Here are images from the Santa Monica Mountains, California, that were taken on 31 August 2023.

Spirit Images. Amongst these images are several of a Deva and Nature Spirits of the Coast Live Oak (Quercus agrifolia). These are Light Sculptures of the non-physical beings that help the oak trees to flourish in the physical world.

Microecosystem Images. Amongst others of the below images you can see I have begun labeling small Santa Monica Mountains plant communities termed Microecosystems.

Google AI gives as examples of Microecosystems the following: A single rotting log, a small pond, or a patch of lichen on a rock. Thus may be seen that I include in my photos of microecosystems several plants found on the same small patch of land, or plants that live ‘cheek by jowl’ alongside a creek, or plants that live on a rock face, and so on.

I feel these images may add to naturalists’ understanding of the wild plants of the Santa Monica Mountains. as in most prior instances photos feature each wild plant, one by one.

I feel it is important to understand what wild plants associate with one another, and in what microecosystems. Don’t you agree? …
