Hello, Dear Ones, It’s Alice. I Am of the Stars.

It’s Finches. Green Finches.

Green Finch: Finches! Finches! Green green green green. Green green green green. Green green green green. Green green green green.

Alice to Readers: It’s Green Finches. Finches!

Alice to Green Finches: I hear you! Green Finches!

Green Finch: Green green green green! Green green green green! Finches are green green green. Green green green green! (etc.)

Alice to Green Finches (repeating): Yes, we are! We’re Green Finches!

Alice to Green Finches: What a great name! Green Finches!

Green Finch: Finches are green green green.

Songbird (forebearingly): I KNOW thaaaat.

Raven (from afar): Ha ha ha ha ha!

Songbird to Raven (acerbically): THANK youuuu!

Alice to Songbird (mistakenly thinking it was talking to me): You’re welcome!

Songbird to Raven: Why are you laaaughing?

Raven (from afar): Ha ha ha ha ha!

Alice to Readers: The Green Finches are kind of quiet Birds … but very enthusiastic about that name.

Songbird to Alice: Yes, Green Finches aaaare!

Alice to Green Finches: Green Finches! Where did you guys go?

Green Finch 1 to Alice: We’re here in the next bushes. That’s where we aaaare!

Green Finch 2 to Green Finch 1: Why does she want to know that?

Unknown telepathing being: Don’t talk to Alice at all. They’re not in our group of folks at all.

Green Finch 1 to Green Finch 2 (hushed): She can’t see us. That’s why.

Unknown telepathing being: Don’t talk to her.

Alice to Readers: That’s it! Green Finches! They’re so far away … I am sure the camcorder can’t hear. I have awfully good hearing. That’s the thing … really good hearing. Lord knows why.

Songbird 1 (‘town crier’): She HEARS gooood!

Songbird 2 to Songbird 1 (very quiet; quizzical tone): Why would she say that?

Alice to Songbirds: Super hearing! Yeah!

Songbird 2 to Songbird 1 (very quiet; startled tone): She SAYS super hearing!

Songbird 1 (‘town crier’) to Songbird 2 : Yes, YES! She says she has super hearing!

Alice to Songbirds: Not as good as the Birds, but good for a Human Being.

Songbird 1 (‘town crier’): She’s Human Beeeing!

Alice to Songbirds: Yeah!

Songbird 2 to Songbird 1 (hushed): What?

Songbird 1 (‘town crier’) to Songbird 2: She’s Human Beeeing!

Alice to Songbirds: Don’t laugh! Don’t laugh! Aw, you hurt my feelings.

Songbird 2 to Songbird 1 (hushed): WHAT? We hurt her feelings?!

Raven (from afar): Ha Ha HA Ha Ha Ha Ha!

Alice to Readers: Mr. Raven thinks its pretty funny.

Raven spoke to me telepathically just then. Raven just said he wanted to come talk, but he couldn’t right now because something something was in the way … something that starts with an ‘n’ and ends with a ‘y’ … Nanday! Nanday parakeets!

Mr. Raven is laughing uproariously. Can you hear him?

Alice to Raven: Raven! Mr. Raven! … There is a Raven behind me.

Green Finch 1 to Green Finch 2: Finches. Green Finches! She can’t hear us! not very good hearing that Humans have, is it?

Green Finch 2 to Green Finch 1: No, it isn’t! No, it really is not! Humans can’t hear us at all, can they?
