“I Pray: A Poem for Christmas Day”

I pray for the Souls
of the newborn sons
whose lives are snuffed out
by fathers
of all churches
on this beautiful planet
our Earth.

May these children’s Souls
not flinch
nor mourn
nor feel but joy

For Christ was born
on Christmas Day
to a father
of a church
that for one moment
on that hallowed day

Set aside the norm.

Christ was born
to a father
who cherished
and nourished
in his Son’s Soul
a Consciousness
none had ever known.

I pray that Christ’s brothers –
those castaway Souls –
may find such a father
in ages to come.

I pray
for the dawn
of that wonderful day
on this beautiful planet
our Earth.
