Dear Ones,

I asked Google AI: From what is the word Alice derived? Google AI said:

“The word Alice is derived from the Old French name Aalis, which is a short form of the Germanic name Adalheidis. The original German name means ‘noble’ and ‘exalted’, making Alice essentially mean ‘of noble kind’ or ‘noble-natured’.

Old High German: The name traces back to Adalheidis, a compound of two elements: aþala (‘noble’) and haidu (‘kind’ or ‘appearance’).

Old French: In Old French, the name became Aalis, a diminutive form of Adelais.

Norman Conquest: The name entered the English language through the Norman Conquest in the 12th century and gained popularity after that.”

I LEARNED ABOUT THE MEANING OF MY FIRST NAME EARLY IN LIFE by looking it up in Webster’s Seventh New Collegiate Dictionary [which was the favorite of all my books when I was young] under the category “A Pronouncing Vocabulary of Common English Given Names.”

RIGHT AFTER THAT category is the most excellent “Vocabulary of Rhymes.” And then – the rules of Spelling, Plurals, Punctuation, Compounds, and Italicization. And then [now outmoded] – Lists of Colleges and Universities in the United States and Canada!

This edition can still be found in used book stores from time to time.

I FIGURED, SINCE MY FIRST NAME MEANS ‘NOBLE’, that I ought to do my best to live up to that name. And so, I do my best to think noble thoughts, and to treat other people nobly, and to do noble things in the world.

At my website “Awakening with Planet Earth’ I strive to speak nobly, and to help other Lightworkers uplift the world.

For awhile, back in the day, I studied with the American Sikhs. Because of the meaning of my first name, I was taken with their notion that women are noble. I loved the song we sang about that, which Sat Kirin Kaur Khalsa sings quite beautifully here …

I know the notion of living nobly doesn’t get much press these days. I do feel, for myself, that while we are blessed with human form, we might go for the highest principles and live these truths.

Nobility is not just a dream.
It is what we can become
What we can right now be
How we can find sanctuary in a world of pain
How we can heal the All That Is
How we can be the very best
That we can be.

God bless you all
And keep you safe,
And be with you
Through all your days!

In love, light and joy
This is Alice B. Clagett.
I Am of the Stars … and so are you!
