SUMMARY OF THE VIDEO
Ravens Somersault and Laugh. Songbirds Say: We LOVE You!
By Alice B. Clagett
The Audience
Alice: Mr. Raven? Ha, ha, ha, ha!
Mr. Raven: Ha, ha, ha, ha!
Alice: Ha, ha, ha, ha! I love you! Mr. Raven!
Mr. Raven: Ha, ha, ha, ha! [Mr. Raven is not keen on sentiment.]
Alice: Hey, Songbirds! I love you!
Songbirds: We love you three, Dharm D!
[My spiritual name ‘Dharma’ means ‘The eternal, inherent nature of Reality – which supports right behavior and social order’. I see the Songbirds have taken a liking to this name.]
. . . . .
Hello, Dear Ones! It’s Alice! I Am of the Stars.
This is an amazing story. The other day I was shopping. I went to get my hair cut. As you can see, my haircut was a little overexuberant. When I went to pay, I could not find my wallet in my backpack. I could not find it anywhere. I thought maybe I had lost it, and I got upset. But I managed to pay, thank goodness!
Then I searched through my backpack over and over again in the car, and I finally found my right slim wallet without too much in it. That was a big relief.
So I had a big upset; then I had a big relief. I went to another store, and I started to get out. Emotions must be broadcast really loudly through the psychic plane …
Mr. Raven laughs uproariously.
[This is hard to believe! Mr. Raven is going on about how humans broadcast upset emotions and is laughing about it!]
… and the birds must be picking up on it … That is all I can say … because I got out of my car, and across the parking lot, across the street, in a tree, in the …
Mr. Raven, flying past my head: Ha, ha, ha, ha! Dharm Darshan Kaur: Hawk, hawk!
Alice: What? What’s wrong? What’s up?
Mr. Raven: Hawk, hawk!
Alice: Hawk! Oh, Mr. Hawk … It’s a hawk fight.
Mr. Raven: Aaaah!
Alice: Whoa!
. . . . .
What happened was Mr. Raven came this way [overhead to my left] chasing a hawk … the kind with tiips on their wings … a smaller hawk than a Cooper’s hawk … and there was a fly-by. He went ‘tchooo’, like this [signals with hand] past the hawk and upset the hawk’s balance just a little bit; but the hawk flew on.
Yesterday I saw quite the opposite. There as a very small hawk, and it was chasing Mr. Raven over that way [to my left]. So size matters in the Hawk-Raven chases. The smaller the bird, the more agile the bird is, the more capable the bird is of executing aerial maneuvers that might discombobulate its competitor.
So sometimes the small hawks chase the Raven … even Mr. Mockingbird chases the Raven … but most of the time Mr. Raven chases the hawks, especially the big hawks.
That goes along with a martial arts precept I learned many years ago that has to do with cunning. It states that cunning and wit are bound to win over just plain muscle. You know? There is something to be said for knowing your moves, for being very agile, for being able to change on a moment’s notice. That can unsettle a very fearsome, huge, daunting opponent.
If you are careful, you can win, even when the odds are greatly against you. That is what can be said for cunning and a smaller size. That is something that we ladies might take seriously.
[Songbird is going on about how Mr. Raven had a REALLY great time fighting the Hawk.]
. . . . .
So there I was in the parking lot. I got out of the car, and I heard absolutely belly-laughing commotion going on, past the parking lot, past the street, in a tree beside a house far over there [gestures to right] … at least a fourth of a block away … maybe half a blook away … a long way away.
There were two Ravens there. They were doing somersaults in the air, they were so riotously amused. I got the feeling they were amused at me. Maybe I was wrong, but I think that they were amused at me.
First I thought, you know, they always say they teach their young from very early on, never to feel fear … always to be completely courageous …
Songbird 1: What does ‘courageous’ mean?
Songbird 2 [farther away]: It means REALLY brave.
Songbird 1: I-I-I see!
. . . . .
… always to be right here right now … not to worry about the past; not to worry about the future … just to be here in the moment and feel the joy of the moment.
The Ravens laugh all the time at humans because we have such variable emotions. We can move from down in the dumps to sky high in a New York minute. Some people call this … what do they call it? … ‘manic-depressive disorder’ …
Songbird: What?!
Alice: … but in fact, those are the people that are only in touch with their rational minds. They are not in touch with their emotional bodies … what we esotericists call the subtle body termed the ‘emotional body’.
The more in touch we are with our emotions, the healthier we are as human beings. So for instance, when we notice we are down in the dumps we can change our mood and move on to a state of joy and being present in the moment. That is more akin to what the ravens said.
I believe that the Raven Folk must have taught that spiritual teacher known as Ram Dass, who came out with that book “Be Here Now” so many years ago. The book “Be Here Now” was a great lesson to me in my youth. I do not know if you are familiar with it.
Alice: So here we have the Ravens. They may be thinking I am making fun of them.
Raven: Walk, walk, walk!
Alice to Raven: I am not making fun of the Ravens.
Raven, nearby: Walk!
Alice to Raven: No, I would not do that … never in a million years!
Raven, nearby: Walk!
Alice, to Raven: What?
Raven, nearby: Walk!
Alice: Ravens are huge, you know. It is good to be on their good side.
. . . . .
So I was thinking those thoughts about those two Ravens who thought that my emotional roller coaster was so funny. And it is very unlike me.
So I thought maybe I would try the universal lingo ‘I love you’ … what the dolphins do and everybody does … all the birds do it … and it goes like this: “I love youuu.”
Mr. Raven ignores this.
Songbird says: WE love you three, Dharm D!
[Thank goodness for the Songbirds!]
. . . . .
… and see if the mood would change. So I was talking to the Ravens way over there [across the parking lot, past the road, in the trees next to the house]
… and I admit my hearing is better than that of most humans. It is what they call ‘extra-sensitive hearing’. I could hear the Ravens very well. In fact, it sounded like a din and a commotion. But I do not know if the other people around in the parking lot could hear it.
When I said to the Ravens “I love youuu” I was looking up in the air … and a young man in the parking lot looked up at me and said: Gosh, thank you very much!
He was so sincere, so sweet, such a good person in his heart! I thought to myself: If only we could tell everyone that! … not in the way that we want something from them, but in such a way that their hearts are lifted up! … like the presence of the Ravens and the Songbirds in my life brings me joy in the present moment. Their behavior is completely the opposite of our normal human behavior.
Anyway, if we could only lift people up in the way that Ram Dass mentioned … in the way that the Ravens teach … then the world would change completely, don’t you think?
Yes it would!
Well, God bless you all,
And keep you safe,
And be with you
Through all your days.
Raven 1: Hawk, hawk!
Raven 2: Hawk, hawk!
Alice: And that is the warning call. I have to go!
Hawk 1: Hawk, hawk!
