Pragmatic Prophet: California Death Rate from COVID

Dear Ones,

Loathe though I be to broach such a topic, here are the figures on death by COVID in California to date: (64,016 deaths) divided by (4,085,001 confirmed cases to date) times 100 (to get the percent) = 1.6% death rate. Not so awful after all!

Dear Ones,

It looks like U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham got the same mild sinus congestion symptoms from the Delta variant as I did a few weeks ago. I found buffered vitamin C alleviated the symptoms. I note the Senator had already been vaccinated for COVID, as have I been.

Unlike the news media, I would not call this a ‘breakthrough infection’, but rather I would say it is proof that vaccination offers pretty good immunity to COVID infection. I say that because, a year prior to getting the COVID vaccine,

I apparently got COVID (although there was no test in March 2020 to prove for sure that this was COVID). I can say the symptoms I got in March 2020 … which I felt must have been COVID … were far more severe than this mild sinus congestion I experienced in July 2021. I feel, from that, that my immune system is overall very prepared to fight off new COVID variants.

The buffered vitamin C I use, which I purchased on Amazon was called: “Thorne Research – Buffered C Powder – Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) with Calcium, Magnesium, and Potassium – 8.15 Oz.”

Of course, others may work just as well, provided they are ‘buffered’, so as to go easy on the intestinal tract … at least, that is how I understand it). Could be something like that is available in your area.

Dear Ones,

Pragmatic Prophet here! I have a hunch that a white powder made from the seeds of a weed local to the Santa Monica Mountains may be passed off as ‘cocaine’ on the streets of Los Angeles.

The illegal substance is Datura, also known as locoweed, jimsonweed, and devil’s trumpet. Regular use of this hallucinogenic poison can cause aggressive behavior, irritability, and paranoid schizophrenia …

Eating Datura causes delirium, which is to say, inability to differentiate reality from fantasy. It causes vivid, dream-like hallucinations and mental confusion. Other symptoms are the heart beating too fast, bizarre and sometimes violent behavior, and stripping off one’s clothes possibly in a public place.

After ingesting the drug, a person feels restless, depressed, and anxious. Other symptoms are dilation of the pupils of the eyes, inability to urinate, muscle stiffness, temporary paralysis, and amnesia. In a few cases, people have died after ingesting the drug.

A person begins feeling the symptoms about an hour after ingesting this illegal substance. The symptoms last from one or two days to more than 2 weeks. Most people hope never to repeat the experience.

Please warn your neighbors and friends of the bad effects of using this cocaine ‘knockoff’.

Dear Ones,

It appears to me that the COVID delta variant has taken over COVID cases in CA, and because it is very infectious, infections with COVID are increasing. But from the statistics I see that daily deaths from COVID in California are holding steady.

If that is true, then the COVID epidemic, which has so far lasted 14 months in the United States, is falling in line with the 1918 Influenza Epidemic, which lasted 15 months. Could be the worst is over.
