PURPORTED HEALTH BENEFITS
There is an herbal extract powder called He Shou Wu that is said to have many wonderful health qualities, including longevity, hair strength and hair growth, and liver and kidney detoxification.
STORY ABOUT MR. HE
There is quite a colorful tale about this herb, and a gentleman named Mr. He, who found at the age of 50 or so that he could, after all, have children by adding this herb to his diet. As legend would have it, he married, had 19 children, and lived till 160 years of age. And his hair changed from grey to black! …

I have tried this herb from time to time. The one I bought was “He Shou Wu Fo ti Root Extract Powder – by Primal Herb | Longevity Tea – Supports Hair Growth & Glowing Skin | Organic Potent 30:1-84 Servings – Aged Roots | Includes Bamboo Spoon ” by Primal Herb … which I purchased at Amazon … www.amazon.com ..
DOSE
I have found, in general, in the use of health supplements, herbs, and Western medicines, it is best to follow one’s own intuition regarding the size of the dose and the frequency of use. That is just my personal intuition; many people feel safer taking ‘just what the doctor orders’. So, for those who are not confident of their intuition, I agree the latter may be the best course of action.
In my case, because I am very sensitive to herbs, I find it best for me to use only a ‘grain’ of He Shou Wu a week … a ‘grain’ is a unit of measurement about as big as a wheat seed or a barley seed. (1) I used it in occasionally in 2017, and priorly, with good success, after I adjusted the dose down to an occasional ‘grain’. For me, it worked fine. You must judge for yourself.
CAVEAT
From my own experience, I ought to offer this advice. I also purchased from Amazon, in 2017, a similar herb called “Fo-Ti Tieng – Ho Shou Wu – Powder,” by TerraVita, sold by ZooScape … There was something about it that did not agree with me, and I had to discard it. Note the similarity in the name … So I would suggest avoiding ‘Ho’ and trying out ‘He’, if the notion appeals to you.
In love, light and joy,
I Am of the Stars
