Hello Dear Ones, It’s Alice. I have a poem for you about societal expectations and cellular joy that I wrote last year … 2014 … It is called “The Rage the Body Feels”

The Rage the Body Feels

All day long
the mind of the world
buggy-whips
the wild stallions
of the emotions
of humanity…

Apparently
in hopes that they will
morph into
carriage mares.

You’re too fat!
you’re too thin!
you’re too old!
you’re too young!

You’re too cranky!
you’re too lusty!
you’re too shy!
you’re too holy!

You don’t suit
the true me
in the nariest,
not in the least…

And so…

wheeling and kicking
my human feelings learn
that they can be
much
much
meaner

Each little tiff
surlies down
into my body cells …
fit to rape and maim
fit to kill

Fit to be untied
fit to be free
fit to be loved
as they love me

Purely, simply, right on,
in my face, deep down, bone deep
is the love of my cells
my deeply feeling body cells
for me.
