Hello, Dear Ones, It’s Alice. I Am of the Stars.

The CME (coronal mass ejection) that was much vaunted, and was supposed to last for 3 hours, was a bit of a fizzle. The CME hit Earth on the 9^th of February 2022, and the impact that was felt in our electromagnetosphere took place the following day, and lasted for about 6 hours. It was only a Planetary K index (Kp index) of about 5, which is very mild … and I would say, not very commotional on the noospheric plane, at least for me. I hope so for you as well.

The thing of it is, I had no opportunity to test my screen tent with the copper fabric over it this time. But I am keeping it at the ready for the next time. As soon as it is necessary, I will let you know how it does.

P.S. In the succeeding few days, the wake of the departed CME has apparently caused some Kp=5 fillips that have taken me by surprise.I remember the wake of my dad’s outboard motor on the Chesapeake Bay, in my youthful days. I recall how, long after our fishing boat had passed on by, mildly turbulent waves of water washed over the spot where our boat once had been …

In the same way, waves of CME energy may be washing over Earth, even though the CME has gone on by Earth, and off into wider spatial ‘waters’.

P.S. Here are the Space Weather Prediction Center/National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (SWPC/NASA) on the Kp-index for 9 February 2022 and the following few days. They are from the ‘Data’ tab on the SWPC/NASA Planetary K-Index page that lists these data for the most recent 30 days … https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/products/planetary-k-index ..

I gather that ‘Fredericksburg’ refers to Fredericksburg, Virginia, and  ‘College’ refers to College, Alaska. I bolded and K-=5 or higher and put these data in red font. To some extent, these data support the above wave hypothesis for the wake of a departing CME …
