“Argentine Ants: Field Notes 2”
By Alice B. Clagett

Introduction

Hello, Dear Ones. It’s Alice. I Am of the Stars. These are rough notes that I took last night while I was in the midst of a home invasion by Argentine Ants. They’re kind of disjointed because they kept waking me up and I kept coming up with questions for them. So, it’s not like I planned out a series of questions. It’s more like ideas about questions popped into my mind while I was really tired and trying to sleep and then I would ask them that and scribble them down. So, I’m thinking that these rough notes need to be assembled into a series of related questions later on. So, this is what you get right now. I hope I can read my writing.

We’re in the midst of a terrible heat wave today. It’s down to 98 [degrees]. Yesterday, I think it was a good deal higher. And so, I’m confined to my home with the Ants right now because it’s so hot outside. So it’s an excruciating situation. It’s not like I like to talk to Ants. I dislike talking to Ants immensely, but it’ll give those of you that have an interest in these Insects an unparalleled chance to learn about their society and their ethics and their war tactics and their psychological warfare attempts with humans. So bear with me. I’m trying to read these notes from last night. I’ll start at the beginning.

Queen Ant Asks Baby Ants to Hatch

The Mother Ant talks to Baby Ants and tells them to break out of their shells. So that’s the Mother Ant, the Queen Ant of a colony that sometimes comes into the house and finds other Ant eggs that were stored there that can last a long time, a year or more. And it’s also the Mother Ant for her own Baby Ants. So she wakes them up by talking to them.

Size of a Queen Argentine Ant

The Queen is five times larger than the regular Worker Ants. This is what the Queen told me last night. [I also heard telepathically that the Queen Ant was three times larger than Worker Ants. Is it three times larger, or five times larger?]

Argentine Ant Queens and Drones Are Spokesmen for Their Colonies

By the way, they’re spokesmen for their colony, as are the Drones that attend to the Queen. More on that in a little bit.

A Replacement Queen Is Being Reared During Old Queen’s 5-Week Reign

While there’s one Queen, the Drones raise up a replacement Queen to be ready for when that Queen passes on. The Queen passes on after a month or five weeks max. And this has to do with the strain of producing so many eggs for the colony.

Queen Ant Is Too Big to Walk

The abdomen of the Queen Ant amongst the Argentine Ants is too big to allow her to walk. They tried feeding a Queen less to make her abdomen smaller, but that wasn’t possible. She died anyway. Now, you know something about Queen Ants amongst the Argentine Ants.

Argentine Ant King Is in Charge of Warfare and Psychological Warfare

As you may recall, in this particular colony that’s in my home, a King is elected by the Queen to be the one that’s her mate. And that’s because there were a lot of Drones. There were too many Drones. And she rejected all of them except for one whom she made her King. And that King is also a spokesman for the group; [he is] in charge of warfare and psychological warfare logistics. That means he tells the Worker Ants where to go and what to do.

Argentine Ant Workers Are Architects

The Worker Ants, however, they’re architects and they have the ability to craft places where the Baby Ants will be living, like a hive of places where the Baby Ants will be living. I got the impression they were kind of round places that they put the eggs into until they hatch.

Ant Ethics: Misrepresentation of the Truth to Buck Up Communal Spirits

Here’s something to do with psychology of the Ant culture. The King …when I say ‘the King’ during this video, it means the King Drone Ant that the Queen selected … The King said that the Queen Ant lives five weeks at the most, but they tell her that she will live a year. So, that’s a way of bucking her up and improving her state of mind.

[Similarly, Worker Ants are asked to cheer up their comrades and never to think of past or future. That is so they won’t dwell on the huge mortality rate of the Ants.]

How Long Do Worker Ants Live?

I asked, “Is five weeks the life of all the Argentine Ants?” They agreed, but I got from that not a definite response. I don’t think they want to say how long the Worker Ants live.

Drones Are Born First

I heard that the Drones are born first. They wake up first. And I asked who woke them up. Eventually, I got from the King Drone that he figures nobody woke them up, that they just wake up. But I think there may be some stimulus. It might be heat (I’m not sure) because we are in the midst of a heat wave here.

Recap of Yesterday’s Battle of the Bathroom

Now, you may recall or I may have told you last night while I was really exhausted that the Queen Ant had her antennae lopped off by the King. He said he didn’t want to hear her talk. There had been quite a commotion and a war plan had failed yesterday to do with the bathroom and repairs that I made to strengthen the sacred geometry points so that they couldn’t enter there.

Argentine Ant Surgical Abilities

I asked the Queen about her antenna wounds. I asked her if [they were] hurting her and the Queen said the antenna wounds [do] not hurt because the Ants sutured the wound up with their teeth. I asked if they have glue and she said, “No. They suture it up with their teeth.” Later on I inquired further about this and King Drone told me jocularly … I didn’t know that he was just joking, but Peace Dove found out from his tone of voice that this was just a joke, and Peace Dove told me about it. So, he was just joking. He said that they spit on it and make it better. [This sounds like a Human thought interjected into the Ant’s speech in error.]

And then I found out that there’s something in their blood that probably congeals like our blood congeals on contact with air so that the wounds heal up. There was a discussion about the blood … as you will find out later … and whether it should be called blood or something else. I’m sorry this is so disjointed. This is just how I got the information.

Argentine Ants: Private Property Rights Facilitate Intercolony Cooperation

The King Drone said he was gathering Ants to reinforce the colony next door. That’s the Ants left over from the invasion of the bathroom that failed. The King there at the house next door said, “We don’t want those Ants.” I said, “Why not, if you wake the Ant eggs sleeping in my house when you come in?”

The reason I said that is because those Ant eggs that are there sleeping from the prior year might be from an entirely different colony. So, I was trying to get at whether they adopt other colonies’ eggs or other colonies Workers. The King Drone explained to me. He said, “That’s our territory” … meaning this home was the territory of the colony that invaded this year. And the eggs that were there were considered to be their property, their children. The King next door said that property next door was not the territory of the King Drone from here. So the trouble was [that] they have property rights. The Argentine Ant colonies have property rights. There’s a Drone in charge of the house next door. That’s his colony’s territory. There’s a Drone in charge of this house here. He and his Queen … that’s their territory.

And that’s how they get along as a super colony. They have private property rights just as human beings do. But their private properties are communal to a colony, if you get me. I’m not sure if that’s true of other sorts of Ants. It may be a strength of Argentine Ants, private property rights. So, back to the question of territory next door and territory here. The King Drone from here said Ants don’t work like that. So, then maybe by establishing … I was guessing this last night … maybe by establishing private property rights, they are forming super colonies in California.

Competition Between King Drones May Prevent Colonies from Merging

It could be that the trouble there had to do with the fact there was a Drone here and the Drone over there wanted to be in charge. So there was no place for the Drone at this house to go over to the other house and supervise.

King Drone Decides to Kill All His Workers. First He Lulls Them to Sleep with False Promises.

Okay, this next part’s a little hairy. Nightfall came last night. At nightfall, the King here bade the Workers sleep. He said he would offer a pep talk. Then he said, “We will work again tomorrow.” Then to himself, he said, “I will bite their heads off at the midnight hour.” I said, “And then what?” He said, “Then I will die. A final act of kindness.; that is all. It is so they will not feel pain for lack of food.”

Ant Psychological Warfare: Ants Versus Birds. Emotional Differences Between Birds and Mammals. Joy as a Survival Technique.

He had something to say earlier, to do with the Birds whom he considers [to be] other human beings or like other human beings. He said the Ants think sad thoughts when they want to eat the babies of the Birds. He said, “If the Ants think sad thoughts, the Mother Bird will leave the nest then we can eat the babies.”

That’s psychological warfare, you know, with regard to the Birds … because the Birds hate what they call COVID-stricken thoughts. They hate sadness altogether.

The ability to feel sad is part of the mammalian culture. All the Mammals have this ability, this range of emotions between sadness and great joy and everyday humdrum stuff. But the Birds don’t work like that. They believe in joy and living in the moment … and that, I think, is because of their very high mortality rate. They’re always losing children or spouses and they try not to think about that. They try to concentrate on joy so that they will be better able to survive in an extremely hostile environment. It’s like a taboo for them to think anything sad.

They used to chide me all the time, the Ravens, and say that I should stop thinking sad thoughts. And yet, amongst people, it’s quite normal to feel a range of emotions during the day. It’s quite normal for us. It would be odd if we didn’t feel anything … especially women, don’t you know? Men have to suppress that kind of thing, but women do not. The Ants know about this. They take advantage of this for their psychological warfare. But the Birds are more on our side. They want us to feel joy, and joy is an excellent survival characteristic.

King Ant Eats His Own Sexual Organs Because He Is Hungry

Now, to get back to the Ants: A Worker Ant begged that the King not bite her head off. The King agreed. He said, “I will eat my sex organs.” I said, “Why?” He said, “They look good.” An Ant said, “Don’t eat your sexual organs. Then you will die.” But the king did so anyway. Now, I thought he died, but he didn’t die. That was at sunset. And there’ll be more on that later.

King Ant Is Twice as Big as Worker Ants

I found out the Drone is two times as big as the Worker. The Queen is three times as big … maybe three to five times as big. I asked the Queen about it and she giggled and she said, “He thinks he’s big but he is quite a bit smaller than I.” She said that very diplomatically.

Ant Surgical Techniques

Then … getting back to that Drone that had injured himself by biting off his genitals … He sealed up the genital wound, apparently, in the same way that the antenna wounds of the Queen [were] sealed. I’m thinking that maybe their teeth are kind of saw-blade-like and that they can cut something off in such a way that the that the integument of the Ant seals up like this; and then maybe the blood of the Ant … which I know is different from our blood … wells up there and hits the air and forms a barrier so that it’s as good as new and doesn’t hurt … just like that! That’s what they were intimating last night. I have an interest in that because I have an interest in health and medicine. As to the Drone, he said he sealed up his genital wound with a suture. Then it healed. So that fluid that’s inside of the Drone did not leak out. That was when he talked about a drop of spit. And Peace Dove told me that he could tell by his tone of voice he was just pretending.

Peace Dove Is an Interspecies Diplomat. Meaning of Interspecies Versus Intraspecies.

Peace Dove is an adept at reading emotions and figuring out whether or not what’s being said is true or just pretend. So Peace Dove is extremely valuable to me in regard to interspecies communication. Interspecies communication means communication between species … for example, communication between a human being and some other sort of being. such as a Bird or an Ant or a Coyote, as you’ll see from another video that I made this morning.

Deepfake: King Ant Pretends to Be a Worker Black Ant Female so as to Eat Them

Now, getting back to these helter skelter notes, I heard the Drone way out in the front yard. Apparently, the King Drone went very quickly off from the bathroom and way out to the front yard. I found out that the Drone had excised his sexual organs so as to resemble a Worker Ant. Then he found Black Ants out in the front yard. They don’t live in houses. They live out in the yard. And he joined a group of marching Black Ants intending to eat one of them.

He was dissimulating and pretending he was a Female Worker Ant. And it was getting dark, so they may not have been able to tell he was brown and they were black. And then the Ants … the Black Ants … said, “Oh, we did not know you were not one of us. We don’t want you here.” Then there was a scuffle or a fight. And the King Drone from over here said angrily, “I do want to eat one of you!” But there was a melee.” And according to the Black Ants, he did not eat any of those Ants.

[The Black Worker Ants found out that he was a large male Ant … a Drone that had cut his genitalia off … and that he was a strong fighter because he was a Drone, not a Worker Ant.] I don’t know if they killed him. I thought maybe they had just stopped him from fighting them.

Human Warfare with Ants: Winning Strategies

I hate to say it, but they’re awfully bright and awfully well organized. I think we should take this into consideration. Of course, the way that most people approach fighting Ants is [this]: They just get down to it and they just deal with it and they kill whatever comes into the house and they seal things up as best they may. And I think that’s a good psychological approach … because if we delve deeply into their culture and become one with them through empathy, it’s not going to help our cause. We have a job to do. We have to survive and so forth. I’m only just talking about this from the point of view of the naturalist. I’m an amateur naturalist and I have an interest in other cultures that may prove helpful later on … I hate to say it, but maybe in regard to the interspecies war that’s going on right now and probably will be ongoing for a long time in the future. So, these are war notes. I’m not a warlike person. I’m more like Peace Dove, but these are war notes because I’m in the midst of a war and a heat wave right now.

Bathroom Ant Drones and Worker Ants Make Plans to Survive

Now, getting back to the colony that was in the bathroom: The other Drones stayed with the Worker Ants that were trying to figure out what to do because the Queen was incapacitated and could not communicate with the group because her antennae had been sheared off. She needs her antennae for telepathy. And the Drone had apparently just gone crazy and gone out into the front yard and tried that mercenary thing. And what was left were the Drones that had been unmatched with the Queen and the Worker Ants in the bathroom. Right?

So tentatively, these inexperienced Drones were trying to figure out what to tell the Worker Ants to do. And what they did [was this]: They said every Worker should forage for food on her own and they should not share with other Workers and should not feed the babies. One Worker Ant suggested eating the DominAnt. That’s a 1% boric acid solution that I put at their entry point outside the house. They were discussing that, and the Ants said … they have already sussed out boric acid poisoning … They said that boric acid … ‘the poison’, they call it … kills the Babies and the Queen but it does not kill grown Worker Ants or Drones.

And so the suggestion was bandied back and forth that maybe the Workers could eat it but not feed it to the Babies, and that would be a source of food. I don’t know that any conclusion was reached with regard to that. I have to say, boric acid is not working outside because the Ants just bypass it now. They know that it’s a poison and they won’t eat it. That leaves me with nothing by way of defense except to seal them out of the house.

[I wonder if this would work? … First put out a 1% boric acid solution such as DominAnt. That might kill the Queen and the Baby Ants.

Then the next day, put out a 3% or higher boric acid ant bait such as Terro, MotherEarth, or InTice so as to kill the Worker Ants.]

A Bad Dream About Argentine Ants Plotting to Overthrow Humans

At 1:00 a.m., I suddenly woke up with a bad dream that the Peace Dove could hear the Ants talking inside the walls of the house and planning to overcome us … as could I hear this. So, I got up. I was half asleep. It wasn’t time to wake up. I got up and took a good flashlight and checked all around Peace Dove’s room and I couldn’t find any Ants there. It could be a precocious dream … a dream about the future. So, today I’m going to work on sealing off the place where Peace Dove sleeps in its cage, all the area around the patio door there, and so forth, to prevent incursions. I already have my plan set to prevent this thing from happening.

A Sweet Sound of Singing In the Attic of My House – Was This the Ants?

When I woke up at 1:00 a.m., I could hear a high sweet voice of singing in the attic. And I videotaped that. I just don’t know if you can hear it or not because the competing sound was the sound of the refrigerator in the kitchen. I’ll play a little of that. It was a very uncharacteristic sound. It sounded to me like the Baby Ants were singing … and that they only do this when they think people will be asleep.

[This is the audio of what I thought was the Ants singing in the attic, but I can’t hear them singing on the video. Can you? I can’t figure out what the ‘Click, click, click!’ sound is either!]

Do you hear that sound? I think the Ants are making that sound. Can you hear it?

Sound warfare!

How the Argentine Ants Select a Queen

I asked the Ants, “Do you have a a new Queen yet?” They said, “No, we have a process for selecting the Queens.” I said, “What’s that?” They said, “We wait for one that doesn’t believe in that elementary thing. We don’t believe they should eat us.” [They wait for one that
doesn’t want to EAT them?]

I said, “And …?” (hoping to find out more about qualifications). They said, “We wait for one that doesn’t want to be Queen. That’s a compliment to them.”

Bathroom Drone Explains What the Singing in the Ceiling Meant

I asked the Ants about the singing in the ceiling: “What’s that?” There was a new Drone that was the one in charge in the bathroom. I’m calling it the Bathroom Drone. The Bathroom Drone said, “I woke them up.” I said, “Who are you?” The Bathroom Drone said, “The Solitary Drone.” I guess that means it had no Queen. I said, “Where are the Workers?” The Drone said, “I killed them all.” I said, “Why?” The Drone said, “They didn’t like me much. I did that to their Queen.” My own analysis of this unsettling series of events is that last night there was a breakdown of the social order of the Ants. I asked who was singing in the ceiling. The Solitary Drone answered it was Ants who had been sleeping. He said he woke them up. The Ants said they planned to invade my living space through the ceiling. Another Ant warned them I could see them if they did this. That’s because the ceiling is a light color and the Ants are brown, I think.

Worker Ants Are Encouraged Not to Think About Past or Future

I asked, “Do you know where you came from?” They said, “No, we don’t.” I asked, “Do you think about what came before or what will happen later on?” An Ant said, “No, we don’t. We have no business thinking about what happened long ago or what will happen when we are doing this. By that the Ant meant the current work project of invading from the ceiling. The Ant seemed embarrassed. I wondered if I had broken a taboo. I asked, “Do you know there are other Ants?” The Ant said, “Yes, we do. We know there are other Ants all around.” Then she asked herself, Why is she asking these things? … meaning me, why am I asking these things? I asked, “Did I ask the wrong thing?” The Ant said, “The work at hand is what we do.” I said, “Am I asking the wrong thing?” The Ant said, “We don’t think about things like that.” I said, “Why not?” The Ant said ‘they’ … meaning a prior generation of their Ants … thought we might do that ‘hallelujah thing’ if we taught them that. I said, “What is that ‘hallelujah thing’?” The Ant said, “They might give up all hope.” I said, “Why is that?” The Ant said, “Because too many die” … meaning too many Ants die.

Coping Mechanisms for High Mortality Rates: Birds Versus Argentine Ants

The Songirds treat that topic by promoting that their children and that they feel joy all the time … joy to be alive. And so they don’t think about their mortality rate. But the Ants are doing this differently. They’re telling their Workers not to remember anything about the past or future … to concentrate just on the moment at hand. On the other hand, the Drones know something about what came before and what came after, apparently. The Bathroom Drone said to this Ant that had been talking, “Don’t think of anything at all. Leave that to me. Just work hard. Try to cheer up everyone around you.” And the Ant said, “Last night he killed half the Ants. We don’t think of that.”

So, this Ant that was talking to me, a Worker Ant in the ceiling, was explaining part of the reason why the Drones tell the Worker Ants not to think of anything else. [It was] because apparently the Drone killed that half of the Worker Ants in the bathroom that didn’t like him because he had harmed the Queen. And the Ant that I talked to, the one in the ceiling, excused his behavior. That Ant said, “We wanted social order. He attempted to reestablish it.” Quite interesting, is it not? I mean, could this possibly be true? Apparently, it is true.

What the Ants Do to Humans Who Attempt to Influence Them Through Mental Suggestion

There was another right mean thing that happened very early this morning around 2:00 a.m. I was attempting to mentally influence the Ants in the ceiling to go away. And at first they were convinced it was an Ant, I was talking Ant lingo … kind of low-key Ant lingo. And then they heard my thoughts and they knew that it was me. And then they sought revenge. They threatened me. They said, “We can hurt your heart” … which they didn’t do but which they thought they could do. Then they said, “We can cause you to have a headache.” And I did feel a twinge of headache in my head that quickly went away. And then I felt a tickle on my forearm; and they said, “We can walk on you.”

They’re a spookout, these Ants. You know,? They really are. I don’t know how they can create a mental impression that they’re doing things that probably they can’t do. AAnd it could be that
they think they can do them too. You know?

Speciescentrism, Interspecies Cooperation, and Human Survival on Earth

I guess every species thinks that it’s right super. Ants are no exception … and humans are no exception. We may think we’re capable of things we’re not capable of. We may think there’s no need to cooperate with other species here on Earth. But I think as many species as we can cooperate with, we should cooperate with … because there are many extremely hostile species … among those [are] these Argentine Ants. They’re a real challenge for our continued existence on Earth. But that’s another chapter, and one that each of you needs to discover and read on your own.

Conclusion
