Tonight’s strong geostorm is still in progress at 6:45 am here in Los Angeles,
This has been quite the protonfall roller coaster ride. Some house ago there was almost no protonfall. A half hour ago protonfall was 9,796 … which is quite high. Just a few momenta go there was a sudden swoop, and protonfall was a mild 2,540. Then it was back up at 12,519 – in the high range, and now it is at 6,669, moderate. ¡Ay, caramba!

Kp is still 7. This is most likely the cannibalized near-X flare that was predicted for this morning.
Last night my telephone land line Night Sky Alerts happened at 1:41 am, 2:50 am, and 3:10 am, and the announcements were for Kp-5, Kp-6, and Kp-7. The Space Weather website … https://spaceweather.com … was a little slower to update the Kp. For the fastest Kp updates, I feel that Space Weather’s Night Sky Alerts are a good idea.
If you are willing to put down the money for a phone land line, then you may find that more reliable than a cell phone for emergency notifications, including geostorm notifications.
Sometimes during geostorms electronics go on the fritz. Cell phones may stop working, Car batteries and smaller batteries may suddenly drain. And so on. That can cause delays in our finding out about the progress of geostorms.
Today my computer is acting loggy, slow, and is doing this and that action spontaneously. I checked, and it is not my video producer Shoes who is the culprit …
