Oh, there he goes! [shows other crawdads in water] … Look at! Can you see them? Stick around … [shows another crawdad] … They do not like sounds. Look at that! [crawdads are edging backwards off rocks into water] … Oh, they are all going down. [One is left on a rock.] Hello, dude! Hello, hello, how are you? Yeah, they do not like me much.
[Shows hummingbird moth hovering over the water and gently touching it with its lower abdomen.] What is that, a hummingbird moth? Is it drinking the water? …

[Searches around, finds three crawdads; one is larger.] Oh, look at that one! He is hiding in the water. [Shows another crawdad nearby.] There is one. And look, they are thinking of fighting, I think …

There are four there; one is hiding … No, no fight. [pans around] …
Look at that [shows more crawdads]; there is one hiding, one not hiding. This place is incredible; it is Crawdad Condo City. Well…
What happened is that this is an irrigation conduit here. [Zooms back, to show the mostly dry irrigation conduit.] See?

Sometimes it has water in it, and sometimes [like now] it does not. But on the deep spots, there are these pools, and when the conduit dries up, all the crawdads hang out together in the pools.
