Dear Ones,
Above is a great Kp index chart from NOAA/SWPC.
That was quite some Geostorm through which Earth … and we, her children … just surfed, wasn’t it!

MORE INFORMATION
I get my geostorm information from NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center … https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/ … and Space Weather … https://spaceweather.com … and Space Weather Live … https://spaceweatherlive.com … If you take a look at those sites, you will see a wealth of Space Weather information. They are two of my faves!
You might also like SpaceWeatherNews (S0) on youtube, which has daily updates … https://www.youtube.com/@SpaceWeatherNewsS0s/videos … Check out ‘…more‘ beneath the video. Impressive, isn’t it?

Geostorm Scale
Geostorm Index: Mild: G1 … Moderate: G2 … Strong: G3 … Severe: G4 … Extreme: G5.
KP Index: Mild: Kp=5. Moderate: Kp=6. Strong: Kp=7. Severe: Kp=8. Extreme: Kp=9.
For more on this see … Link: “NOAA Space Weather Scales” … https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/noaa-scales-explanation ..
- Kp 5 = G1 (Minor)
- Kp 6 = G2 (Moderate)
- Kp 7 = G3 (Strong)
- Kp 8 = G4 (Severe)
- Kp 9 = G5 (Extreme)
Protonfall Scale
Solar wind speed (km/sec) multiplied by Density (cm3) … Compare to the word: rainfall.
Low Protonfall is from zero to about 3,000.
Moderate Protonfall is from 3,000 to 6,000.
High Protonfall is from 6,000 to 15,000 or higher.
