SUMMARY OF THE VIDEO
Dudes! A woodrat village! They have this searing warning sound. At first I thought it was a bicycle bell. Then I thought it was a wounded bird or squirrel. And finally I realized it is a woodrat warning signal.
I will try to imitate the woodrat warning whistle. It went a little like this … [Makes two loud whistling sounds.]
These are a couple of woodrat nests. You see, there is one [shows one] and there is another one right there [shows another], right down near the water too [by a small stream bed].
[Pans left.] Here is the other one … see, right there … can you see it? Sticks everywhere. See? There is the top of it [pans upward] and there is the bottom [pans downward]. [Walks forward.] It’s a village. Look, there is the other one. And there are probably more. [Pans left.] This might be one too … a big one. [Zooms forward.] [Shows three more discovered while walking.]Look … a baby one, for a baby woodrat. [And zooms forward to scrub jay perched on a twig.]
In love, light and joy,
I Am of the Stars
