Dear Ones,

Here is a poem about the workaday world …

“HOW TO HANDLE A 9 TO 5”
A Prose Poem by Alice B. Clagett
2015

For a bus driver, the journey
is where it’s at.
For the rest of us, the journey
is an inconvenient hiccup
on the way to work.

It depends on the driver, too,
how they hold the trip.
Some will barrel pell-mell
past a frantically waving would-be rider.
Others call out the names of the streets
like they’re playing a part
in the biggest movie of all time.
