Dear Ones,

I wrote up these notes in April 2018, with a hope that I would soon finish them off. More than a year later, I have to figure I may never get round to that. I apologize to my reader that they are presented here in outline form …

THOUGHTS ON PROVIDING STAGE ONE WORK FOR THE CALIFORNIA HOMELESS AT LESS THAN MINIMUM WAGE, IN EXCHANGE FOR SOCIAL SERVICES

I have a thought that Stage One work might be provided the California homeless at less than minimum wage, in exchange for social services such as State One housing, necessary medical treatment, food, and temporary housing.

I note we have precedents in paying less than the minimum wage, here in America: Commission sales work, work on small farms, and newspaper delivery, for instance …

Link: “When Must Employers Pay the Minimum Wage?, updated by Sachi Barreiro, Attorney, at NOLO … https://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/employers-pay-minimum-wage-law-29600.html ..

Prison Work Programs for Less Than a Dollar an Hour

Then there is the special instance of prison labor, where inmates have the voluntary option to work, for less than $1 an hour …

Link: “How Much Do Incarcerated People Earn in Each State?” by Wendy Sawyer, 10 April 2017, in Prison Policy Initiative … https://www.prisonpolicy.org/blog/2017/04/10/wages/ ..

Thus we have a precedent, in the exceptional circumstance of incarceration, for offering work at a great deal less than the minimum wage. Could we build upon this precedent by offering work training to our felons or released felons or homeless, at far less than minimum wage?

If the precedent might be stretched in this way, then we might have the setting for an economic bounce-back, here in California, as greater numbers of the currently unemployed are able to find employment.

Prison Release Work Camps. I am thinking that something like this might be good if, for lack of funds, we have to release the prison population. For those who are ‘unregenerate’ … to use an old-time term … work camps might be set up or ‘rough and tumble’ work might be provided as an alternative to imprisonment, at greatly less than the minimum wage. This topic I discussed in a little more detail here …

Link: “Ought the United States, like North Korea, Have Forced Labor?” by Alice B. Clagett, published on 21 May 2019 … https://wp.me/p2Rkym-cQw ..

A Stage One Consideration in Employing California’s Homeless at Less Than the Minimum Wage

Here is a Stage One consideration: Let’s try to figure out some way to get around the minimum wage, for people who are unhomed, and who are receiving extra social services, in the event the United States government is not able to participate, here in California, in ameliorating the situation, and easing the social unrest.

For instance, could we offer something more akin to prison labor … voluntary labor, and a very small wage, in exchange for housing and food and medical care? Could we offer that, in camps especially set up for that?

What would be the long-term situation with regard to those that California cannot now find work for at minimum wage, and who must find work? If employment at less than minimum wage in exchange for social services were to be offered as a temporary, short-term Phase One, then what would be Phases Two and Three?

THOUGHTS ON SLOWING THE SPREAD OF HIV AND AIDS IN PRISONS

On Isolating HIV-Positive Prison Populations in Cell Blocks, Together with HIV-Positive Prison Guards

In United States prisons, HIV tests might be used to separate the HIV-positive prison populations … and the HIV-positive prison guards … physically, from those prisoners and guards who are HIV-negative. These tests need to be performed every 6 months, as I understand it, and also one month after possible exposure to the virus. HIV tests might be made routine in prison medical facilities, not only for the safety of prisoners and guards, but also for the sake of the infectable law-abiding populations upon whom prisoners might prey, either as prostitutes or as sexual predators, after their release.

Conjugal Visits

I think that, to prevent the spread of HIV and AIDS amongst United States prison populations, we ought to consider allowing conjugal or significant other visits in our federal prisons, and in those state prisons that currently do not do so.

Conjugal visits might lead to less intercourse amongst inmates, and less intercourse between inmates and prison guards, so that HIV might spread more slowly amongst the prison population. I feel that conjugal visits might also lead to less violence amongst prisoners.

Such a policy also might help prisoners who have been in long-time-paired relationships to preserve those relationships while imprisoned. It might help families stay together through the financial hardship of imprisonment of a parent, and that might positively affect community life.

HUMAN TRAFFICKING OF IMMIGRANTS TO THE UNITED STATES, COMPARED TO THAT IN CHINA

I have been perusing the “CIA World Factbook” online …

Link: “World Factbook,” by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) … https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/ ..

… and have found it full of information pertinent to forestalling social unrest in California. For instance, from my reading, it seems to me that the human trafficking of immigrants to China from North Korea in our lifetime is, in some ways, analogous to the human trafficking of immigrants to the United States from Mexico.

How China Deals with an Influx of Minimally Employable People from North Korea

Apparently, there are masses of people in North Korea, whom the government forces into forced labor in China …

“… North Korea does not fully comply with minimum standards for the elimination of [human] trafficking and is not making significant efforts to do so; the government continued to participate in human trafficking through its use of domestic forced labor camps and the provision of forced labor to foreign governments through bilateral contracts; officials did not demonstrate any efforts to address human trafficking through prosecution, protection, or prevention measures; no known investigations, prosecutions, or convictions of trafficking offenders or officials complicit in trafficking-related offenses were conducted; the government also made no efforts to identify or protect trafficking victims and did not permit NGOs to assist victims (2015) …” –from Link: “CIA World Factbook, North Korea,” in the section: Transnational Issues … Subheading: Trafficking in personshttps://www.cia.gov/library/publications/resources/the-world-factbook/geos/kn.html … public domain

Korean people also may flee to China of their own free will so as to escape starvation …

“… risking arrest, imprisonment, and deportation, tens of thousands of North Koreans cross into China to escape famine, economic privation, and political oppression … –from Link: “CIA World Factbook, North Korea,” in the section: Transnational Issues … subheading: Disputes – International https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/resources/the-world-factbook/geos/kn.html … public domain

Those types of labor available to trafficked peoples sometimes may be beneath the level of misery that is acceptable here in the United States …

Link: “Trafficking in Persons Report June 2017,” by United States of America Department of State … https://www.hsdl.org/?view&did=801874This is a pdf download.

It might be prostitution. It might be illegal activities such as theft. It might be begging. They might be held by gangs that are ‘beneath the law’ and forced to be members of those gangs. This, to me, is unacceptable.

How the United States Deals with an Influx of Minimally Employable People from Mexico

The situation with immigrants from North Korean to China is analogous, in some regards, to the situation with immigrants from Mexico to the United States. Immigrants from Mexico are not forced by the United States government into inhumane kinds of labor, but they may find themselves in those kinds of situations … living In dug-out caves in the Earth, for instance. And doing seasonal, migrant labor. Or young women or children may find themselves forced into lives of prostitution by pimps.

One thing we might look at, going forward, is how job training might be offered new immigrants, here in the United States, so as to broaden the scope of job opportunities for which they are eligible. This type of job training is doubly beneficial: It helps raise the living standard of immigrants; and it helps lessen the spiritual burden of human trafficking in the United States and uplift our nation through good works in our community.

The philanthropy we offer those caught in the throes of human trafficking is a kindness we offer our children as well, for they will look forward to a better educated community through whose informed choices may be sculpted a brighter tomorrow for all America.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, I feel that Los Angeles in particular, due to such stressors as homelessness and released felons, faces the spectre of social unrest at present. What to do? I feel we must look at what other countries do when faced with these stressors. We must not turn away from innovative solutions simply because we feel they are beneath us, as Americans.

I feel it is because we feel this: that the lesser good we are able to provide the homeless and released felons is beneath us, and unworthy of them, that we have found ourselves for ten years to be in stalemate as a city.

We are unable to provide the level of benefits and care that has been, with hopeful optimism, voted into California law. Massive problems lie before us, and have done so for 10 years now. California is a Sanctuary State for those fleeing from downright extermination in the crueler states of our great Union.

Though we are that to many, we have not the funds to help those seeking sanctuary in the manner afforded the homeless, the helpless, those seeking shelter, food, and work in days of old.

Here in Los Angeles we must make bold to provide what we may to those who have nothing at all. Though it be against the laws of our nation, and against those of our State, we must do what we can. We must offer what we may. We must open our hearts, still our doubts, and come up with sensible, novel solutions to the new problems that lie before us.

In love, light and joy,
I Am of the Stars

Ground Zero: How Will an Insolvent California House Its Homeless? . by Alice B. Clagett

    • Favelas as Housing?

    • Free Zone with Offer of Landfill Building Materials
  • CONCLUSION

Dear Ones,

It is possible that the slow roll of the HIV – AIDS pandemic will provide relief from the California housing crisis over time, by slowing or halting population growth over the next 10 or 20 years. But in the meantime, we have a homeless problem that is impossible to solve, using the current measuring stick for adequate housing, because the solutions put forth are too costly, considering the state of the California budget.

Have we not done next to nothing for some years now, because we have not the money on hand to live up to our expectations in housing the homeless? And in the meantime, they are suffering and dying on our streets, right beneath our gaze.

Clearly, we must give up our grand expectations, and find what we are able to do, and do that … even if it be the humblest gesture … right now. Let us start from what we are able to do, rather than what we think we ought to do … And provide some form of housing, no matter how humble, for our unhoused population.

WHAT IS CALIFORNIA REALISTICALLY ABLE TO PROVIDE ITS HOMELESS RIGHT NOW?

Considering the harsh reality of the existence of an uncountable number of Californians housed in the dirt, and working in the earth: What can we do right now, starting from ground zero, to improve that situation? We might look at what other countries too poor to help their indigent in a grand way yet may offer as Stage One housing.

Favelas as Housing? For instance, at the very least, can we provide for our homeless land set aside for a favela-type existence, as is available in the poor sectors of Brazilian cities?

Image: “The favelas of Niteroi, Brazil – March 2011″ … https://i.pinimg.com/736x/78/b4/02/78b402c949b17c32daacd2918c6ff2db–favelas-brazil.jpg ..

Cardboard Packing Crate, or Old Tire Housing. If cardboard, packing crate, or old-tire housing works for the unhomed in Tijuana, maybe we could provide that type of housing here …

Image: “Tijuana Houses: Slums and City” … https://i.pinimg.com/originals/aa/2a/b2/aa2ab250bc938f04d2da53d11c090dac.jpg ..

Free Zone with Offer of Landfill Building Materials. Are we able to rummage through our landfills, and find building materials that they can use? Is this a possibility?

Might we establish a free zone, where they can build and squat? And might we haul in building materials from our dumps so that they can use them?

CONCLUSION

This I see as an urgently necessary in the solution of the homeless dilemma: To find the homeless a safe place to be, no matter how humble. We must start where we are, and do what we can, even if it be no more than that which the underdeveloped nations are able to provide their homeless and indigent populations.

VIDEO BY ALICE

SUMMARY OF THE VIDEO

Hello, Dear Ones, It’s Alice. I Am of the Stars.

I have a topic to discuss that I have been putting off … Please excuse me. It has to do with the likelihood of a Carrington effect, and the short-term consequences resulting from that, due to the fact that, here in the United States, we are very technologically oriented and electronics oriented.

As you may know, in 2012 Pete Riley of Predictive Science, San Diego, CA, calculated the probability of a Carrington event in the next 10 years at approximately 12%; here is the paper …

Link: “On the probability of occurrence of extreme space weather events,” by Pete Riley, in “Space Weather,” received 16 September 2011; revised 18 November 2011; accepted 22 December 2011; published 23 February 2012;  Vol. 10, S02012, doi:10.1029/2011SW000734 … https://agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1029/2011SW000734 … 2012 … http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1029/2011SW000734/pdf ..

Carrington Effect and Transportation Worldwide

I would like to put forth the notion that a Carrington Effect, in addition to the damage that it might do to the power grids … making gasoline unavailable here in the United States, and elsewhere in the world, for weeks, months, or possibly, years … might also instantaneously halt transportation here in the United States, and elsewhere in the world, because of the electronics in the engines and in the systems of cars now.

My question is: Would a Carrington effect most likely destroy sensitive electrical and electronic mechanisms in cars … such as ignition coils, generators, mechanical distributors, and starting motors … making it no longer possible for transportation to take place?

So this is a Call to Action regarding mitigation of that possibility. What can we do, to prepare ourselves for lack of transportation for, say, a week or two weeks, or maybe an extended length of time?

Effect on People Who Are Homebound and on Oxygen

For instance, with lack of transportation, one of the things that might happen is that people who are homebound and on oxygen are no longer able to obtain oxygen. They need to talk over this possibility with their healthcare providers, and try to keep on hand additional, emergency containers of oxygen.

I know this is possible because, for instance, in snowbound areas, as I recall, Medicare will provide those kinds of large containers, full of oxygen, in case the electricity goes down. I would like to suggest that all people who are on oxygen have those containers on hand, because of the likelihood of the Carrington Effect affecting transportation, and making it difficult or impossible for replacement oxygen canisters to be delivered to homes for some length of time.

Advantage of Owning an Older Car with Less Susceptible Electrical and Electronic Parts … and a Bicycle or Foot-Powered Scooter

If you are able, or have the money, or if you are thinking of trading to a new car, may I suggest the type of car that has no electronics in it … that very basic car? I think that is a good plan for the future.

Possibly even more helpful would be to have on hand a bicycle with a carrying basket on the front or back, or a foot-powered scooter on the handlebars of which shopping bags can be suspended.

Public Water Supply May Fail

In addition, in terms of water supply, my understanding is that there is a powerhouse that pushes the water from the storage area to the various homes somehow. I do not know how this takes place, but if it is true, and if the power goes out because of the Carrington Effect, then we will have no water. For instance, in towns where water is gravity-fed from a water tower, it must be that electricity is needed to pump the water up into the tower. Without electricity, such a water supply system would fail, would it not? So, everyone has to look into alternatives of water supply, in the event of a Carrington Effect.

Thoughts on Storing and Cooking Food

Of course, there is an issue of storing food, and of cooking the food. I suggest keeping on hand small cans of food that are already hydrated … that do not need extra water … and that have protein content in them. This is because, if the Carrington Effect takes place, there will be no refrigerators to keep the food in large containers refrigerated, and it will spoil. So, individual, or family-sized containers of canned food are the best bet … Say, beans in cans. Maybe instant rice, or oats that are ‘quick oats’ would be possibilities, if a fire source can be provided. All this I have written up in this blog …

Link: “Pioneer Skills: Planning for Tough Times Ahead,” by Alice B. Clagett, published on 19 September 2017; revised … https://wp.me/p2Rkym-7H3 ..

… so you can look it up there as well. If we were suddenly reduced to pioneer circumstances, then you would want to have on hand, in your house, at least the least expensive ways of sustaining life until the power grids and transportation are restored.

What If Parents Are Stranded at Their Workplace, and Children at Their Schools, as a Result of a Midday Strike of the Carrington Effect?

Also as a result of possible transportation take-down, if the strike of the Carrington Effect were to take place, say, midday, there would be an issue of how families might be reunited, so that they would be better capable of surviving, during the interval before power is restored.

How will parents get home, if their job takes them far from their home? How will children get home from school? Is there a plan in place, to help with that?

Suppose they cannot get home? Then, is there a plan for survival at the place where the parents work?

Do people who work far from home keep a comfortable, sturdy pair of walking shoes at work, in case they must walk home?

Is there a plan for survival at the school where the children are?

If part of the family arrives home … say, the children … and the parents cannot, then do the children know what to do, so as to protect themselves and sustain themselves, until the family is reunited?

Highrises May Be Rendered Uninhabitable. I note also, in this regard, that people who live or work in highrises, or in buildings with windows that will not open, might find these buildings unusable, after a Carrington Effect, for lack of ventilation and inoperability of HVAC. (Or, occupants might keep on hand tools for cutting holes in the windows, for ventilation.)

Shall We Establish Community Granaries?

Here is something else: Could each community provide something along the lines of the Babylonian Granaries (grain storage facilities)? In Jewish times as well, the person in charge of a group of people would have a grain store, just in case of times of difficulty such as a Carrington Effect would cause.

Image: “A Wheat Receipt Issued by Two Officials of the Granary at Babylon (Old Cairo) – Egyptian National Library Inv. No. 126.87 AH / 706 CE” … https://www.islamic-awareness.org/history/islam/papyri/enlp10 ..

Would there be a place … say, a deserted supermarket … where supplies could be kept and doled out, in the way that rations were doled out during World War II?

This is something that each community could decide upon, and provide for on its own … Powdered milk for mothers with children, for instance. And maybe grain stores … cornmeal, flour, and the other things that I have suggested, such as rice and beans, could be on hand and could be given out, in the way that these supplies are given out in developing countries during catastrophic natural disasters.

On Planning to Repurpose Our Military Might to the Home Front in the Event of a Natural Disaster Such as a Carrington Event

We need to look to the home front right now, I feel.  It would be good to draw back our troops, in an organized way, as conflicts begin to cease, worldwide … considering, also the difficulty of getting our men and armaments home in the event of global power grid difficulties … and instead, develop a plan, on the home front, for caring for our communities during a crisis … maybe, extended times of crisis, the Carrington Effect being only one such.

That is my thought for today. I wish you all the very best.

In love, light and joy,
I Am of the Stars

Dear Ones,

ARE CALIFORNIA HOUSING COSTS UNREALISTICALLY HIGH?

Apparently, California housing costs are the highest in America …

Link: “California’s High Housing Costs: Causes and Consequences,” from the Legislative Analyst’s Office, 17 March 2015 … http://www.lao.ca.gov/reports/2015/finance/housing-costs/housing-costs.aspx ..

This is odd, because people are less in need of housing in California than elsewhere in the nation, because of the mild climate here. Why are housing prices so high?

Could it be that the housing codes here unrealistic, considering the influx of homeless and migrant workers, (1) and the release of felons onto the community due to inadequate funds to keep them in prison? (2)

EFFECT OF LOS ANGELES WATER PRICES ON HOUSING AFFORDABILITY

Stopgap measures have been initiated to fund desperately needed Los Angeles programs, including skyrocketing water prices, and increases in property taxes for homeowners …

Link: “LA DWP, Other Utilities to Raise Water Rates Because of Drought,” by Mike Reicher, published 20 October 2015, updated … https://www.dailynews.com/2015/10/20/la-dwp-other-utilities-to-raise-water-rates-because-of-drought/ ..

Thus the price of owning a home … which is out of range for the many Californians … has become about twice as high in the last decade … There is the price of the mortgage, about equaled by the increased price of utilities and property taxes.

We cannot afford lawns any more. Many people are taking bucket showers rather than ‘real’ showers. In the streets, under the river overpasses and freeway bridges, on vacant lots and in the parks, the homeless cluster, disconsolate, often drunk on rotgut liquor, posting guards in turn to prevent violence upon their small groups, beyond any hope of shelter.

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EMPLOYMENT OUTLOOK

I would like to take a look at the longer-term effect of the stopgap measures that have been effected, so as to keep the Los Angeles city government running …

Apparently, higher housing prices will attract less jobs to California. This means that people will be less able to afford the homes they have. Those who rent will find home ownership out of reach. And those without homes will be unable to rent …

Link: “Sky-high rents and home prices are making it hard for Southern California businesses to attract workers,” by Andrew Khouri, 22 February 2018 … http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-housing-costs-economy-20180222-story.html ..

WATER SUPPLY MAINTENANCE IN LOS ANGELES

Let’s look at water supply to Los Angeles …

Los Angeles is a desert town. Of itself, it is without means to provide water for its population. The water we have is imported from other places, and this may contribute to its cost.

In addition, there is the infrastructure that distributes water throughout Los Angeles. This, like the roads, is aging. Rather than providing a maintenance schedule, we are providing repairs when water mains break. My thought is, our city must not have the revenue for a preventive maintenance schedule for our water distribution system …

Link: “L.A.’s aging water pipes; a $1-billion dilemma,” by Ben Poston and Matt Steven, 16 February 2015 … http://graphics.latimes.com/la-aging-water-infrastructure/ ..

ROAD MAINTENANCE IN LOS ANGELES

How about road maintenance in Los Angeles? Here again, revenues are insufficient for a good road maintenance schedule …

Link: “Poorly maintained roads cost Southern California drivers $2,800 a year,” by Brenda Gazzar, Daily News, published on 17 August 2017; updated, in Los Angeles Daily News …  https://www.dailynews.com/2016/08/17/poorly-maintained-roads-cost-southern-california-drivers-2800-a-year/ ..

LAW ENFORCEMENT IN LOS ANGELES AND IN THE SANTA MONICA MOUNTAINS NATIONAL RECREATION AREA

How about law enforcement? In the cities, I feel, police response is quite good. However, there is the area of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area (SMMNRA), which is currently essentially a lawless zone. According to Wikipedia, the SMMNRA comprises 156,671 acres (63,403 ha) …

Map: SMMNRA … http://rimofthevalleycoalition.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Screen-Shot-2016-02-17-at-6.17.05-AM-1-800×445.jpg ..

I have checked, and there is one ranger assigned to this area. That is, effectively, the police patrol for the entire area.

Thus, lawlessness in the mountains is on the rise, especially in areas with natural water flow, and which are contiguous to populated areas. It reminds me a little of stories of the old days in Los Angeles, when cattle rustlers and horse thieves used to establish hidden outlaw strongholds in the mountains now termed the SMMNRA.

PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN LOS ANGELES

How about schools in Los Angeles? Our schools are becoming more and more a target for gun-wielding and drug dealing, making an education a risky business in Los Angeles.

SUMMARY REGARDING CITY OF LOS ANGELES PUBLIC SERVICES FUNDING

These four areas: utilities, roads, law enforcement, and education, are lacking revenues for maintenance. I feel these are the domain of government in our country … Where these are lacking, government is lacking. Here in Los Angeles, government is doing a slow tumble. It is unable to perform its basic functions.

I feel, though, that this is not the fault of government. Were revenues available here in Los Angeles, I feel certain government would be eager to do its job. But those revenues are unavailable. Why is this?

CALIFORNIA HOUSING: A TIME OF TRANSFORMATION

We here in Los Angeles are in a time of great import … a time of transformation to the New. This is not just the case here in Los Angeles. All of California, all American, and indeed, all the countries of Earth are in a time of transformation.

Transformation can feel like Apocalypse, or it can feel like a New Beginning. (3) We, the people of Los Angeles, will determine the outcome. Will we pull together and come up with innovative solutions to the housing crisis? Or will we go with the status quo … the slow tumble … the seemingly inevitable downward spiral?

I say, let us look, with a sense of adventure, a sense of the dawn of a new era for humankind, to innovative solutions. For instance …

Might Primitive Housing Techniques Be Useful?

How do people get by in Rio de Janeiro, where about a fourth of the population live below the poverty line, and the average per capita income is about $17,700 a year? Many live in very substandard housing, termed favelas ..

How about in Tijuana, the country of origin of many of our current unhomed population? From what sort of environment are they fleeing, in order to seek a better life for themselves and their families?

Tijuana also has its slum housing, where people use building materials salvaged from landfills to build squatter homes on land with no utility service. Water trucks come round with bottles of water to sell for household use. Sanitation depends on a family’s ingenuity; pit toilets are the norm …

On Revising the Los Angeles County Housing Code

I feel we here in Los Angeles can do better than this for our people. But we must face facts.

The density of population in Los Angeles is too great for sustainable living. The population of Earth must be spread out more evenly, and ways must be found to live off the land, and become self-sustaining, and to house ourselves, in and of ourselves, humbly but efficiently, using local materials. For those that have the skills and strength of character to move out of the cities, and live a sustainable life: Why not consider taking this step?

On Building Additional High Density Housing in Los Angeles

For those that choose to remain here in Los Angeles, we must come to terms with the fact that the housing code in Los Angeles makes it impossible to attract jobs to the area. Where jobs are insufficient, the standard of living will decline. The Catch 22 is this: Where the standard of living has declined, jobs will not be attracted.

So then, what is the solution? There is a clue near the end of this article …

Link: “California’s High Housing Costs: Causes and Consequences,” from the Legislative Analyst’s Office … http://www.lao.ca.gov/reports/2015/finance/housing-costs/housing-costs.aspx ..

The article suggests building more high density housing in California’s beach towns. I agree that this would help solve the problem. But in order to effect this solution, we must change the housing codes.

The Los Angeles Plan for Housing the Homeless Now Underway

Los Angeles has a plan for housing the homeless …

Link: “A plan to house L.A.’s homeless residents could transform parking lots across the city,” by Doug Smith, 9 February 2018 … http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-parking-lots-housing-20180209-story.html ..

This plan is a laudable step in the right direction. Yet it is running into snags because of local fractiousness. People do not want the homeless as their neighbors.

The $2 Billion Bond to Help House California’s Homeless Held Up by Lawsuit

I see also that a $2 billion bond to help house California’s homeless, approved by California voters two years ago, is tied up in lawsuits regarding mental health care bills as yet unpaid …

Link: “2 billion to help house California’s homeless isn’t being spent — and no one knows when it will be,” by Liam Dillon, 1 March 2018 … http://www.latimes.com/politics/la-pol-ca-homeless-housing-bond-stalled-20180301-story.html ..

The HUD Plan to Provide $2 Billion Nationwide for the Homeless

On the other hand, Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has announced a plan to provide $2 billion for the homeless, so this may to some degree ameliorate the homeless situation in California …

Link: “Ben Carson Announces $2 Billion for Homeless Programs Despite Trump’s Proposed Cuts to Housing Programs,” by Grace Guarnieri, 11 January 2018 … http://www.newsweek.com/ben-carson-billion-homeless-trump-housing-778976 ..

The Plan to House the Homeless in Guest Houses in Los Angeles County

Los Angeles County is running a pilot program offering housing assistance for homeless housed in guest houses in property owners’ back yards …

Link: “L.A. County wants to help build guest houses in backyards — for homeless people,” by Gale Holland, 11 April 2018 … http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-homeless-tiny-house-20180411-story.html ..

If successful, this might help reduce the population density in the City of Los Angeles, and help relieve concomitant issues to do with the homeless population in the City.

Employment Opportunity for the Skilled Homeless: Building That Guest Home in Los Angeles County? I would like to suggest, as well, the building of ‘Tiny Homes’ to benefit from this program, if it turns out to be approved. Perhaps this would boost employment in Los Angeles Country? Perhaps the homeless who have handyman skills might help with building additional guest homes there? Could it be that the State of California might offer financial incentives for such projects?

An Additional Idea; High Density Housing in Los Angeles County, with Busing to Jobs

If local resistance proves impossible to overcome, let us consider building high density housing in rural areas, in Los Angeles County, and providing buses to the nearest employment opportunities.

Repurpose Unprofitable Motels and Hotels as Housing for Homeless? For instance, old motels or hotels, that are proving economically not feasible, might be low-entry-cost ways for the Los Angeles County to house the homeless.

Well, that is all for now.

In love, light and joy,
I Am of the Stars

Dear Ones,

HOMELESS STATISTICS IN THE SAN FERNANDO VALLEY

I read there were about 7,600 homeless in the San Fernando Valley, and 58,000 in LA County as of last year … I read this in:

Link: “Homelessness Increased In Woodland Hills, San Fernando Valley: The rising cost of housing, along with a housing shortage, was acknowledged by officials as a top cause of the homeless problem,” by Alexander Nguyen (Patch Staff) – updated  https://patch.com/california/woodlandhills/homelessness-increased-woodland-hills-san-fernando-valley ..

SCARCITY OF HOMELESS SHELTERS IN THE SAN FERNANDO VALLEY

Because of the influx of homeless into the nearby neighborhoods, I’ve been looking around for homeless shelters in the San Fernando Valley … It seems like shelters for men are scarce. It looks like housing will be built, but maybe is not available yet?

Law enforcement can ask a homeless person to move on, but where will they move to, if no housing resources are available?

ON THE NOTION OF ASSIGNING A PARKING LOT … SUCH AS THE VACANT COSTCO PARKING LOT ON ROSCOE … FOR A TEMPORARY TENT COMMUNITY

I had a thought about the Costco that closed at 21300 Roscoe Blvd in Canoga Park (across from the Salvation Army Store) … it has a big, fenced parking lot which might temporarily be used for tents, if porta-potties and security could be arranged … What do you all think about this possibility?

SMALL POD HOUSING DESIGNED BY VALLEY RESCUE MISSION

Also a possibility, in lieu of or in addition to tenting in a parking lot, might be small pod housing such as that designed by Valley Rescue Mission …

Link: “Local News: These small pods could bring a big solution for LA County’s homeless crisis,” by Susan Abram, sabram@scng.com , Daily News, published:

NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH AND FOOT TRAFFIC ON OUR PUBLIC STREETS

This is a very difficult topic. For myself, as a Neighborhood Watch captain, I want to help my neighbors keep my neighborhood safe, and at the same time not to trespass on other people’s freedom of movement. People walk up and down our public streets all day long, and that’s fine. It’s when they stop and stay around that residents get uneasy.

LOITERING LAWS IN LOS ANGELES

In response to that, there are loitering laws in LA, both in general and also at schools and places where children generally congregate, but I’ve read that they only apply if a person has criminal intent. Most likely a prior criminal record would figure in.

I’ve read there is also a law against walking onto private property and peeking into the door or window, and that law applies if the property is not abandoned. See:

Link: “PC 647: Loitering” … http://esfandilawfirm.com/crimes/loitering-pc-647/ ..

CAN WE PROVIDE SAFE PLACES FOR THE HOMELESS TO STORE THEIR PROPERTY?

I’ve also read that the City of LA passed law 56.11 last year to the effect that a (presumably homeless) person’s storage of items on sidewalks and parkways and in alleys must be no more than what can fit into the garbage bin … see:

Link: “L.A. council OKs law limiting homeless people’s belongings to what can fit in a trash bin,” by Gale Holland, Contact Reporter, 30 March 2016, 3:42 pm … http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-homeless-belongings-20160331-story.html ..

I also read that the City has no right to put these belongings into the trash:

Link: “Judge Says Los Angeles Has to Stop Taking Homeless People’s Stuff: A new injunction limits the city’s ability to seize and destroy the property of Skid Row residents,” by Elijah Chiland, 14 April 2016, 9:55 am PDT … https://la.curbed.com/2016/4/14/11428886/los-angeles-homeless-property-seizure ..

The same article suggests the need … I would say citywide … for storage facilities for possessions of transient people.

ON WORKING WITHIN THE LAW FOR A SOLUTION TO THE DIFFICULT PROBLEM OF HOMELESSNESS

I guess what I’m trying to say is, as responsible citizens, and taking this difficult problem into consideration, let us work within the spirit of the legal system. As forward-looking people let us look to fresh solutions to the problem of homelessness in Los Angeles.

  • What is really going on, economically, here?
  • How can we tweak the economy to provide jobs for those who want them, but can’t find them?
  • As a concerned community with humane intent, what may we also do for those who don’t want work, or who, for a constellation of reasons, are unemployable?

In the end, I am hoping that these last prove to be few, and that good work and good housing will be found for most.

MY THANKS TO CALIFORNIA FOR ITS POSITIVE REGARD FOR THE UNDERPRIVILEGED

I would like to add that I have traveled here and there in America in recent years, and have found, in general, that California’s attitude toward the underprivileged is a standout in many ways; especially, as regards …

  • positive social action,
  • lack of prejudice, and a positive attitude toward diversity, and
  • desire to abide within the spirit of the law.

For that depth of human kindness, and for our mutual vision of a new tomorrow in this beautiful land, I thank each of you, from the bottom of my heart.

In love, light and joy,
I Am of the Stars

Work Camping and Annual Camping Opportunities in America . by Alice B. Clagett

Written on 25 January 2015 and published on 4 November 2016

  • WORK CAMPING
  • NATIONAL PARKS AND FEDERAL RECREATION LANDS CAMPING
  • COLORADO, NEW MEXICO, AND NEVADA STATE PARKS CAMPING
  • FREE CAMPGROUNDS ACROSS AMERICA

Dear Ones,

WORK CAMPING

I just read an article in “AARP the Magazine,” Dec/Jan 2015, called “Mixing Work and Pleasure on the Long, Winding Road.” This is about ‘work camping’, which I thought might be of interest to some of us as we go through the Ascension process. Reason being, a competitive career lifestyle is not always compatible for all of us as the process unfolds. Work camping offers a chance to ratchet down on housing cost … by living in a trailer … and at the same time work for minimum wage at a low key job, and garner enough money to pay for food and gas. With some employers, part time work is available.

I could not find the AARP article online; It looks like you have to become a member to get it. However, in the article they mention Amazon.com has a CamperForce program, providing free campsites and about $10 an hour, plus overtime, for seasonal work in its warehouses all across the US …

Link: “Amazon Camperforce” … http://www.amazondelivers.jobs/about/camperforce/ ..

Some campers do seasonal work for KOA; you have to be willing to clean bathrooms and empty trash.

Link: “Live the Life You Love: Become a KOA Work Kamper” … https://workatkoa.com/ ..

When I was camping at Mesa Verde last summer, I found out that Aramark offers seasonal jobs at National Parks and elsewhere. This sometimes includes a campsite, minimum wage, and part time or full time work in a laundry or gift shop or snack shop, etc …

Link: “Hourly Job Opportunities,” by Aramark … https://hourly-aramark.icims.com/jobs/intro ..

NATIONAL PARKS AND FEDERAL RECREATION LANDS CAMPING

For those that do not need to work, passes are available to National Parks and Federal Recreation Lands …

Link: “America the Beautiful Passes,” by National Park Service … https://www.nps.gov/planyourvisit/passes.htm ..

However, and this is pretty important, passes do not include camping costs, which can be hefty at National Parks.

Typical camping costs for National Forests, which tend to offer less developed campsites, vary from free to $12 a night …

Link: “Seasons, Rates (Fees) and Forest Information” in “U.S. National Forest Campground Guide” … https://www.forestcamping.com/dow/intro/introduc.htm#fees ..

COLORADO, NEW MEXICO, AND NEVADA STATE PARKS CAMPING

State Parks sometimes offer great opportunities for campers. I noticed on both the Colorado and the New Mexico banks of beautiful Navajo Lake State Park, sites with amenities and an incredible view are offered.

On the New Mexico side, annual camping permits are $180 a year for New Mexico residents, $100 a year for New Mexico resident seniors and disabled, $225 a year for out of state residents. More information here …

LInk: “Navajo Lake State Parks” by New Mexico State Parks …  http://www.emnrd.state.nm.us/SPD/navajolakestatepark.html ..

On the Colorado side of the lake, camping is apparently just $70 a year for one vehicle. For more on the amenities there, see …

Link: “Navajo State Park,” by Colorado State Parks and Wildlife … https://cpw.state.co.us/placestogo/parks/Navajo ..

Looks like that fee will get you the right to camp in other Colorado State Parks as well …

Link: “Annual Pass Information,” by Colorado Parks and Wildlife … https://cpw.state.co.us/buyapply/Pages/AnnualPassInfo.aspx ..

I gather from this chart that Nevada State Parks offer seasonal low entrance fees with free camping. Annual permits for camping in all Nevada State Parks are $200 a year ..

LInk: “Annual Permits,” by Nevada State Parks … http://parks.nv.gov/fees/annual-permits ..

And maybe other state parks have good camping opportunities too.

Dear Ones,

Here is a curse and one possible answering symbol to undo the curse. This curse has to do with death, or the killing of a person or persons being the foundation of a building, a dwelling, or a group.

In the long run, the answer to this kind of deep subconscious archetype or symbol is affordable housing for everyone, I feel.

There is an edited Summary after the video; after that is another section not in the video …

VIDEO BY ALICE

SUMMARY OF THE VIDEO

Hello, Dear Ones, It’s Alice. I Am of the Stars.

The night before last I saw in a vision a curse that was laid upon a number of people that was like an archetypal image or subconscious symbol with great power … but it was a black magic curse.

I will draw you a picture of it, and attempt to explain a little about it, in hopes that it will get to those people so that they can dissolve and disempower this curse. It goes like this …

The Dwelling Curse

shack

Drawing: “The Dwelling Curse,” by Alice B. Clagett, 3 November 2016, CC BY-SA 4.0, from “Awakening with Planet Earth,” https://awakeningwithplanetearth.com … DESCRIPTION: Two yellow bars leaning toward each other, so that they look a little like a roof, with a black bar laid horizontally beneath them.

Drawing: “The Dwelling Curse,” by Alice B. Clagett, 3 November 2016, CC BY-SA 4.0, from “Awakening with Planet Earth,” https://awakeningwithplanetearth.com

DESCRIPTION: Two yellow bars leaning toward each other, so that they look a little like a roof, with a black bar laid horizontally beneath them.

It is a three-part picture. Down at the bottom there is a very black bar. And on the sides there are two yellow … it looks kind of like half-palm-leaves, only yellow … solid things, like wood.

The curse is like this: The black bar represents death or a dead person. And the yellow things represent a place to live, like a house or a place to live. When this curse was placed, it stated or imprinted, in the subconscious minds of the people, that if they killed … if a person were lying dead or buried … then they would have a house to live in.

So the idea is, as in the thuggee cults, that the death of someone will give them sustenance or means to survive. Further, the symbol of this curse shows that the dead person is the ‘floor’ … or the foundation … of this safety; of the building that the people have.

So buried in the ground of the place you would find the corpses of the people that have been killed to preserve this edifice. By ‘edifice’ is meant the group … the continuation of the group … and including the building and the grounds and so forth.

One ‘Answering Symbol’

I have a thought about what to do to dissolve this curse. I think the thing to do is to offer a counter-symbol. It could be like this …

sun-shack

Drawing: “The Dwelling Curse: One Answering ‘Symbol’,” by Alice B. Clagett, 3 November 2016, CC BY-SA 4.0, from “Awakening with Planet Earth,” https://awakeningwithplanetearth.com … DESCRIPTION: Two yellow bars leaning toward each other, so that they look a little like a roof, with a yellow bar laid horizontally beneath them, and sunlight streaming down upon them.

Drawing: “The Dwelling Curse: One Answering ‘Symbol’,” by Alice B. Clagett, 3 November 2016, CC BY-SA 4.0, from “Awakening with Planet Earth,” https://awakeningwithplanetearth.com

DESCRIPTION: Two yellow bars leaning toward each other, so that they look a little like a roof, with a yellow bar laid horizontally beneath them, and sunlight streaming down upon them.

In this image there are still the bar at the bottom, and the two symbols that represent a house or building. And in addition to that there is the sun here … [top left] … a yellow Sun, and the rays of the Sun, coming down, onto the building here (which is bright yellow now from the rays of the Sun). Down here beneath it, the floor of the building is no longer black; instead it is that same bright yellow color.

So what we have is the Sun, and the abundance of the Sun, shining down on the building, nad changing all of that karma and that bad spell about having to kill … or that death is the foundation of the building … and the foundation of the group … into the notion that the Sun’s abundance is changing everything into a beautiful yellow Light color. In other words, the karma is dissolving. So this is the answer; this is one ‘answering’ symbol.

[End of video]

18 December 2019 Astral Explanation: Catastrophic Childhood Experience – Witchy Woman

I later learned, on the psychic plane, that the 3D source of this curse may have been a cover-up regarding a love affair between a purportedly celibate, holy man and a young boy, a child less than 10 years of age. As the holy man … according to the astral airs … had contracted HIV from the male prostitutes he had been employing, he passed on the virus to the boy, who died of AIDS not long thereafter.

The holy man, as the story goes, felt still an obsession to hold onto the child after his death, as it was his first love affair, and he cherished the unconditional love the child had shown towards him. So the child was buried illegally at the place where the man served as a holy man for his spiritual community, near the place where the people worshipped.

Years passed, and the child’s astral form remained chained to the mind and emotions of the holy man. During all those years, the curse was in effect. That curse is the topic of this blog, which … I see now … speaks to the issue in a deeply symbolic way.

By God’s grace, after the retirement of the holy man, the grave of the child was discovered, and the remains removed elsewhere. When that happened, the black magic spell was lifted from the place where the curse had been cast.

It is my hope that the remains of the child will one day be place in a consecrated graveyard that is far from the place where the holy man now lives, so that the spirit of the child may be set free to pursue the natural course of Soul evolution after dissolution of the physical form.

So may we all let go those who have passed on before us, in charity of heart and healing of what is lost, in knowledge of the fulfillment of our own destiny through Christ our Lord.

In love, light and joy,
I Am of the Stars

Dear Ones,

I have run across several very good lists of clair abilities, including the new abilities of the Awakening. Here is one such list …

NEW AND OLD CLAIR ABILITIES

Link: “‘Meet the Clairs’ – 10 Kinds of Intuition – August 2016,” by Emily Matweow … http://www.okinhealth.com/articles/10-clairsenses-intuition-emily-matweow ..

Link: “Talking About Ascension: Energy, Symptoms, Abilities,” by Ellen M. Gregg … https://ellenmgregg.com/missives-and-messages/talking-about-ascension-energy-symptoms-abilities … Search for the subheading: Ascension Abilities

To the above-referenced list, I would like to add these new clair abilities …

FURTHER ENHANCEMENTS TO OUR CLAIR ABILITIES

These include …

  • Clair sensitivity to the EMF of oneself, of other people, of objects, and of the Solar System and Galaxies
  • Clair hearing on three personal, mental levels: Lower Mental Body, Higher Mental Body, and Supermind (as Sri Aurobindo termed it).
  • Clair hearing on a chakra-by-chakra level, including on the level of each of the Transpersonal Chakras.

CLAIR ABILITIES APPROXIMATED BY ELECTRONIC DEVICES AND NANOTECHNOLOGY

Electronic devices and nanotechnology approximate, in a somewhat clumsy physical way, the clair abilities that are presently becoming universal among humankind. As each of us awakens to these abilities, there is a certain amount of fear expressed by the cells … fear of change. The cells are very conservative little beings, and their upsets routinely present themselves to our awakening Awareness as astral stories with fearful emotional content.

As the new clair skills are a little like electronic devices, they can be mistakenly taken as something negative … unwanted intrusions on our privacy by other people, for instance. And so, it is important to know that our new clair talents, and those of others, are part of God’s plan for the evolution of humankind into the New Human on New Earth. It is important to have faith in ourselves, in God, and in all the new things that are unfolding on Earth in this precious and momentous time.

Here are some thoughts I have about congruences between the new clair abilities and the ‘near-ESP’ conferred by electronic devices and nanotechnology …

Cell Phones. Clair hearing and clair speaking are like cell phones. One must be careful, however, to converse with the Higher Mental Body of another person (this is telepathy with another person’s cerebral cortex, not the gut brain). Say: I’d like to speak with the True Self!

Smart Phones and Internet. Our ability to connect with the Star Libraries now is like using smart phones or computers to connect to the electronic Internet. Further, if we want to connect to the electronic Internet on Earth, and an Internet connection is not handy, we can clair ask someone who is online to check for us, and get the answer through Clair Speak.

Chat Rooms. As everyone on Earth is becoming clair, we are all now able to chat on the clair ‘Internet’ without needing to log into an online chat room.

Television. The new ability of co-creating reality through astral stories is like television. Anyone can be the producer. If there are enough active viewers, an astral story now manifests as semi-physical reality, through manipulation of the Plane of Forces.

Spy Cameras. One of the first of the new clair abilities often tried is that of stepping into someone else’s living room and observing what’s up … we now have ‘X-ray vision’, as did Superman. In future, this ability will also become useful for enhanced emergency medical services, I feel. As well, humankind will learn the art of restraining itself from idle curiosity (ahem!).

Spy Microphones. Most human beings can now eavesdrop on other folks’ conversations, just like that! Many are finding this an almighty inconvenience, but it is beginning to keep everything on the ‘up and up’. As time goes on, trust in the good will of the human community will build. That ‘con operation’ way of being will be eliminated, by common consensus. And further, as with the ‘Spy Camera’ category above,  humankind will learn the art of restraining itself from idle curiosity.

Medical Bots or Nanobots. Clair attunement with others’ subtle bodies, preparatory to clair healing. This is a little like using medical bots to monitor and heal physical disease, but the monitoring bots are our Awareness, and the healing quality is Love.

Drones. As a corollary to the ability of teleportation: Clair telescoping … the ability to clairvoyantly telescope in on a distant location, while still remaining in body … like having a toy drone with a camera in it, that you can see moving over the Earth to the thought-of destination.

CLAIR HEALING

  • DNA. Ability to unfold or fold up the DNA from 2-strand to 12-strand
  • Karmic Miasmic Distortions. Clair healing of karmic miasmic distortions through languages of Light and sound
  • EMF. Clair healing of the self or of others through clarification of the EMF field. Others may be physically close or healing may be ‘remote’
  • Vortex Work. Clair healing of people, land masses, and oceans through vortical release from the lower dimensions to the higher dimensions … that is to say, healing through vortical motion (see the book “The Emerald Tablets of Thoth”)
  • Co-Creation and Fractal Dissemination. Clair healing through co-creation on the astral plane, and fractal dispersal to other people’s energy fields, through their own free will choice to pattern after this new fractal

CLAIR TEMPOROSPATIAL ABILITIES … ‘PLAYING WITH’ THE CURRENTLY MANIFESTING SPACE-TIME CONTINUUM

  • Timelines. Clair timeline optimization, merges, jumping, and looping (either to the future or to the past in a particular timeline)
    • Clair rollback, brief: the ability to rollback a timeline to re-hear other people’s clair speak that has just slipped by unnoticed. Say: Rollback! and feel the astral story roll back to a minute prior, then replay itself
  • Dimensions. Clair dimensional optimization, merges, downloads (from the higher dimensions), and uploads (to the higher dimensions, so as to clear lower dimensions)

PATANJALI’S LIST OF CLAIR ABILITIES IN THE CONTEXT OF THE AWAKENING

In the way of old clair abilities that are surfacing among normal people now, we have those listed in the “Aphorisms of Patanjali.” These were previously thought of as ‘superpowers’ available only to Spiritual Adepts. See …

  • Link: “Patanjali’s Yoga Aphorisms: Chapter III – Powers,” by Swami Vivekananda … http://hermetic.com/vivekananda/raja-yoga/powers.html ..
  • and for a different commentary on these superpowers, see Swami Prabhavananda and Christopher Isherwood’s edition of this book … Citation: “How to Know God: The Yoga Aphorisms of Patanjali,” translated with a commentary by Swami Prabhavananda and Christopher Isherwood, copyright 1953, 1981 by The Vedanta Society of Southern California ..

From this list, I would like to emphasize these powers; note that I have added editorial comments in the context of the Awakening …

Knowledge of past lives (# 18 on Patanjali’s list) … technically, in the context of the Awakening, this is knowledge of lives concurrently playing out in the Eternal Now. This is the video library of the Multidimensional, Multitemporal Self (or ‘Atman’)

Observation of another person’s body, and inference into his mind (#19) … The samskaras, or Soul wounding now being cleared by the Incoming Light, can be observed in a person’s physical or gross form, and in his astral form and etheric net, which are two of his subtle bodies. These reflect distortions in the Body of Light, which are easily resolved through the new clair abilities to heal through Light and sound.

Power to become invisible (# 21) … The power suggested by Patanjali have to do with interference with another person’s physical vision. The new clair ability has to do with clarification of the body of Light, and concentration on this energy field, which is so rare and refined that it passes through physical matter.

Power to becoming unhearable (#22) … The power suggested by Patanjali, like the preceding power, has to do with obstructing the sense organ perception of others. The new clair ability has to do with focusing one’s hearing on the Music of the Spheres. I believe Tom Kenyon expresses this in his Aethos sound meditation … see www.tomkenyon.com ..

On gaining knowledge about the cosmic spaces, the arrangement of stars, and the motions of the stars (#27, 28 and 29) … It seems to me that studying these would be useful in regaining knowledge of our internal star maps, gaining access to the star libraries, and aligning with the manifestation of God’s love, truth and will through our Star brethren alliances

On meditation-union with the heart, which gives one power over the mind‘s contents (#35) … To clarify, one attains power over one’s own mind through meditation-union with one’s own heart. This is because the heart is the center of our personal electromagnetic-field, and the three minds (Lower Mental Body, Higher Mental Body, and Superconscious Mind) are merely substations of our EMF. The heart is the Central Command post of the EMF, as it were.

Supernatural powers of the senses, such as sight, touch, hearing, scent and taste. (#37). Per # 38, these are obstacles to Awakening. Why is this? Because when we have supernatural sensory abilities, we have twice the trouble stilling the mind. Further, it is a simple thing to impress other people with our supernatural sensory abilities, and it is easy to fall into the net of caring what other people think of us, so attaining these powers can tighten our karmic knots and increase our EMF distortions. This causes a darkening, or mottling, of our Body of Light. We must daily and hourly undertake the chore of clearing this subtle body, under any circumstances, but especially so when our senses extend to the supernatural realms.

About walking on water (#40) and levitating (#43): I offer the same caveats as for “Supernatural powers of the senses,” above. Further, the demon realm offers these powers … without our having to do any yogic ‘push-ups’ … by fiddling with the Plane of Forces; in exchange, it will enslave our minds through a demonic contract, and this contract will remove from us the ability to light up our hearts, so that we can master our three minds. If you want to walk on water or levitate, do not ask the demon realm to ‘make it so’. Instead, align with God’s will and heart and mind, and allow the Awakening of your Ascension skills to proceed in a natural, unforced manner.

Mastery of the elements (fire, air, water, earth, ether) (#46) has its drawbacks unless one is first aligned with God. For instance, making rain stop or start in a given location, merely for the sake of one’s convenience, can cause personal karmic entanglement, and tarnish the body of Light (see above).

Becoming unobstructed by the elements: Swami Prabhavananda and Christopher Isherwood have a great writeup on this …. q.v. (‘quod vide’, ‘which see’). It sounds like fun, and also useful in an Awakening context, and for healing others.

Perfection of the body. There is a great spiritual tradition, as with the Buddhist monks, regarding perfection of the physical body concomitant with realization and Awakening of Spirit. I like this one, as long as it is undertaken in the context of providing a suitable home or house for Spirit. As they say in the Christian tradition, the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit … thus, it certainly makes sense to keep it healthy, graceful, strong, and beautiful or handsome. In Ancient India, the science of yoga was an important means to this end, and remains so today. Of course, there are also the opportunities of Western physical education and ‘cross-training’, which allows improvement of the various muscle groups. Stretching the muscles, and overall balance in development of the body, are equally important to strength training of various muscle sets. Massage of the viscera, with attention to acupressure points, stills the unconscious mind and perfects the function of the involuntary nervous system. (1)

Meditation-union with a single moment, and single-moment sequences (#53): Intuitively, I feel this will help perfect knowledge of the Eternal Now and of our timeline skills.

ON CHANGES IN SOCIETAL NEEDS DUE TO ASCENSION ABILITIES

Transportation. New powers of teleportation will obviate automobiles, trains, helicopters, and airplanes.

Housing, Food. and Utilities. As more people gain the ability to regulate their body temperature, obtain sustenance through Light, and co-create physical things such as houses, notions of property ownership and ‘paying one’s dues’ through wage slavery will obsolesce.

Life Expectancy and Medical Care. Life expectancy will be much greater, and we will be able to heal our bodies through the languages of light and sound, which are free to all.

Procreation. The Lower Mental Body, through which procreational desire and the urges of self-preservation and control of others are expressed, will be unified with the Higher Mental Body and the Supermind, creating in each of us what is known as Cosmic Mind or Universal Mind. The high procreation rate on Earth today has to do with the relegation of the Lower Mental Body to an unconscious state … what is termed the ‘involuntary’ nervous system in the medical texts. As we Awaken, there will no longer be an involuntary nervous system. As with the accomplished yogis of India, each human being on Earth will be able to consciously control the urge to have sex.

Crime. It follows from the above that the functions of the autonomic nervous system (the ANS) … which have to do with the ‘viscera’ … the heart, stomach and intestines … will be under conscious control. When we are able to regulate our heartbeat, then impulsive behaviors, and criminal tendencies as well, are easily curbed.

Ecosystem, Health of Oceans, Climate, Weather, and Tectonic Plate Activity. These will be easily transformed, moment to moment, through humankind’s coherent co-creative ability. This is within reach now, and can be achieved through simultaneous visualizations by such institutions as the Global Coherence Initiative … https://www.heartmath.org/gci/ ..

ABOUT CLAIR ABILITIES, DISCLOSURE, AND TRANSFORMATION OF FINANCE, ECONOMICS, AND WORLD GOVERNMENT

The above two abilities, ‘Spy Camera’ and ‘Spy Microphones’, are quite clearly going to have a major impact on world government, economics, and finance, as there will be disclosure after disclosure (for more on disclosure, search the internet for this term). The result will be transparency and coherence in every human arena.

THE ALL: INGROUPS, OUTGROUPS, AND THE ‘COMMON’ GOOD

As more and more people ‘Log on’, the notion of in-groups will expand outward till it encompasses all humankind, and from there onward to every sentient being everywhere in the Universe. Consequently, there will no longer be ‘outgroups’. All beings everywhere will be our ‘ingroup’. And so, decision-making regarding the common good will include what might be termed the ‘uncommon good’.

In other words, those whose welfare we might never before have considered, in our decision-making process, will now be included. In this way the barriers of nationality, culture, race, religion, politics, gender, sexual preference, and so on, will be eliminated.

In love, light and joy,
I Am of the Stars

Dear Ones,

A video about the homeless encampments of the Great Depression, the situation in America today, and the solutions implemented by President Theodore Roosevelt long ago. What answers to this problem might be usefully considered today? Also, American work furlough programs as the wave of the future for prisoners convicted of less notably violent crimes.

There is an edited Summary after the video. Then there are additional sections that supplement the topic of the video.

VIDEO BY ALICE

SUMMARY OF THE VIDEO

Hello, Dear Ones, It’s Alice. I Am of the Stars.

I thought I would tell you a story that my mom told me, in relation to a newspaper story that I saw the other day. The two are related, but they are miles apart in terms of years and generations …

My Mother’s Story About Employment of the Homeless for Public Works in the Great Depression

When I was very young, my mother told me the story of the Great Depression. That was the time she lived through before I was born. In the time of the Great Depression, there was no work to be had. There were a number of reasons why many men could not find work at all. And so, she said, they left their homes and their families, in hopes of finding work elsewhere. And they roamed around and lived under bridge abutments, off the sides of roads, in crude encampments of tent dwellings … and looked for work from there, in hopes that they could get money to support their families.

These tent villages were huge sometimes; and there was some lawlessness there …  sometimes fighting and brawling and alcohol drinking, and maybe even occasionally murders … and of course there was a problem with sanitation, and how they might find enough food to eat; and whether their tents would hold up in a rainstorm, whether they could be warm in the snow, and so forth.

These were desperate men. And the people in the towns, who lived near these homeless encampments, would come to the tent villages, and there would be huge fights and killings and drivings off of people, and so forth.

Then finally it came to the attention of the government, and they tried to think of a solution to this problem. One of the things they came up with, was the idea of hiring these people to do public works projects all over the United States … and often in areas that were rural.

So they would hire them. And in that way these people would have just enough money to support their families. And the Works Progress Administration would hire them; and in that way these people would have just enough money to support their families. And they would transport them to very rural locations.

One of the ideas I have is that then they could get into no trouble; there would be no alcohol; they could get their food supplied for them; and they would be with other people who were in equal economic straits, in a place where there was really nothing to be done but very hard work … with good results too, because among these public works projects of the 1930s, many still remain today. Bridges were built all over the United States. They worked on all kinds of public projects, including roads. And they did great work, very enduring work that is still there. They built the transportation system of America.

Link: “The Living New Deal” … https://livingnewdeal.org/ ..

During a time when there was no hope, the government helped to supply them with a living for themselves and their families.

A Recent News Story about a Homeless Encampment

That is mom’s story. And so now to get to the story that I saw in the newspaper that I saw in the newspaper the other day: I saw a story about a homeless encampment in San Francisco. There wree problems that were reminiscent of the homeless encampments in the 1930s, problems with lawlessness, sanitation, the use of drugs, and so on.

Consequently the government ordered that everyone leave that area. Some people complied, and some people would not comply. At the time that I read this newspaper article, there were people who were determined to stay and express their right to be where they were.

I feel it is time for the government to consider what can be done to employ these people. For instance, there was a nurse there who had lost her work. What can be done to turn around this situation? How can these people be housed? How can they receive medical care? How can they get hope back into their lives?

It is important. This time is now. We do not want homelessness and lawlessness in our cities. But the answer is not violence. The answer is not government edicts to move on. The answer is some constructive thing that can help them to achieve whatever goals they may have that are positively oriented towards society.

I hope this will be considered in the near future, for America. We thought of it long ago. This is just like a redux; it is a return to something to help them maintain their ideal of the American dream, just as we who are homed hope to maintain that ideal.

On Restorative Justice and Work Ethic Education of Prisoners

There is one more thing that I found out during my recent road trip north through California. I was in Ukiah, the county seat of Mendocino County, where there was a work realignment program that allowed all but violent criminals to work at jobs like emptying trash receptacles and road work, and so forth, and then just be in prison at night.

Link: “Corrections: Alternative Programs,” at Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office …  http://www.mendocinosheriff.com/corrections/workrelease.html Home Detention, Work Release, Work Furlough

I believe this was for people who had been convicted of crimes that were not notably violent. This seems to be the wave of the future for criminal justice: Not so much to house people in hopeless circumstances, where they simply scheme to get back at society for what has been done to them, but instead to allow them a chance to work towards a change in their attitude … a chance to have jobs like other people have, and a chance to be treated more humanely, so that they can begin to learn the true rules of society. I say this because I feel it likely that people who operate from the perspective of the criminal mind have not been granted that kind of view of the way that society functions, that most people get. So this is a chance to do that.

You all take care. Love you lots. Bye bye.

[This is the end of the video. The following are supplemental sections …]

HOW SAN FRANCISCO IS DEALING WITH ITS 6,000 HOMELESS

I recently perused an article that mentioned there are now 6,000 homeless in San Francisco …

LInk: “San Francisco Wants Homeless to Leave Tent Camp, But Some Vow to Fight,” by Thomas Fuller, 26 February 2016 … http://www.nytimes.com/2016/02/27/us/san-francisco-wants-homeless-to-leave-tent-camp-but-some-vow-to-fight.html?_r=0 ..

San Francisco’s response to this problem was to evacuate a tent city on Division Street, citing health problems. Of course, the larger problem is: What to do about the homeless all across America.

THE SHANTYTOWNS OR ‘HOOVERVILLES’ OF THE GREAT DEPRESSION

This Wikipedia article describes the homeless encampments of the Great Depression …

LInk: “Hooverville” … https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hooverville ..

In the early 1930s, millions were homeless. Those living on the streets numbered in the hundreds of thousands.

In bitter derision of then-President Herbert Hoover, homeless shantytowns were termed ‘Hoovervilles’.  Homeless families were camped out in New York’s Central Park. There were eight Hoovervilles in Seattle. There was a very large Hooverville in St. Louis as well, with 4 districts and its own mayor.

“The Bonus Army” was a group of World War I veterans who established a Hooverville in the District of Columbia. At its peak, this shantytown numbered 15,000 veterans seeking their benefits. Apparently, there was much violence surrounding this encampment. Here is a very famous photo of veterans fighting with law enforcement …

THE NEW DEAL AND PUBLIC WORKS TO EMPLOY THE UNEMPLOYED

The New Deal was President Theodore Roosevelt’s answer to the Great Depression. See …

LInk: “New Deal,” in Wikipedia … https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Deal#Public_works ..

President Roosevelt’s Public Works program, mentioned in the video and in the Wikipedia article, put many homeless men to work building bridges, dams, courthouses, post offices, and roads. It might be good to have such a government program today to employ the homeless and help build a better America.
