Dear Ones,
A couple of days ago, near the end of one of Peggy Black’s webinars (1), I was overcome with a feeling of gratitude for her inspiring message. Not my usual kind of gratitude, but an intense – all engulfing – feeling of gratitude.
Wow! It felt like someone had just poured pure glacier water into my body. As if my physical form were a pitcher, with my head open at the top, and pure, chill water was just gushing in from ? the sky? Yet – and this is a mystery … I didn’t feel cold … or maybe it was cold and not cold – both at the same time …
It was a little like that strange word frisson. The word means ‘shudder, tingle, shiver, thrill’. It refers to a physical sensation, the sort of sensation that is sometimes followed by ‘goosebumps’ on the skin. What I always found confusing is the fact that it’s used to describe fright and excitement, two very different emotions. So I could say that the word frisson describes a physical sensation, and the mental/emotional body attaches varied meanings to the physical sensation.
Just so with this feeling of gratitude I felt during Peggy’s webinar … the operant word is physical – not mental at all. I felt a physical feeling of glacier water being poured into the top of my head, and then slowly coursing down through all my cells, down to just beneath my heart.
It was a little like that York Peppermint Patty ski jump ad. Incredibly delicious! :
