SUMMARY OF THE VIDEO
“Aloof and Alert: On Settling Old Differences”
By Alice B. Clagett
Hello, Dear Ones, It’s Alice. I Am of the Stars.
This is an “Aloof and Alert” post and video with regard to an issue that I’ve been trying to figure out a way to express for years.
It has to do with a situation where, amongst siblings, some of the siblings steal money on the sly from some of the other siblings .. okay … and then are brought to account with regard to that so that they have to give the money back. Okay.
And this creates a problem because the siblings that have done something they ought not have done are set in the way of receiving social opprobrium from their friends and neighbors.
Now in a big city this might not matter too much because people keep to themselves just because there’s so many people around.
They just want to be private.
But in smaller towns and in very small towns, this is a big issue because the people that you have in your social circle are all the people that you’ll ever have to relate to.
In situations where people live in smaller towns in the United States, there’s a number of egregious issues to deal with.
One of those is ostracism by other people in the community.
So if a wrong is done then found out by these other people, then these people may make life very difficult for the person who’s in the wrong, and that person may be forced to move elsewhere.
So what may happen is that person may lie to the people around them and to their children and try and cover up what has gone wrong so that they won’t be cast out of the community.
In fact they may attempt to cast out of their community those people that they have wronged so that those people cannot talk about it.
Another thing that can happen is that they may tell those that do know or that they don’t want to know particularly … could be their children or their friends … never to talk to the people that they have cast out because they have wronged them.
Okay. So this sets up a cycle amongst children and grandchildren who believe that their parent is in the right and that the person who has been ostracized must be in the wrong or bad things might not have been done to them.
So if this were me, I could anticipate that no relevant people who needed to know this message would be watching this video because their parents would have told them never to watch videos from me …
never to talk to me, you know? …
never to find out what’s so until after they die.
After they die, you know, who’s to say? … because they’re not there to talk about it.
So, I think I’ve set the scene here.
Now, there’s a couple of other things I’d like to say about small towns.
I’ve noticed in my stays in small towns here and there in the United States, a tendency of the people who are longtime residents to stick together and to side against new people … be it tourists or people who set up residence there that they don’t know, who have only been around there, you know, for a little while.
And these people are the people that are frequently ostracized by the long-term residents, similar to this other situation.
It’s a big problem with in-group – outgroup in small towns, you know?
So for a person who doesn’t live in a locale and has an issue such as the one discussed earlier, there’s really … there’s very little hope that they could justify or rectify the situation there,
That is because the people there all know each other. The court system knows long-term residents; and even without intending to, they are likely to side with them.
The lawyers are likely to be taken up by the people who are in the wrong, so that there’s no lawyers for the people who who were originally aggrieved or victimized.
Let’s see what else could be the problem.
See, we have ostracism … geological ostracism.
We have … say, in the newspapers there might be scandalous stories about the people that were wronged.
So the shoe is entirely on the wrong foot there.
Everyone in the community is convinced that the stranger must be the bad guy, when in fact this stranger might be the person from whom money was stolen.
Now what does this do to the children?
They can’t get in touch.
They can’t figure out what went wrong.
Maybe it’s just one instance, and the children know, in which case the children get the notion that it’s very important to steal from the person who has originally been victimized and from other people.
They have the feeling that it’s okay to steal.
This is the message … the Soul message they carry down to the next generation as well … to the grandchildren.
So, what I’m thinking is that the very best thing for a parent to do is to talk to their children and explain that they did a wrong thing …
that they did a wrong thing because they were worried about social censure and social outcast issues in their town and that they hope that their children don’t do the same thing. Okay?
And in that way that will give the children a chance not to proceed in their parents’ footsteps with a vendetta or some kind of revenge issue …
because there’s no revenge to be taken. Okay?
There’s no way for the victim to ameliorate the situation because the court system in the hometown won’t allow it.
And there’s in fact no way for that person to attain a proper situation with regard to mail that’s sent over there. You know?
It won’t be forwarded because the person is a pariah.
Or, you know, there may be a court issue where all of the lawyers are taken, say, by the people who were the aggressors in the situation.
So there’s no way to obtain lawyers, you know?
And if group of people in a situation like that all get together …
say, the people who victimized someone else and their friends and their children …
and they petition high authority, you know, such as the police there locally in the town …
or higher yet, the courts …
or moving on to other states [in the United States] …
or moving on to the Federal level. Okay?
The simple fact is that the numbers of these people are so great that these other people …
these people in authority …
tend to cave to the notion that a lot of people have to be right and one person who is ostracized has to be wrong.
It’s a difficult situation.
You know, the whole thing is, I think, you have to live your life with a certain degree of transparency.
You have to be able to admit the things that you do wrong …
and the people in your community have to be able to accept you, you know? …
to accept that you have some faults, and to continue on with their friendships with you and allow you to live in the community.
Open-mindedness is a very important thing. …
And expression of ourselves is a God-given right.
We have the right to speak forth on our own behalf.
We who are victims have a right for the world to know that we were victimized.
Yes. And that redress must take place.
It might take place in the form of a public apology. Okay.
It might take place in the form of explaining to the children what’s really true and [explaining] the ethical way to live.
It’s not right to try to steal things from other people.
It’s not right. Okay?
And in turn the children might explain to the grandchildren the same thing.
This is what I think.
So I hope that I’ve explained sufficiently the difficulties that come up when one person who has victimized another person attempts to place blame on that other person and cast them out of everything …
you know, cast them away from the town that they live in; …
cast them out of the internet;
throw away their friends; …
throw away everybody, you know? …
throw away their family.
Okay. We can’t just make people disappear because we want our faults to disappear.
We have to speak to the truth of our lives.
We have to just take that chance and reveal to the world that we’re not totally perfect.
You know? Now, I’m not talking about myself as a perpetrator.
I know you guys always get it backwards. Okay?
So, in case you’re somebody that ought to be listening, I’m not talking about myself as a perpetrator.
I’m speaking from my own experience as a victim. Okay?
I hope I’ve said enough.
You know, I’m not really sure where to start because that pariah thing, that outcast thing that people do happens all over the world.
It’s really an awful thing. …
totally awful …
totally cruel.
Do your best to be kind to people.
Do your best not to harm them. You know?
Try hard to earn your own way in the world and not steal from other people.
Don’t steal money.
Don’t steal people’s websites.
Don’t steal the stuff on their PCs. You know?
Just don’t steal.
Earn money instead.
You know, it’s very important as a way of life not to crap on everybody, because if you do, all kinds of crap will land on you.
It’s gruesome.
Just don’t … just don’t live that way.
You know? You can follow the Ten Commandments in your daily life.
It’s no big deal.
And you’ll obtain an excellent reputation in your community.
And if you don’t, those people aren’t following the Ten Commandments.
And who cares?
You know? You can find new friends that really believe in being ethical.
You know what I mean?
Okay. So, you know, I’m going to turn comments on.
It’s a big chance, but I’m going to turn comments on.
Well, maybe not.
I heard that there’s a way to move backwards from comments into hacking a person’s website.
That’s why I turned them off.
You know, they say the system is pretty buggy.
And speaking of that, my PC was just attacked.
You know? Systems corrupt.
All kinds of things happen.
People do corrupt things.
And this is life in the third and fourth dimensions.
And we still have to nourish our hearts and live an ethical life in the world.
That’s what I feel.
God bless you all, keep you safe and be with you through all your days.
