A great deal has been written about HIV and AIDS social stigma, and the degree of fear that the thought of testing and possible diagnosis engenders. Exposure to the HIV virus separates people from the mainstream of society, because of the considerable social stigma around the disease.

Yet Medicare now offer annual HIV tests … which, to me, indicates the widespread nature of this infection today …

Decrease in Criminal Penalty for Intentional HIV Transmission in California

Surge in HIV Home Testing After Charlie Sheen Show in 2017

Another indicator is the surge in purchase of the Oraquick saliva test for exposure to the HIV virus, that took place after a Charlie Sheen sow in May of 2017 …

WIDESPREAD AVAILABILITY OF HIV HOME TEST KITS

I note that the Oraquick saliva test for HIV exposure is available near the pharmacy window of the Rite-Aid, CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, and Target stores now, for about $40. I see that a three-pack is available through Amazon.com. That, to me, is another indicator of the widespread nature of the pandemic in the world today.

I have read that the Oraquick test, though very available, speedy, and painless, is only about 90% effective in diagnosing HIV infection.

There is a more effective test … I think I read that it is 98% effective in diagnosing HIV infection … called the Home Access HIV-1 Test, currently available from Walgreens and Amazon,  This test involves pricking the finger for a blood test; the test is sent to a lab for diagnosis. This test is more pricey (both to buy, and because of the cost of the lab test), a little less available, and more effective than the Oraquick test … 98% or more in accuracy, compared to about 90% accuracy, as I understand it.

NEW PRE-EXPOSURE PROPHYLAXIS TO PREVENT HIV INFECTION

There’s a new method of Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis … PrEP … that has apparently proven effective in reducing HIV infection … a daily pill that is 90% effective in this regard.

ALTERNATIVE HEALTH: CAN HIV PROGNOSIS BE COMPARE TO THAT FOR OTHER VIRUSES?

From the field of alternative health lore, there is a thought that HIV exposure may not be a fatal diagnosis, but rather, more like the common cold, or like other viral STDs, in that it may cause higher blood titers (technically, a diagnosis of AIDS) when the immune system is low, and that the titers may return to normal as the immune system returns to normal strength.

A naturopathic doctor, or your local health food store, may be of help in bolstering the immune system, in the event you have been exposed to the HIV virus, and suffer an outbreak of symptoms previously termed AIDS.

OCCULT LORE: EFFECT OF SOCIAL STIGMA ON THE IMMUNE SYSTEM

From an interdimensional point of view, it seems to me likely that the ‘death-sentence’ nature of HIV exposure in the 1980s in America, had to do with the very severe social stigma regarding alternative lifestyles and drug use in those days. In other words, the opinions of the masses of people in the United States, in a way, doomed those exposed to HIV in the 1980s. An understanding of effect of social mores on the immune system depends on understanding of the nature and potency of thought forms. This is occult lore not widely know as yet. The solution to this aspect of the severity of the HIV pandemic has to do with public education regarding tolerance of diversity, and development of a compassionate attitude toward our fellow human beings.
