Dear Ones,

Here is a video with fairly good proof that the “Woodpecker!” call is a Quail call and not a Woodpecker call. Oops! My bad!

Featured in the video, besides Male, Female, and Juvenile Quail are Mourning Doves and California Towhees.

There is a Summary after the video …

Oops! It’s QUAIL Which Make That ‘Woodpecker’ Sound!
By Alice B. Clagett

Hello, Dear Ones. It’s Alice. I Am of the Stars.

I found out the most embarrassing thing just now! ‘Wood HECK-er’ is what the Quail say when the coast is clear and they can come and get a drink of water without being preyed upon by the Hawks and so forth.

It’s not about the Woodpeckers. Please excuse me. I’m so very embarrassed!

Caption: A Male Quail

Songbird to other Songbirds: Look at that. They are getting a drink of water.

Quail to the Quail that is making the ‘Woodpecker’ sound: Tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk! Would you stop it!

Quail: Dear me, dear me, dear me, dear me …

Quail: Dear me.

Quail: Dear me! Dear me, Dear me!

Same Quail (continuing): … AN-gry!

Another Quail (in a soothing, shirring voice): De-e-e-ear me! …

[sound of an approaching airplane]

A Quail (in a rat-a-tat sound, like drops of water plopping quickly on the ground. You could also call this a chop-chop sound): I am flying.

Caption: Is this a “Look out! Look out! Look out!” sound from a Quail warning of the approaching airplane?

Quail may really be saying to the airplane: MER-cy! MER-cy! MER-cy! MER-cy!

A Quail, flying away (in a rat-a-tat sound, like drops of water plopping quickly on the ground, or like a chop-chop sound): I AM flying away.

SUMMARY OF THE VIDEO

Backyard Concerts: “Moon Boots” Song by Kybe
Comments by Alice B. Clagett and by the Songbirds and the Mourning Dove

Hello, Dear Ones. It’s Alice. I Am of the Stars.

I have heard a saying that “music soothes the savage heart.”

[Songbird announces concert to it’s friends.]

Alice to Readers: There are so many savage things going on in the world today, I thought I would give it a try with another backyard concert, using the music of Kybe from Pixabay called “Moon Boots.”

This has to do with how the imagination soars past time and space as we lie dreaming. The stars are all around us. And the woes and cares of Earth are far below.

Let’s see what the Songbirds think.

Songbird 1: What?!

Songbird 2: ‘See what the Songbirds think’ … (and etc.)

Alice to Readers: So, here is “Moon Boots” by Kybe … [Plays the music.] …

Songbird 1: Songbirds LIKE HAP-py music!

Songbird is chirping happily.

Alice is repeating the occasional phrase from the lyrics: “Sky! … Way high! … No fear! … Chasing Stars through the atmosphere! Exploring galaxies.” … We can do that! We can have that feeling in our hearts. Cosmic Consciousness! Yeah! … “Reach for the sky.” … That’s us. We’re like that.

[Turns music off.]

Alice to Readers: You get the idea. This is a terrific piece of music.

In the night, when everyone is fearful, we can transform the energy to the Cosmic Consciousness, to the Love of the Heart. We can do that.

We can put on our Moon Boots. We can remember we’re Cosmic Beings. We can roam the galaxy. We have the freedom to be whatever and whoever and wherever we want to be.

Isn’t this a cool piece of music? Really terrific!

Well, I hope you have a chance to listen to the whole soundtrack. It’s very inspiring. It might be great at night, when other people are scared of this and scared of that. We can play that music and we can transform the Darkness to the Light.

. . . . .

That’s all for now, Dear Ones.

God bless you all,
Keep you safe,
And be with you
Through night and day …
Through time and space …
In every place and every way.

In love, light and joy
This is Alice B. Clagett.

Songbird 1 to Alice: We DO want to be quoted! … THANK you!

Mourning Dove to Alice: Mourning Dove LOVED that Concert!

Songbird 2 to Alice: THANK you! … We REALLY liked it. Yep.

Alice to Readers: They’re very quiet today. I think they liked it … Yep, They did.

MORE INFORMATION

“‘Music soothes the savage heart’ (or breast) is a famous line from William Congreve’s 1697 play ‘The Mourning Bride’, meaning music has the power to calm intense emotions, even aggression, by appealing to our inner selves, much like it can move inanimate objects like rocks or trees; it highlights music’s ability to reduce stress, lift spirits, provide emotional support, and even heal.” –Google AI

SUMMARY OF THE VIDEO

Backyard Concert for My Birds Was a Big Success
By Alice B. Clagett

Hello, Dear Ones. It’s Alice. I Am of the Stars.

I have an interest in what the Birds think of various sorts of music, and so I have recorded one Pixabay soundtrack called “Chants of the Ancients” by Kybe. I am just wondering, if I play it very softly, what the Songbirds … and maybe the Raven … will say. Who knows?

So we’re going to give it a try, and we’re just going to see what happens.

Ok, so now, all we have by way of an audience right this minute are these two birds here on the power line, …

Songbird to Alice: These are scaaared people!

Alice to Readers (continued): … one other Person (a Mourning Dove) up here … [zooms in] … yes, right here. Concert! Three … three People. Bird People!

The trouble is, there has been a very large Hawk, for the last three days, frequenting my backyard. And Hawks are notorious for killing Songbirds. This is a very huge Cooper’s Hawk.

And so everybody is traipsing about the backyard very quietly right now. I don’t blame them … So am I!

We may not get much of an audience today. But I am going to give it a try. [Begins to play music.] “Chants of the Ancients” by Kybe.

Can you hear the Mourning Doves cooing?

[Music is softly playing.] Alice to Readers (of music): Pretty, huh? Beautiful! … Oh, We have two visitors here! … [Zooms to two Songbirds on the fence, which fly off.]

That was too loud, I think. I turned it down … There are six Songbirds now!

Songbird 1 to Songbird 2: What does she mean by that?

Songbird 2 to Songbird 1: One two three four five six is what she means.

Songbird 1 to Alice: The music is really so beautiful!

Alice to Songbird 1: You like it?

Songbird 1 to Alice (scolding): We could not hear. We could not hear the music. [It is thinking how pretty the music is. Maybe it missed something because I was speaking over the music.]

Alice to Readers: That Songbird just said …

Songbird 1 to Alice: @#!! Can’t hear what they are saying.

Alice to Readers (continued): … it was a very pretty tune. Did you hear that? Missed the first part. Never heard such a pretty tune, I think.

Raven to Alice (from afar): I also got that.

Alice to Readers: Oh! Mr. Raven.

Songbird to Raven: Very very very pretty!

[Airplane begins to fly over.]

Alice to Readers: ‘Very, very beautiful!’ Did you hear?

Alice to Readers (looking up to the sky): Here comes Mr. Raven. [Zooms to Raven perched on power pole.]

Raven to everyone: Walk! Walk! Walk! Walk!

Alice to Raven: Where are you? Where are you, Mr. Raven? … There you are … I was walking!

Alice to Readers: Hope you’re having a good time so far …. He (Raven) says, ‘Walk, Walk, Walk’.

Alice to Raven: What do you think?

Alice to Readers: Oh! Another Raven. [Zooms camera to Ravens on power pole.]

Alice to Ravens: Two Ravens. Beautiful!

Father Raven to Mother Raven: Walk! Walk! Walk!

Mother Raven to Father Raven (softly and quietly): Walk!

[Alice zooms to Raven and Mourning Dove audience on power pole and power line.]

Alice to Readers: Beautiful! It’s a bigger hit with these birds than strident music or rock-and-roll or like that. Quiet music may be better. That’s what I’m getting.

Songbird to Alice: Yes, It is.

Alice to new Songbird on power line: What do you think?

Alice to Readers: Someone new!

In love, light and joy, … Oh! [looks up] ..
This is Alice B. Clagett.
I Am of the Stars … and so are you!

Songbird to other Songbirds: That was BEAUtiful music … really BEAUtiful!

You know about my wonderful, world-class WordPress website “Awakening with Planet Earth” … https://awakeningwithplanetearth.com … right? See you there.

Alice to Songbirds: Dudes! It’s so nice to have you here! [Zooms to the two Ravens listening while perched on top of the power pole] … Wow! Beautiful! Wow! Wowee! … ‘Bye! So long, everybody!

Alice to Readers: So … The Songbirds were discussing this music. And one of them just said: ‘Sweet, sweet music!’ … And they really like it.

Songbird 1 to Alice: Yep, We do. We really like it!

Alice to Songbird: 1 Sweet, sweet!

Songbird 2 to Songbird 1: Don’t repeat that word ‘Sweet sweet’.

Songbird 1 to Alice (getting annoyed): Yep, We did. We like it.

Alice to Readers (laughing): They were using off color language right then. I can’t say it.

Songbird 1 (annoyed): Really really really really really really really really good music.

Songbird 2: Cut that out.

Songbird 1: Sweet music.

Alice to Readers: Sweet sweet music. It’s amazing what good taste Songbirds and Ravens have, isn’t it? It’s terrific!

Songbird 1: Sweet sweet music.

Alice to Readers: Sweet sweet music. [Waves goodbye.]
