Dear Ones,
THE TOWHEE
A Poem by Alice B. Clagett
18 February 2012
What would it be like
to tuck my head into my wing
as the sun furled in?
I, with no glimmer of the coming dawn,
and not one care.

ON FAITH
Henry David Thoreau
“How vigilant we are! determined not to live by faith if we can avoid it; all the day long on the alert, at night we unwillingly say our prayers and commit ourselves to uncertainties. So thoroughly and sincerely are we compelled to live, reverencing our life, and denying the possibility of change. This is the only way, we say; but there are as many ways as there can be drawn radii from one centre. All change is a miracle to contemplate; but it is a miracle which is taking place every instant.” –From Citation: “Walden,” by Henry David Thoreau, public domain

ON DESPAIR AND HOPE
Sometimes it seems like the path to the new reality leads through the valley of despair. Sometimes ‘letting go’ takes this form — despair. What is needed to carry us through this creative act of despair? Hope. Faith. Gratitude. Forgiveness. These are the only companions we will need. As King David wrote long ago …
Psalm 23 (KJV, public domain)
23 “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 “He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
4 “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 “Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.”
In love, light and joy,
I Am of the Stars
