacies, Walgreens, and CVS Pharmacy. (3) This test has 99% accuracy, but only if used 3 months after a risk event … though very reasonably priced, this test is, I feel, not as timely as the test described below:

The Home Access Express HIV-1 Test System (about $60) is available through Amazon.com … https://www.amazon.com/ … search by the name of the product.  This test is 99.9% accurate … as accurate as the test at a doctor’s office, and, I feel, the better choice.

Here is a question: Why would these products be now available over the counter? Is their availability not proof that there has been a rise in HIV incidence in the United States … an increase concerning enough to propel the Obama administration to provide these products over-the-counter without the need for a visit to a doctor’s office?

ON MAKING CONFIDENTIAL HIV TESTING AVAILABLE AT OUR ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS, JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOLS, AND HIGH SCHOOLS

My feeling is, that as many as 40% of our youth may find themselves to be infected with the HIV virus by graduation from high school. I feel the infection may be taking place as early as elementary school level.

Proposal. The proof of this assertion … as well as its disproval … lies in our making free, voluntary, confidential HIV tests available to the students in our elementary schools, junior high schools, and high schools.

Knowing how many of our children are infected is very important to our children and their parents, and it’s also important to our schools, which may, in time, assume a leadership role in preserving the good health of our children, whether they be infected or not infected.

ON FACILITATING THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN HIV-RESISTANT GENE POOL WORLDWIDE

The HIV epidemic will eventually and inevitably sweep through the entire population of the United States, as it will in other countries.

The hope for continuation of our human population on planet Earth lies in those of our children who have a natural genetic resistance to the HIV virus. Their resistance must be such that they can survive, even though they have the virus, long enough to have children of their own. In this way, the resistant populations of children worldwide will eventuate an HIV-resistant global gene pool. In this lies the salvation and perpetuation of the human race on Earth.

How may this positive outcome be facilitated?

ANTICIPATED DOWNTIME FOR OUR WORKFORCE AS A RESULT OF THE PANDEMIC

One of the greatest concerns, in the short term, for our nation as for all the world’s nations during these trying times, is the preservation of a sufficiently large able-bodied workforce to transition through this challenging time; sufficient man-hours (and woman-hours) must be available to allow us to continue providing our people with foodstuffs, heat, materials for construction of homes and businesses, and other staples.

Among those of our workers who now have the HIV infection, greater downtime must be anticipated. Their work schedules must be compassionately devised so as to take into account their need to keep their immune systems strong, and their need to take time off when they aren’t feeling well.

This anticipated increase in sick-leave and wellness leave among our HIV infected workers points out a need to provide for additional workers. Where will this HIV-free workforce come from?

A SHORT-TERM STRATEGY FOR PRESERVING OUR WORKFORCE: ALLOWING OUR CHILDREN TO BEAR CHILDREN AT AN EARLY AGE; A RETURN TO CHASTITY AS A PRACTICAL IDEAL

In the short term, when our children reach puberty and before they are infected with the HIV virus, let us allow them to bear HIV-free children, rather than forcing them to abort these our grandchildren out of financial considerations.

Let the greater family unit assist in the rearing of these babies, who will may add to the HIV-free workforce, thus bolstering the manpower gap caused by downtime among workers infected with HIV.

A further consideration is for parents to explain the facts of the HIV pandemic, the effect infection would have on their lifespan, and the advantages of chastity among our young couples who give birth at an early age. This will help them stay clear of HIV infection.

HIV infection among our children is a difficult thing to avoid, considering the tendency of mass media and virtual devices to proffer profligacy as a preferential lifestyle. If they do get the infection, there are guidelines to help them not pass on the infection to their children … see (4).

Proposals. In general, the strategy I propose to preserve our workforce is to allow our children to bear children young, to educate them as to the dangers posed by the HIV pandemic, and to help promote the ideals of practical chastity among our young.

Further, if we allow them to get confidential HIV tests at their schools, then they will be aware of prospective health problems for the children they are bearing as well as for themselves.

LONG-TERM STRATEGY FOR PRESERVING OUR WORKFORCE: HOSPITAL AND LONG-TERM CARE FOR AIDS BABIES; GRASSROOTS ALTERNATIVE MEDICAL CARE

My feeling is, that more and more AIDS babies are being born. It could be that the statistics are not yet ‘out there’ because there is a cover-up going on, or it could be that hospitals have not yet put two and two together … They may not be testing all infants for AIDS, or they may be testing them, finding a greater incidence, and thinking that their city or town is just a particularly unlucky vicinity, as far as the HIV virus is concerned.

At present, the inevitability of the pandemic is simply not being put forth, and so, AIDS babies are often left at hospitals for adoption. As there is a great stigma attached to the virus, AIDS babies are less likely to be adopted than are healthy babies. It is also possible that some hospitals, whose have no clear understanding of the importance of keeping these babies alive, are euthanizing these infants or else allowing unfit couples to adopt them.

This notwithstanding, the long-term salvation of our people lies in preserving the lives of these AIDS babies. All the babies born in America will eventually be AIDS babies. From this gene pool will come the children who have sufficient resistance to the virus to carry on reproduction of our species. And so, long-term, we must do our very best to keep them alive.

Proposals. One possibility, as their numbers increase, might be the establishment of community orphanages, either through schools or through churches and civic organizations. These orphanages might be staffed by HIV-positive caregivers, possibly even parents who have lost their own children to the disease. I could see a Federal government subsidy for these orphanages as a natural likelihood.

Let us arrange, insofar as possible, for sufficient Western medicines for the virus to be provided through Obama care. For those not eligible for Obama care, let adequate provision of Western medicines be made. In the Western medicines should at some point become scarce, let us look into the efficacy of low-cost alternative medical care.

ON THE CHANCE OF AIDS BABIES TO SURVIVE

Infants in the womb can be infected with HIV through the mother’s blood, but this is less likely to happen if the mother is on HIV medications. Whether the baby has HIV won’t be known for sure till it is about 3 months old; this determination takes place after various tests are administered.

Babies who are infected with HIV and who do not receive medical treatment generally live less than 3 years. Babies who receive medical treatment can live many years. (5)

ECONOMIC OUTLOOK FOR VARIOUS INDUSTRIES AS THE PANDEMIC PROGRESSES

Transportation, postal services, and telecommunication may be come more localized.

Electric supply may become intermittent … available, say, 4 hours a day, or only at hospital operating rooms and other important locations, such as law enforcement, for instance. This is not a great catastrophe; rather, it is more like the current situation in undeveloped nations.

Medical care may become less available, and promising alternative healing modalities should be sought out at the grassroots level now, while time avails.

It is likely that children will be entering the workforce much younger, the consequence being less demand for higher education.

Luxury industries will likely fall by the wayside.

A CALL TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE: LET US MEET THIS CHALLENGE WITH FAITH, HOPE, AND CHARITY TOWARD THOSE IN NEED

Any great challenge that a nation faces, also provides an opportunity for its people to grow in courage, and in compassionate outreach, and to build a stronger sense of family and community. As President Ronald Reagan said in his 1984 State of the Union Message:

“… our greatest hope for the future, are the minds and hearts of our people, especially our children. We can help them build tomorrow by strengthening our community of shared values… For us, faith, work, family, neighborhood, freedom, and peace are not just words; they’re expressions of what America means, definitions of what makes us a good and loving people. Families stand at the center of our society….” (6)

Let us not fall into a torpor of disconsolation, nor into the pit of despair. Rather, let us join hands with our brothers and sisters and help each other through the coming times. Truly, the only thing we have to fear is not knowing what lies before us. Through knowing, we shall plan. Through faith, through hope, and through works of compassionate charity, we shall overcome all obstacles, and triumph as a people.

In love, light and joy,
Alice B. Clagett

Dear Ones,

Here are my exposés on data suppression of 2014 HIV / AIDS incidence by our government. This is my original work, and as far as I know, no one else has discovered this cover-up (or as is popularly termed, ‘massaging of the data’).

These blog pages were written from March through today, and each builds on prior understanding. The most recent posts are at the top of the list.

Dear Ones,

It looks to me that United States government figures have been revised on HIV incidence in 2014.

A SURVEY OF THE 2014 HIV INCIDENCE DATA

The Deceptive Effect of Data ‘Smoothing’

Take a look at http://gis.cdc.gov/grasp/nchhstpatlas/main.html?value=atlas [broken link] … You will find yourself on the State View. This view smoothes out the data on all the counties in a state. Since many of the counties’ data are suppressed, the data on the State View are essentially a way to whitewash the facts; this smoothing technique is often used in statistical analysis to conceal an underlying problem.

Now click on the button “View Counties” … and you will get the county view. In that view, all the areas of the United States that appear to be white are areas where data on HIV incidence for 2014 have been suppressed. On the face of it, it would appear that the great majority of United States counties have declined to report their data. There also exists the possibility that their data have been suppressed at higher levels of government, and this ought to be looked into by the appropriate parties.

Data for Central and Northwestern United States Cannot Be Extrapolated Because the Data Have Been Suppressed

Looking only at the counties for which data have been suppressed, one sees there are essentially no data for the central and northwestern United States. As nearly all the data have been suppressed, this leaves us no room for extrapolation for the central and northwestern United States.

Thoughts on the Data that Have Not Been Suppressed: The East Coast, the Gulf Coast, and the Southwestern United States

A fair amount of counties on the East Coast, the Gulf Coast, and in the Southwestern United States offer data that has not been suppressed. To overcome the concealment effect of the State View smoothing factor, we can extrapolate for each of these areas on the basis of the reporting counties alone. In other words, we will not allow the ‘zero’ effect of the suppressed data to weight the data so that the pandemic appears to be less advanced than it truly is.

Note that the color keys for the State View and the County View have different HIV incidence values, as follows …

State View        County View                Color
not shown        data suppressed        white with bars *
0-4.8                  1.8-7.2                         cream colored
5.2-9.0               7.3-11.2                       very light green
9.2-12.8            11.3-16.2                     medium bluegreen
13.8-20.4          16.3-27.0                     darker bluegreen
20.7-66.9          27.4-178.0                   darkest bluegreen

20.3% Whitewashing Effect of Data Smoothing for Median 2014 HIV Incidence

As I mentioned above: Since many of the counties’ data are suppressed, the data on the State View are essentially a way to whitewash the facts; this smoothing technique is sometimes used in statistical analysis to conceal an underlying problem.

By comparing the HIV incidence value ranges for the State View to those of the County View in the table above, the extent of this whitewashing becomes clear.

For instance, for the State View, the median value might be calculated as the average of the middle (medium bluegreen) value range. That, then, would be …

(9.2 + 12.8) / 2 = 22 / 2 =
11 as a median 2014 HIV incidence in the State View (the default view of the map, for which data smoothing occurred)

Then for the County View, the median value would be …

(11.3 + 16.2) / 2 = 27.5 / 2 =
13.8 as a median 2014 HIV incidence in the County View (the hidden, but clickable, view of the map, where there was no data smoothing)

The State View whitewashing effect for the median 2014 HIV incidence might be calculated as …

[(13.8 – 11) / 13.8] x 100 =
[2.80 / 13.8] x 100 =
20.3%. This is the whitewashing effect for the median 2014 HIV incidence value.

62.4% Whitewashing Effect of Data Smoothing for Highest 2014 HIV Incidence

The highest value for 2014 HIV incidence is 66.9 for the State View (the default view) and 178.0 for the County View (which is the hidden, but clickable, view). For this highest value, then, one might calculate the whitewashing effect as follows:

[(178.0 – 66.9) / 178.0] x 100 =
[111.1 / 178.0] x 100 =
62.4%. This is the whitewashing effect for the highest 2014 HIV incidence value.

Questions Regarding Tabulation of 2014 Data

Regarding these keys, I have the following questions:

  • Why do the values on the State View differ from those on the County View?
  • Why are there gaps between the data ranges? For instance, should not the second category on the State View begin where the first category left off, like this: 0-4.8 (first category) and then 4.9-9.0 (second category)? What about the data that would fall in the gaps between the value ranges … have these ‘gap’ data been overlooked?
  • I have a question about the data for the “darkest bluegreen” category: Why is the data range for the County View (27.4-178.0) so large? Does this indicate that a logarithmic scale is being used? I ask this because it seems likely to me that the use of a logarithmic scale indicates that the people who composed the value ranges are anticipating big increases in the values, or else that such increases have already occurred.
  • Another thought on the data for the “darkest bluegreen” category: For myself, I would like to see a four further breakdowns in this range, so that I might see on the graph how many counties have an incidence in the range of 27.4-50.0, 50.0-100.0, 100.0-150.0, and 150.0-178.0, for instance. That way the future curve of the pandemic might be more accurately predicted.
  • Also, along technical lines, there is a text overlay on the County View that makes the color keys difficult to read. Consequently, I may have misread the value ranges for the County View.

CDC REPORT ON DATA FOR HIV INCIDENCE, 2009-2013

An “HIV Surveillance Report:  Diagnoses of HIV Infection in the United States and Dependent Areas, 2013” is available online … http://www.cdc.gov/hiv/pdf/library/reports/surveillance/cdc-hiv-surveillance-report-vol-25.pdf ..

This report was prepared by the National Center for HIV / AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention, Division of HIV / AIDS Prevention, CDC. Since the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) is a public domain website, and the CDC is a federal agency, I’m assuming their work is in the public domain.

In the report, there is a table that indicates HIV incidence per 100,000 for the years 2009 through 2013. This is “Table 1a. Diagnoses of HIV infection, by year of diagnosis and selected characteristics, 2009–2013—United States” …

HIV-table-1a

Diagnoses of HIV infection, by year of diagnosis and selected characteristics, 2009–2013—United States,” in “HIV Surveillance Report:  Diagnoses of HIV Infection in the United States and Dependent Areas, 2013”  …  http://www.cdc.gov/hiv/pdf/library/reports/surveillance/cdc-hiv-surveillance-report-vol-25.pdf ..

Here are the summary data from the table …

HIV INCIDENCE PER 100,000
2009: 15.3
2010: 14.6
2011: 14.1
2012: 14.4
2013: 15.0

THE ACCELERATING COURSE OF PANDEMICS

The summary data in this table show an average baseline incidence per100,000 of about 14.7. This baseline effect is similar to the baseline of stock prices, which sets the stage for the subsequent rise in the stock price, as may be observed with the well-known Dow Jones Industrials, NASDAQ, and S&P 500,  stock charts …

Comparison_of_three_stock_indices_after_1975.svg

Image: “Comparison of three stock indices after 1975,”  from Wikimedia Commons …  https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Comparison_of_three_stock_indices_after_1975.svg … public domain

Image: “Comparison of three stock indices after 1975,”  from Wikimedia Commons …  https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Comparison_of_three_stock_indices_after_1975.svg … public domain

As can be seen from the above chart …

  • For the stock market, there was a baseline, or momentum building effect from 1975 to 1985.
  • Then there was the beginning of an acceleration in price from 1985 to 1995.
  • Then there was a big rise in prices from 1995 to the year 2000.

The course of pandemics is similar to the above chart. There is a baseline or momentum building effect, as was the case with the CDC data for 2009 to 2013.

Then follows the beginning of an acceleration of incidence, such as might follow from my extrapolations on HIV incidence in the section of this blog that you are about to read.

After that there is an accelerated phase of the pandemic, during which time it would be good to already have in place the community support measures I propose in the final section of this blog, the “Guidelines for Community Preparation for the HIV Pandemic.”

MY EXTRAPOLATIONS FOR HIV INCIDENCE, 2014 AND 2015

Extrapolating for the East Coast, the Gulf Coast, and California on the basis of the reporting counties in the County View of this map … http://gis.cdc.gov/grasp/nchhstpatlas/main.html?value=atlas [broken link] …

On the East Coast, the Gulf Coast, and California, it appears that the majority of the reporting counties fall in the “darker bluegreen” to “darkest bluegreen” categories, whose HIV incidence per 100,000 for 2014 are 16.3-27.0 and 27.4-178, respectively (see above).

An estimated incidence of 27.4 per 100,000, which would be the border line between these two categories, would be a conservative estimate for these regions for 2014.

I calculate the 2015 incidence as double the 2014 incidence, based on my feeling that we are currently in the moderate acceleration phase of the typical bell curve of an epidemic (as mentioned above, with the stock graph. For more on the bell curve, see “For More Information” below.)

Here are my extrapolations for 2014 and 2015 …

HIV INCIDENCE PER 100,000
2014: 27.4
2015: 57.8

GUIDELINES FOR COMMUNITY PREPARATION FOR THE HIV PANDEMIC

Let us look into the existence of, and efficacy of alternative medical techniques such as homeopathy, healing tinctures and crystals, and energy rebalancing techniques, as well as alternative ways to bolster the immune system, such as healing foods and yoga.

Let us look to our schools and churches as possible places where care may be provided if hospitals should be overstretched. Making plans for such an eventuality, even though it most likely will not occur, will ease the minds of everyone in our communities, I feel.

With a better understanding of the course of epidemics (see “For More Information,” below) it becomes clear that the survival of human beings with resistance to the infecting agent is the key to the survival of the human race.

(For more on the Corporal Works of Mercy, see Link: “Part 10: The Corporal Works of Mercy,” in The Divine Mercy …  http://www.thedivinemercy.org/library/article.php?NID=3479 ..)

In love, light and joy,
I Am of the Stars

Dear Ones,

Intuitively speaking, I have some thoughts on the HIV / AIDS epidemic worldwide.

WHAT ARE THE TRUE HIV / AIDS STATISTICS IN THE UNITED STATES?

The last figures available for the United States are from 2013, and I feel there is a reason for this. The United States may in fact be whitewashing the facts in the arena of health, as in the economic arena, I feel.

The mass media are not effectively addressing the health issues, as well as many other problems now at hand. What we, as concerned citizens, need to do, I feel, is to go out and talk with other people about how things are for them and their family and friends. That way we can get a true picture of what is going on in America.

My own analysis is from the clair plane. Here is what I feel about the HIV / AIDS epidemic: During 2015, I feel, there was a ‘bloom’ in this epidemic in America. At this point, in early 2016, it may be that as many as 50% of our sexually active young people have HIV / AIDS. Further, as much as 80% of MSM (men having sex with men) and IDUs (intravenous drug users) in the United States may now be infected. This, however, is only my clair perception; it will be up to my friends and neighbors to talk honestly with each other and try to discover the truth of the situation.

HIV / AIDS ‘BLOOMS’ IN GROUPS: ALPHA MALE INFECTION AND TRANSMISSION

What Are the True Statistics of HIV Infection in the United States?

14 June 2018: The original article mentions clair perception that as many as 50% of our sexually active young people have HIV / AIDS, and that as much as 80% of MSM (men having sex with men) and IDUs (intravenous drug users) in the United States may now be infected.

Thus these clair perceptions may pertain to percentages after a ‘bloom’ takes place.

Then because of sexual practices termed ‘friendship’ in school restrooms, exchange of bodily fluids may result in HIV / AIDS transmission, and a ‘bloom’ of the virus in a school class.

THE COURSE OF EPIDEMICS

By analyzing the history of other epidemics that have taken place in the world, such as the deadly flu epidemic of the early 1900s, and the Black Plague of the 1300s, we can come to some conclusions about the course of epidemics.

As there are few well documented epidemics in human history, I found it useful also to research information on horse and cattle epidemics, which is plentiful because of the economic interests involved. From this research, I saw that epidemics may occur as ‘common source outbreaks ‘ or ‘propagated outbreaks’ and I found very useful the graphs of common source outbreaks and propagated outbreaks available in epidemic research to do with animal husbandry …

COMMON SOURCE OUTBREAKS

Common source outbreaks occur when everyone in a group is suddenly exposed to a common infecting agent … as was the case in the 2015 Salmonella outbreak in California, which was linked to raw tuna imported from Indonesia. Just about everyone who ate the tuna got Salmonella, and all the people who were infected got the disease at about the same time. This is because there was one common source of infection; everyone ate the tuna and got the Salmonella pretty much simultaneously. For more in this, see …

In the case of common source or ‘point of source’ outbreaks, the epidemic curve looks like a simple bell curve. For example, see …

Graph: Point of Source Epidemic … Cholera, number of cases plotted against dates of exposure (a steep bell curve) … http://epiville.ccnmtl.columbia.edu/assets/images/cholera.gif ..

See how the curve goes along for a while with barely an increase, and then suddenly it jumps up into a ‘spike’ or ‘bloom’? That is how a bell curve looks, more or less.

A sudden, steep rise, like the first half of a bell curve graph, may also be seen just after the ‘incubation period’ of the price of stocks, which is sometimes followed by a sudden, meteoric rise. For instance, below is a chart of the S&P 500 over time. See the long incubation period followed by the large upward spike? Then there are succeeding waves reminiscent of a propagating epidemic outbreak …

PROPAGATED OUTBREAKS

The historic deadly flu epidemic, the black plague, and the HIV epidemic are examples of propagated outbreaks. These are outbreaks in which the disease spreads from one person to the next. In this case, the graph showing the numbers of infected people looks like ever higher waves (or ‘spikes’ or ‘blooms’) of infection. See, for example, this graph …

HIV EPIDEMIC: THE FIRST WAVE

The global HIV epidemic has been very slow moving. It started out in 1959, and as with typical bell curve motion, had hardly any impact worldwide till the 1990s. At that point a first-wave propagating outbreak ‘bloom’ began. As can be see the graphs here …

The first propagating wave peaked in 1996. At this point in time, you will find, in Centers for Disease Control data …

… and in many other blogs, the notion that HIV has been ‘handled’ or ‘controlled’ or ‘conquered’. This is because we have been, between 1996 and 2013, in a trough between the first and the second propagating wave.

HIV EPIDEMIC: THE SECOND WAVE

I am only speaking from the clair plane; the statistics are just not out there online. But intuition very clearly tells me that the slow-motion second wave of the HIV epidemic has hit our children, as well as straight women who date bisexual men, older people who are at risk, including those who are M2M or IDU, and sex workers (both male and female. See, for example …

I posit we are in the midst of a sudden, meteoric rise or ‘bloom’ here in the United States, that this bloom may be known to Urgent Care Centers and larger medical centers across the nation, and that the figures have not found their way to the mass media.

ECONOMIC IMPACT

In Russia, I feel, HIV reporting may be more truthful. See, for example this article …

Link: “Russia’s HIV Epidemic Compounded by Economic Crisis,” by Alina Yablokova , 27 February 2016 … http://globalriskinsights.com/2016/02/russian-hiv-epidemic-compounded-by-economic-crisis/ ..

Wikipedia, I feel, gives a realistic estimate of the effect of the HIV epidemic on the world economy; see …

INFLUENCE OF THE CULTURES OF COUNTRIES

Here in the United States, there is nearly no mass media support for a chaste, family oriented lifestyle. Quite the opposite: For many of our young people, because of the effect of mass media and because of peer pressure, promiscuity starting in early childhood is the norm. Consequently the HIV epidemic is likely to progress more quickly though our country than through more morally conservative countries.

I feel there may be other nations that cherish the ideals of chastity and family life, and whose peoples are less influenced by the mass media. Such countries would be more likely to progress more slowly through the curves of the epidemic. Slowing the spread will not end the epidemic, but it might give these countries more time to plan for changing health care needs and changing economics because of population and workforce stagnation due to AIDS infertility.

THE CURE TO THE ‘AIDS HATRED SYNDROME’

There is something that needs to be said about AIDS in relationship to the emotion of hatred. From the standpoint of the unconscious thought cloud of the world, the word ‘AIDS’ is very ill-conceived. Nothing causes more misery to a person than the diagnosis of ‘AIDS’. How could anyone think that such a diagnosis ‘aids’ a person? On the contrary, I have heard on the clair plane that such a diagnosis makes a person feel partitioned out from the mainstream of society, almost like the diagnosis of leprosy did in Christ’s day.

HIV / AIDS causes an emotional condition I term “AIDS Hatred Syndrome” … sometimes it is also termed “AIDS Rage,” All over the world, people with HIV / AIDS need help, cry out for help, and find themselves shunned by people who are not infected and fear that they may one day be infected.

The AIDS Hatred Syndrome causes those with HIV / AIDS to become callous to the notion of spreading the disease. So what? … they may feel. Do these uninfected people care about me? What should I care whether I infect them or not? And so, feeling embittered, they may being to practice unprotected sex.

The possibility of becoming attuned to AIDS Hatred is very real for longtime HIV survivors. They may begin to feel hatred of all humankind. Because they are the recipient of many violent thought forms from uninfected people, and from people they may have infected, they may develop violent ideation … nightmares and daydreams of treating their tormentors with like violence and inhumanity.

By my intuitive perception, the feeling of hatred is the one thing that will hasten the demise of those suffering from the disease. And so I hold out this hope:

If you have the virus, feel only love. Practice Christ consciousness. This is your test in these times: To feel love, even though love is not returned to you. This is your personal key to the Ascension process.

VIOLENCE BY THE UNINFECTED

There has been some news reporting that intimates China may be using HIV / AIDS infection by prostitutes from its cities as a means of genocide for the Uyghur, a non-oriental ethic group in northwestern China. See …

Link: “HIV / AIDS Spreads Among Uyghurs in China’s Xinjiang,” 11 August 2015, in Radio Free Asia … https://www.refworld.org/docid/55e59cac2b.html ..

In Africa, some time ago, I heard of incidents where older men were raping young girls, with the notion that they were free of the HIV virus. Back then, this was resulting in the very young getting HIV. At that time, I heard, there were villages where all the adults had passed on of the epidemic, and the young teens were doing their best to keep their younger siblings alive. I am hopeful that charities have by now stepped in to ameliorate these dire situations.

Some semblance of these unhappy scenarios may be about to take place in the United States, as awareness of the second wave may be less evident to some segments of the older population.

SEX WORK AND HIV / AIDS

In some countries, decriminalization of prostitution seems to be slowing the spread of HIV / AIDS, possibly because sex workers can more easily seek HIV / AIDS treatment, and treatment lowers the incidence of transmission.

In the United States, where sex work is considered criminal but not hard-line prosecuted in many communities, I have heard on the clair plane that sex workers with HIV / AIDS sometimes find compassionate doctors who will issue them a certificate of clear health, so that they can continue working. If this is so, then it is clear that people here who frequent sex workers will be more likely to contract HIV, even though the sex workers they frequent appear to have a clean bill of health.

THE OUTLOOK FOR THE WORLD

What can we expect ongoing, as wave after wave of the HIV pandemic hits our world? As with past epidemics, we may expect a lowering of the world population, and a slowdown in the world economy. Human pain, grief, and communities’ sense of loss will be intense; thus, the impact in terms of human suffering needs to be taken into consideration.

For those who rely on the Bible, and have an understanding that humankind is now poised on the brink sometimes termed the ‘End Times’ … and called by us Ascensioneers the ‘Time of New Beginning’ … there is a relevant biblical passage …

Revelation 9:13-19 (KJV, public domain)

13 “And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,
14 “Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates.
15 “And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.
16 “And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them.
17 “And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone.
18 “By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.
19 “For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.”

If we take the above Biblical passage literally, then a possible interpretation is that the HIV pandemic will ‘slay the third part of men’. At any rate, the pandemic is bound to cause great Tribulation in the coming times.

During these times, the power of prayer, positive visualization, and affirmations of personal empowerment and love, and the understanding that each of us can help co-create a New Reality, will be of inestimable help to all humankind.

BRINGING BALANCE TO GAIA

In the long run, there is a good effect. The worldwide decrease in the human population will mitigate the harmful impact that human activity has had on Gaia in recent centuries. Decades from now, when the epidemic has run its course, the human population will be more in balance with the plant, animal, and mineral life, the earth and sky and waters of this beautiful planet. And that is a good thing for the generations that will follow ours.

THE CULLING PROCESS AND OUR NEW BEGINNING

In the deadly flu epidemic and the black plague, there was an immediate, radical ‘culling’ of the human population. Those who were resistant, lived. Those who were not, died.

The result of this culling process is very clear. It offers a new beginning with a stronger and more resistant genetic population. For instance, in the case of the flu, catching this disease today is a mundane event for most people who are otherwise in good health. The greatest danger in catching the flu is to the very young, the very old, and those with serious illnesses; these constitute only a small segment of the population.

And so it will be with HIV. Since this current epidemic is very slow-moving, the culling process will be slower than is the case with most epidemics. However, even now, there is evidence of some people with natural immunity to the disease. See for example …

ATTAINING CHRIST CONSCIOUSNESS IN THESE TIMES

I have heard, on the clair plane, of instances of hospitals euthanizing HIV / AIDS babies because no one wants to adopt them. I have also clairly heard of people in the general population about instances of hunting down and murdering men and women with HIV / AIDS. I consider this to be both shortsighted and wrong-headed. These practices only prolong the misery that is to come, because inevitably, those who murder will come down with the infection, and they themselves must then fight for their own survival. As Christ said …

Luke 10:8-9 (KJV, public domain)

8 “And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:
9 “And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.”

In these times of the Ascension, the HIV epidemic offers all humankind an opportunity to practice Christ consciousness, to live to the very highest inspiration that is in us. In all humility, let us recognize our common plight; let us nourish, heal and offer our prayers for those who are in need of our help. Let us not call any person a ‘leper’ or an unworthy person.

This is our supreme test of the End Times: To walk with an unfailing heart through the fields of suffering humankind. To offer love, and hope and faith at a time when many are angry and hopeless and forgetful of the power of God’s healing grace.

Remember: Among those children being born with HIV / AIDS will be those who can carry humanity forward. There will be HIV / AIDS babies who are naturally able to resist this virus, and they will be the future of humanity.

Further, though the weight of succeeding waves of the epidemic may cause a lapse in traditional healthcare, we can look to alternative remedies such as herbs, homeopathic remedies (such as Hyland’s … https://hylands.com/ ), tinctures, essential oils, vegetable juice or water fasts, colonics, and last but far from least, the new technologies of Light and Sound.

And there is more good news, from an Ascension perspective: We Ascensioneers feel that, during the coming Age of Light, our human DNA will be transformed from 2-strand to 12-strand. As this happens, we feel that the answer to all disease, the key to optimum health of humankind, will be Remembered by humanity.

Dear Ones, take heart. Act with Christ Consciousness towards your friends and neighbors, whether they are rich or poor, ‘guilty’ or innocent, healthy or ill, young or old. Let us be One loving, world community.

And more than that, for now this world community is one cherished portion of the All. We have many Star Brethren, and all the Angel Realm, to guide and comfort us.

Dear Ones, know that you are not alone, and that all is well. All that transpires in the coming years will be unfolding as the result of a careful, time-wise, and loving plan … aided by those who have seen humankind and other fledgling beings through many such shining Ascensions … This Divine Plan is in place to help all with that yearning to attain true Christ Consciousness through the grace of the Incoming Light.
