Hello, everyone. It’s Alice. I Am of the Stars.

Here I am at Lake Piru. It has been open for over a month, unbeknownst to me. I have something to show you that the lake reminds me of right now.

The water is very dried up. The level of the lake is much lower than it was the last time I took photos here. This is before the rains in September, so that explains it, I guess. Very low …

I guess this is the western edge of the lake. The water level is very low. The wind is up, and the surf is beating against the beach.

Over on the far side, you can see where the water line is during the high water season. See? … very high up. And then, below the top of the high water line, there is the strangest horizontal striation in the rise of ground there. That is what I wanted to show you. It reminds me a little bit of the bottom of one of the pyramids in Egypt.

These formations … these striated, horizontal formations … go on and on for a long way, during the time of low water in autumn. See? … on and on, on down.
