Dear Ones,
Today I was walking in the country, and I started listening to the sounds around me – the soughing of the wind in the junipers and pines. The caw of a raven, and the scissors-slicing sound as its wings cut through the air. The crunch my shoes made on the gravel. The sound of the wind as it swooshed past the rim of my hat. The trill of a songbird. And then I would hear these sounds again, in no set order. Sometimes two at a time, one louder than the other. And then I heard a thought, but let it go and brought my attention back to the sounds around me.
So for an hour I walked, listening to the sounds of nature, and then I would hear a thought, and then I would think: Each moment’s new! And the thought would stop, and I could hear the song of the wind again. Right cool! Quite cool!
I did a youtube search … it seems there are not many grownups who listen to the wind blow. All I could find was Sesame Street …
Video: “Sesame Street: Listen to the Wind Blow,” by Sesame Street, 20 November 2009 … https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dyEE7EQx5Z0 ..
Most likely I have not explained it all that well … It is as if the sound of the wind, the call of the raven, and the crunch of the gravel followed me back to my apartment, and are hanging out here, like old friends.
In love, light and joy,
I Am of the Stars
