I was pondering, this morning, the felon release program in Los Angeles called Homeboy Industries. The last time I looked, that was headed up by a Jesuit. And I was thinking to myself:
Thank God it is a religious group that is involved in this effort, and not some people that are ‘power over’… because if it were power-over people that were in charge of all the felons in Los Angeles … those that had been released from jail … Lord knows what would be happening here now, do you not think?
We are very lucky. We should thank our lucky stars.
