Hummingbird (repeating my thoughts): Big, big, big one! Really big! Big, big, big one!
Borer Beetle (soft buzzing voice): I don’t want her to TALK with me at all. (3x)
Hummingbird: Great, great big one! (3x)
Alice to Readers: [I found out it’s a Borer Beetle.]
So, the Hummingbirds just said this is a Staghorn Beetle. See, they’re pretty big. Very big. And Peace Dove is utterly appalled at the size of them. There’s Peace Dove.
Alice to Peace Dove: Not too happy about the whole thing, right? Peace Dove. One big Beetle. Very big Staghorn Beetle. You think about that.
[I found out it’s a Borer Beetle.]
You’re looking so great these days. Handsome, fine. You’re looking all … And you’re flying so well. Yeah. Hermes. Hermes, the Peace Dove. And he’s learned how to perch, right? Everything. Doing everything right. And he’s a great philosopher, Hermes. Yeah. And a great peacemaker for all the beings all over this community. It’s an amazing blessing that Hermes is here right now.
Hermes (embarrassed) to Alice: I don’t want anyone to know that I’m here right now.
Alice to Readers: Hermes. Peace Dove.
Borer Beetle (raucous, chirring voice): PLEASE don’t you mistreat me!
Alice to Readers (re Beetle): Look, look. He’s bigger than three fingers … counting his antennae.
Borer Beetle: PLEASE!
Alice to Readers: Pretty big antennae. Where are your antennae? Oh, there they are. Yeah.
Borer Beetle: STOP!
Hummingbird (speaking for Borer Beetle: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!
