Dear Ones,
This is an odd post, being as how I never use hard drugs of any sort, and generally forgo even the occasional beer as being too caloric. However, I have read about all the unfortunate ramifications of drug use in the United States, and have been thinking over ways to make things better for our communities …
I was refreshing my memory of the Amendments to the United States Constitution today, and came across some thought-provoking information ..
THE NINTH AMENDMENT TO THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION
Per Wikipedia, the 9th Amendment protects rights that are not set forth in the Constitution …

THE EIGHTEENTH AMENDMENT TO THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION
And then, via the same source, I read that the 18th Amendment made it illegal to manufacture or sell alcohol in the United States. This amendment was repealed on 5 December 1933. As I recall, this was after a lot of violence around bootlegging and illegal hooch parlors.
PARALLELS BETWEEN VIOLENCE AROUND PROHIBITION OF ALCOHOL AND TODAY’S DRUG WAR VIOLENCE
So I got to thinking about the parallels between the prohibition of alcohol, way back when, and the current drug war in America. The similarities are intriguing.
WHAT GOOD THINGS MIGHT HAPPEN IF RECREATIONAL DRUGS WERE FOUND TO BE CONSTITUTIONALLY LEGAL?
What if the 9th Amendment were applied to the 18th Amendment, and recreational drugs were found to be legal …
- Maybe the money and manpower currently being spent on the war against drugs could then be applied to the moral, ethical, and spiritual upliftment of our children.
- To their education in the arts, music, and languages, for instance.
- What if the law enforcement officers now embroiled in, and physically imperiled by, the drug war, were retrained and repositioned as part of this educational effort?
Dear Ones, God bless you all!
In love, light and joy,
I Am of the Stars
