Raven Says: Go Away Very Fast!

THE STORY

Hello, Dear Ones. It’s Alice. I Am of the Stars.

I came down this way towards Century Lake in Malibu Creek State Park. First I noticed how quiet the birds are. Then I went over towards the Century Lake Dam. There is a way to walk across, but you cannot get across …

Mr. Raven comments: Caw!

Alice continues: … because of the chains on the gate at the left-hand side of the dam. I just got to the gate, and I hear a Raven. It was over there to the right-hand side of the Dam. Now it has gone over towards the mountain on the far side of Century Lake.

The Raven said: What is your name?

Alice said: Dharm Darshan Kaur.

The Raven said: Dharm Darshan Kaur, go away fast! Mountain Lion on top of that hill!

Alice to Readers: I had not been talking because nobody else was. I just went away real fast. And the place is this place right here [zooms to dam wall]. Over to the left of the dam there is a mountain or high hill. That Raven says the Mountain Lion is on top of that hill.

I am letting you know, just in case you happen to be in  Malibu Creek State Park. This is that great lake that is there: Century Lake in Malibu Creek State Park. The wading pools are on the other side of the dam.

There was a Mountain Lion incident near this place in Malibu Creek State Park in September of this year …

That must be some Mountain Lion, because that is a very steep descent.

To be truthful, I heard the Mountain Lion just before the Raven. It was a younger Mountain Lion. It said to itself: Wait till she starts to turn around; then go down.

So I was thinking: Maybe I should not turn around. Then the Raven said: Leave very fast. So I did. And I advise you, Dear Reader: If the Raven says to go away very fast, it is aa very good idea to do it.

ON THE HIGH ROAD ABOVE CENTURY LAKE

I am walking the High Road above Century Lake, and I once more hear the big Mother Mountain Lion over there on the big mountain on the other side of Century Lake. I will show you where it is ranging [shows the mountain].

This is one of the places where I hear its voice. And it ranges in the bigger mountains to the left.

It must be very strong to be able to climb those mountains all the time.

Here I am on the trail up above Century Lake, looking down at the place where I was just a minute ago.

The mountain to my left, which is right next to Century Lake, is where Mr. Raven said the Young Mountain Lion was waiting for prey.

You see there is a watering hole down there below me. It seems to me that predators are always looking for places like this. The Deer come down from the higher lands at night. They need to get water in the evening.

The Mountain Lions are probably waiting on these crags here … just watching for the Deer to come down. Then at night the Deer come to those pouncing points, like that place where I was just then.

Maybe the Mountain Lions think of that pouncing place as ‘home turf’, you know? … their hunting range. They are probably very eager to keep it clear of all the other beings that might interfere with their poaching rights … which they might say are their legitimate hunting rights. What do you think?

I figure, every time I approach water here in California I have to be very careful, because there is something staking out that water 24/7. That is what I do.

Yes, it is better to watch out at watering holes. Of course, you can see a lot of game down there too. There are people that go perch in a tree at night, with infrared scopes … with, for example, the Yukon Digital Night Vision Monocular which has infrared capability … and try to catch images of nocturnal animals.

There are many nocturnal animals that nobody ever sees in California unless they go out at night. There are Ringtails, Spotted Skunks, American Badgers, Bats, Owls, and Raccoons, for example. Then there are Dusk Predators such as Mountain Lions and Coyotes.

[Shows Decatur sign.] What could this be? This is the famous Decatur sign that was moved from the MASH TV series outdoor set at Malibu Creek State Park to the Visitor Center here.

I just thought I would mention: At the time when the Ravens warn you … with that warning tone that they use … to take a certain action, you really have no extra time to stand and ponder what to do. They warn you just in the nick of time.

You have to turn on a dime and do what they say, if you want to get away. Those of you who are Woodsmen will know what I am talking about, I bet.

Sidebar: California Sycamore Tree

California Sycamore Tree … really gigantic. Look at this! [shows log that is hollow in the center]. I guess the part inside must be softer. I guess something eats it … that it provides food for a lot of animals.

[Shows another log that is not hollow] See this one, nothing ate its core. But this one [another hollow log] is all eaten out inside. That one too.

[Pans to partly rotten bole on living California Sycamore Tree] Now see bole? The wood inside is starting to decay. But on the outside it is still alive, and there are leaves on the tree branch too. How can the California Sycamore decay in its core and still be healthy, I wonder?

CONCLUSION

In love, light and joy

The name of this website is “Awakening with Planet Earth.” And there is nothing quite as Awakening as being on a mountain trail with the thought that there is a hungry Mountain Lion nearby. Don’t you agree?
