Dear Ones,

The other day, just before dawn, the Coyotes caught the Mother Pack Rat, remember? Then the next day they caught a Cat. Then on 27 July 2026 they caught a Mother Rabbit. This video is about the moment when the Coyotes caught the Mother Rabbit.

Mother Rabbit: I am a RABBIT!
Oh, God! Oh, God!
Why would you do this thing?

Coyote (exultantly): I CAUGHT a RABBIT!

Cricket expresses concern.

Baby Rabbit: Oh, God, Mama!
WHAT is going on?

Mother Rabbit (very muffled sound):
I don’t know. I think they’re going to kill me.

Cricket expresses concern.

Coyote Pup (excited, happy):
Yes, we are, Mama!
Mother Coyote (simultaneously):
Don’t tell him that!

Coyote Pup (laughing happily): Why not?

Cricket is getting upset.

. . . . .

Mother Rabbit: Oh, Dear God! How
could you DO this to me?

Cricket says (over and over again):
Please don’t listen.

Alice to Readers: They caught a Rabbit today.

Mother Coyote (sarcastically): Oh, Dear God!
They are KILLING that Baby’s Mother.
What will her children DO without their MOTHER?

Baby Rabbit (in a pitiful, high-pitched scream):
Dear, dear, dear! They KILLED HER!

Alice to Readers: There it was. There was that. It’s a Rabbit.

Mother Rabbit to Baby Rabbit:
RUN AWAY QUICKLY!

Baby Rabbit (in a high-pitched keen) to Mother Rabbit: All RIGHT!

Cricket: Oh, Dear God, They killed the Mother Rabbit. Oh, Dear God.

. . . . .

Alice to Rabbit: Sorry, Rabbit.

One Coyote (cavalierly): What was THAT all about?
We didn’t kill anybody.
Don’t be so silly about all that.

Another Coyote (simultaneously, jeeringly
repeating Mother Rabbit’s last admonition:
“RUN away QUICKLY!” (3 times)

Cricket: Oh, Dear God! There’s nothing I can do about it.

. . . . .

Cricket: The Cricket will just go back to bed.
That’s what the Cricket will do.
Back to bed right now.
There’s nothing to do about it.
They will do that all the time.
Those cruel animals will do that all the time.

Alice to Readers:
So the Coyotes just gulped down a Rabbit.

Yesterday at this time it was a Cat …
a neighborhood Cat … and the day before
it was the Mother Pack Rat.

Did you hear the Rabbits?
They shriek or scream in a high-pitched voice
when they’re terrified.

I guess that was that, then.
They ate the Rabbit.

It was way over there.
You can’t hear it very well.

Another Rabbit: Oh, Dear God!

Coyote Pups: What is it?

Alice to Oreo Shoes Cat: Did you hear that … that high-pitched scream?

The Same Rabbit to Coyote Pups: That RABBIT was really upset!

Alice to Oreo Shoes Cat: That’s a Rabbit.
And it’s really scared.

Oreo Shoes Cat is listening …

Coyote Pups (animatedly): Yes, I KNOW that!
We were KILLING the Rabbit’s Mother!

Alice to Readers: That’s Oreo Shoes [Cat] there …

Alice to Readers: … She’s not getting eaten
because she’s a great House Cat.

Alice to Oreo Shoes Cat: They’re just eating it. That’s all.
