Alligator Lizard 1 (sotto voce; the voice is thin and reedy, maybe a Girl Lizard’s voice, maybe just a Young Lizard}: Oh no, Oh no, Where will I hide? I’ll hide in this place … [Hides under chaparral.]

Alligator Lizard 2 (huffing windy voice; the voice is a little deeper than that of Alligator Lizard 1): I have to hide too …

Alligator Lizard 1 (picking up on the thoughts of Alligator Lizard 2, and speaking these thoughts in a thin and reedy voice): I’ll hide over here … [These words are spoken as Alligator Lizard 2 hides in shade of a chaparral bush.]
