My sister died today.

She left behind her
. . . . . . two wild horses
. . . . . . . . . . . . four wild cats
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . a little money

. . . . . . and all her dreams.

She was my younger sister.

I remember
. . . . . . the tricks I played on her
. . . . . . . . . . . . before she learned to walk

. . . . . . the time she found and read my secret diary

. . . . . . how brilliant she was at calculus

. . . . . . how brave she was when push came to shove

. . . . . . how the love of her life
. . . . . . . . . . . . despite a heart once filled with hope
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . turned out to be a no-show

and how,
. . . . . . ‘though she felt, when the die was cast,
. . . . . . . . . . . . there was no one to talk to at all,
. . . . . . Heaven filled up her final days
. . . . . . . . . . . . with the presence of family and friends.
