Oh, we made it! Nice, huh? Just at sunset in the Santa Monica Mountains … that Light that comes after sunset …
It is almost Dark … like Light dipped in water, huh?

Really beautiful. This is Kanan Dume Road … so named because it used to go from Kanan to Dume, I guess. Up in the mountains there’s a road called the Dume Motorway; you can walk it … you can hike it … Not a lot of people know about it, though.

[Shows a car entering the road from the left side.] That was the other end of the entrance to Triunfo Canyon Road … It means ‘Triumph’ Canyon. There is a beautiful trailer court in the oak forest down that way. You can walk over to it, but the road is blocked off, so motor vehicles cannot get through. [Shows road on the right.] Troutdale Drive. I think there is a trout pond right down there. They stocked up, and people can go fishing.And right now, night is falling; night is coming! It is like a surrender of the daylight into the nighttime … Happens every night: A chance for us to see the Light surrender to the Dark …

.. and every morning: A chance for us to see the Dark surrender to the Light again.
It is kind of cool; kind of a lesson. I figure, if I were perfect, I would fall into each moment, the way that the Sun rises, and the Sun sets.
