INTRODUCTION
Dear Ones,
This video shows aerial battles between the ravens and the hawks. The Ravens sense a hawk approaching hard and fast from the rear by changes in the wind currents. Ravens are amazingly skilled riders of the wind.
There is also a scene where a yellow-breasted chat attacks one of the ravens mid-air.
There is an edited Summary after the vide.

SUMMARY OF THE VIDEO
When you look at the video, look for the places where the below images appear. The places where the images appear are where you will hear the dialog transcribed below. The transcription includes my voice, the voices of two songbirds, and the voices of the Ravens and the Hawk.
1 Songbird-Cheep Cheep Cheep Look at This
Songbird says loudly: “CHRRRRR. WE CHEEP CHEEP CHEEP CHEEP CHEEP CHEEP! Look THERRRE!”
Another songbird says (more softly): “I did look there.”

5 Raven Chases Hawk – Four Aerial Engagements
One of the Ravens peels off and the other Raven chases and fights the Hawk solo. There are four ‘engagements’ at close quarters. Each time the two antagonists engage each other, there is a vocalization.
In the first engagement, the Raven calls loudly: “Hawk HAWK!”
In the second engagement, the Raven calls loudly: “Hawk HAWK!” … but the tone of voice is different. The Hawk reversed direction mid-air and that caught the Raven by surprise. The Tone of the Raven’s call indicated that it has been caught a little off guard … although the Raven right away recovers its aplomb for the next engagement.

. . . . .
In the third engagement, the Raven calls loudly: “Hawk HAWK!” in the same tone of voice as he did in the first encounter.
In the fourth engagement, the Hawk utters a piercing, high-pitched call): “KEEEErrr!”
The Raven calls more softly: “Hawk Hawk!” … and the engagement ends.
Alice’s Thoughts on This Four-Time Mid-Air Engagement; Are They Like Stylized Kumite in Karate? It strikes me that the Hawk’s call may have signaled its intent to end the aerial fight.
As an aside, I have heard on the telepathic plane the Raven say it has suddenly called off an aerial battle because the Hawk got mean. So either the Hawk or the Raven can call a halt to an aerial fight.
I wonder if the aerial engagements are stylized or choreographed … a little like 3-time kumite [3-time sparring] in karate, for instance? … Where two equally skilled opponents have not too great a chance of being injured.
On the other hand, should one skilled opponent land a punch on the other, the injury inflicted might be severe. In the case of Raven-Hawk kumite, the injury might be fatal!
I also wonder if the Raven’s call “Hawk Hawk” is like the kiai … a karateka’s short loud call that shows how strong his fighting spirit is.
I say this because almost every day the Ravens and the Hawk fight like this in the air over the Nature Preserve next to my house.
What do you think? Could this be so?
. . . . .
Me: “Just a minute ago one of those Ravens was cruising along this way and the Hawk came up fast and hard behind it. This time I did not warn the Raven [with my vocal voice] because the Ravens priorly had said telepathically that they could sense the air; that they know when the Hawk is approaching.
Today, I will be darned if the Raven did not turn just in the nick of time and get away from the Hawk … and the Raven said (please excuse my language): “Sneaky bastard! I know when that Hawk comes.”
That is what he said.

6 Ravens Really Know How to Ride the Air
So the Ravens were right. They really know the air currents. They really know how to Rride the air. Way so cool!

7 Top Raven Somersaults to Attack Yellow-Breasted Chat with Its Talons
That is a mockingbird [a Yellow-Breasted Chat, NOT a mockingbird!] after the Raven …
[Yellow-Breasted Chat attacks Raven mid-air. Raven somersaults to attack the Chat with its talons. Raven flies to telephone pole and Chat alights on power line by palm tree.]

There it is. That is what was after the Raven. I will check it out later. Maybe a Blue Jay? [NOT!] Something strange maybe. [Yes, a migratory bird just passing through.]
