The Path to Grace . by Alice B. Clagett

Dear Ones,

Here is quite an interesting conceptualization of ego and grace …

Image: Subtle picture of ego: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DY5P2LYXkAARiuv.jpg ..This image illustrates how ego prevents the descent of grace.

The picture implies what an act of will it takes to break through ego and access grace. To me, grace is the quality of this Universe that always stands ready to reach down through the Veil to help us reach the divine. But since this Universe is governed by free will, in order to access grace, we must ask for it with all our hearts.

Ancient Indian texts used to phrase this universal law allegorically: “If you take one step toward your guru, he will take 10 steps toward you.” In this context, ‘guru’ is the quality … or fundamental longing … of darkness to merge with light. We may think of it as an avatar, as God, as the Elohim, or as our own Higher Self … it makes no difference. The important thing is to think of ‘guru’ in the way that speaks to our own heart, so that we can summon the extreme strength of will we will need to pierce the Veil.

In love, light and joy,
I Am of the Stars
