INTRODUCTION

Dear Ones,

Here is the third in the “Chaparral Wildlife Chats” series. These are thoughts on Songbirds, Ravens, Raptors, Humans, and “The Time Machine” Movie. There are comments from a Raven and a Songbird.

SUMMARY OF THE VIDEO

Hello, Dear Ones, It’s Alice. I Am of the Stars.

You know, Songbirds are always talking together. It’s almost like a chat group on a handheld. They talk and talk, and they just go over things with their friends. You know? I don’t think they always reach conclusions about it, but they do talk about it a lot with each other. And they seem to have a good time talking.

So anyway, there was this movie called The Time Machine” (2002), Director Simon Wells. A man in the movie made a mistake and went forward hundreds and hundreds of years … a long long time … many years … to the point where the human species had turned into different sorts of beings.

One species was cattle like, and it was eaten by another species that was Predator like. And then there was an Overlord being .., maybe there were a couple more, maybe various Overlords … but we only saw one in the movie.

The feeling that I get from the Songbirds is that they’re like the people that are like cattle that are being prayed upon by the Predators. The Predators today are the very large Birds like the Hawks and the Raptors and the Prey are the Songbirds apparently.

I’ve been viewing the video, “Bird Language with Clint Corley and Michael Ismerio Part 1,” by Living Web Farms, 18 May 2017, on youtube. It seems very factual. That seems to be the case.

But like the humans who were so cat like in the movie, the Songbirds make up for the the brevity of their lives and the tragedy of being hunted by living each moment to the fullest, and by being very very happy and upbeat and garulous … talking with their friends and so forth … just making the best of it; making the most of it, I feel.

And that’s a good thing to do, don’t you think: If you can’t be a Raptor, you can be a Songbird.

Songbird to Raven: Very funny!

Alice to Readers” If you don’t like being a Songbird, you can go for the Raptor. You know? There are all kinds of human beings. There’s something that’s going to suit each of us in the Bird kingdoms. Is it one Kingdom?

Raven belly laughs.

Songbird to Raven: Quit thaaat!

Alice to Readers: Yeah. There’s always going to be a favorite bird, don’t you think?

Raven: What?

Songbird to Raven: Raven, What did she say just then?

Well, That’s all for now. That’s a Raven over there. The Ravens do not like the Nanday parakeets.

Raven: Hawk!

Alice to Raven: I get I am being impolite. My apologies to Raven!

They just said they steer well clear of them because it creates such a commotion there just no end to it. They just … It’s too much. That’s not the words they used, but that was the intent.
