Dear Ones,

Mr. Paul Levy brings up some interesting points in the article …

Link: “The Mal-Practice of Psychiatry,” by Paul Levy, 30 October 2014, https://beyondmeds.com/2014/10/30/the-mal-practice-of-psychiatry/ ..

I am prompted to the following ruminations based on his article, in light of the Awakening process now underway on Earth. My comments refer not only to the usual psychiatric patient, but also to patients awakening to a superconscious state.

PSYCHIATRIC LABELS VERSUS SPONTANEOUS HEALING

I feel psychiatry tends to ‘label’ folks. It is a little like a terminal disease diagnosis; once you are labeled [ ____ ] by psychiatry, then to a psychiatrist, that is you, the very essence of you, for the rest of your life.

Think of all the spontaneous recoveries from physical illnesses diagnosed as ‘terminal’ … These happen all the time. But are they in the news? Uh uh.

The ability we have to regenerate our bodies, minds and Souls, that innate ability of self-healing, is just too much of an embarrassment for the medical establishment. Once they say ‘terminal’, that is what they really hope to see.

DO PSYCHOTROPIC DRUGS INHIBIT SOUL HEALING?

Mr. Levy brings up the collusion of ‘Big Pharma’, which I feel is a point well taken, not just for psychiatry, but also for physical illness.

Seems to me there is money to be made in keeping patients ‘ill’ and on medications. But how much good do these medications really do? Mr. Levy points out, and I agree, that mind medications dumb down the consciousness to the point where spiritual awakening is delayed.

IS PSYCHIATRY MISDIAGNOSING PATIENTS SO AS TO MAXIMIZE ITS MEDICAL INSURANCE COMPENSATION?

Then as to medical insurance … and this is not Mr. Levy’s point, but my own … It is quite likely that psychiatric hospitals, and maybe medical hospitals, are misdiagnosing symptoms so that they fit into the categories that will be paid for under medical insurance … for instance, misdiagnosing neuroses, which are minor psychiatric illnesses, as psychoses, for which a stay in a psychiatric hospital might be reimbursed.

As another instance, in psychiatric hospitals, I wonder why so many patients are diagnosed as bipolar? Are there not nearly as many symptoms and situations as there are patients?

This might be a slam dunk for a medical establishment … They want to get paid for their services, and that is that. Where is the ethical stance in this? What does a misdiagnosis of psychosis do to patients for the rest of their life, in the eyes of society?

This is just a thought, not a proven fact, but I do feel it would be worth checking out, as a possible abuse of Obamacare.

OUGHT A NONCONSENSUS OPINION BE TERMED A PSYCHOTIC BREAK?

Mr. Levy points out that psychiatry may consider that a person who parts from consensus opinion to be having a psychotic break from reality. Yet, he feels that our society itself is having a sort of nervous breakdown.

I myself feel this is increasingly so, as the Awakening process unfolds here on Earth. Some call it ‘cognitive dissonance’ or ‘mind mud’ or ‘noospheric chaos’. No matter how we term it, humankind is going through quite a transformative process right now.

AWAKENING TO THE SUPERCONSCIOUS STATE: THE PATIENT, THE FAMILY, AND THE COMMUNITY

It seems, from my reading of this article, that a dysfunctional family may have a member who is rising beyond the dysfunction through spiritual transformation. The family puts him in a psychiatric hospital, to get him to move back into their ‘comfort zone’ … which is to say, to relate as in past to his family.

But to a person who is awakening, who is getting his first glimpse of that superconscious state some call ‘enlightenment’, the motives of those who do not wish to change seem to me to quell his own transformative process, and to return him in a low-functioning state to the dysfunctional milieu.

A psychiatrist or psychologist, in collusion with the ‘ greater group’ … family and friends of the patient … may tacitly agree with them, label the dissident, and thus diminish them in the eyes of others.

Yet, in these days of the Awakening, all of these … the recently transforming family member, their family and friends, and the entire community, are soon to enter the transformative process as well. Or so it seems to me.

ON WIDENING THE HEALING CIRCLE TO INCLUDE SPIRITUAL COUNSELLING

During the Awakening process, everyone will be sooner or later experiencing symptoms that a psychiatrist could point a finger at. While the outcome will be the Awakening of humankind, the interim buffeting of changes in the physical and emotional bodies may well require psychotropics, which are prescribed through Western medicine.

Then, to get to the transformative value of the change we are undergoing, we may consider widening our circle of healers to include, not only the Western medical arena, but also, spiritual counselors. It is these folks that know about spontaneous healing and spiritual transformation, which are the hopeful message of New Creation on New Earth, for all humankind.

ON ASSIGNING THE SOUL AS SHAMAN IN THE HEALING PROCESS

Mr. Levy brings up his perception that psychiatry is a shamanic descent into the underworld. Well, the process of transformation, of personal alchemical change, of enlightenment, is a shamanic experience. But who is the shaman? To whom shall we proffer this power of transformation?

If we choose to assign this power to fate, or to a psychiatric label, or to another human being such as a spiritual counselor, then we give away our personal power. Then we descend into the realm of the underworld, to the rule of the forces of the unconscious mind … to black magic, do we not?

Where does the true power of healing lie? Viewed in the most positive and synchronous light, is it not our own Soul, in alignment with the Divine Will, that is the agent of this vast change?

IN CONCLUSION

Well, these are only a few comments on Mr. Levy’s well-written article, which is worth a careful read, I feel, especially if the process of Awakening from time to time makes us question our sanity …

But should we question our sanity? Or should we stand steadfast, content in asking those important questions of our Soul, and grateful in hearing its response?

Death and the Desire Elemental, versus the Ascension Process . by Alice B. Clagett

Published on 3 July 2015; revised on 26 November 2018
Previously titled: Death and the Desire Elemental

Dear Ones,

I found in one of Arthur E. Powell’s Theosophical compilations descriptions of the Soul’s progression through various subplanes of the astral realm (from coarser to more refined levels) after death …

This description seems to me to be another way of viewing the Ascension process, only during Ascension we keep physical form and also pass from the coarser astral subplanes to the more refined astral subplanes, preparatory to the fifth dimensional experience. My teachers call this process the healing of Soul wounding, resolution of karmic miasmic distortions or of morphogenetic field distortions, clearing of samskaras, and so on.

The below referenced passages, taken altogether, comprise the entirety of  “The Astral Body and Other Phenomena” compiled by Arthur E. Powell, published 1927, Quest Book edition 1973, copyright The Theosophical Publishing House, London, Ltd. 1965 … “Chapter XII: Death and the Desire Elemental.”  I have interspersed the citations with my own comments regarding Ascension.

To preserve the copyright I must cite the references rather than including the quotations. I hope this will not deter the reader from looking up the passages.

Powell, published 1927, Quest Book edition 1973, copyright The Theosophical Publishing House, London, Ltd. 1965 …  “Chapter XII: Death and the Desire Elemental,” page 107, first paragraph (beginning “At death, the…”) to page 109, paragraph 2, (ending “… coarsest plane only”.

It is this ‘box’ of astral matter through which we are now sifting, and clarifying, though we are still grounded in physical form. This keeping of the physical form is a free-will choice that is now available on ascended Earth.

Powell, published 1927, Quest Book edition 1973, copyright The Theosophical Publishing House, London, Ltd. 1965 …  “Chapter XII: Death and the Desire Elemental,” page 109, paragraph 3 (beginning “Although living in …”) to page 110, first (incomplete) paragraph (ending “… to that sub-plane”)

Since the Shift in 2012, my Body of Light has been clarifying. Until quite recently I have been experiencing something like the above. On the astral plane, my coarsest astral matter has logged onto other people’s coarsest astral matter, making my world of astral relationships seem dark and gloomy.

During a Solar Event a week or so ago (that was the CME or coronal mass ejection billed by www.spaceweather.com as being about to directly impact Earth, and later said by them to have ‘missed’ Earth … go figure!), I experienced a clarification, or ‘throwing off’, of this coarsest astral sheath. Then suddenly, my astral relationships seemed more elevated, more refined. It seemed that the people had changed, but I see now that my own astral matter clarified as a result of the Incoming Light.

Powell, published 1927, Quest Book edition 1973, copyright The Theosophical Publishing House, London, Ltd. 1965 …  “Chapter XII: Death and the Desire Elemental,” page 110, first full paragraph (beginning “When we speak …”) through the second full paragraph (ending “… their astral life”).

Sandra Walter of Ascension Path … http://www.sandrawalter.com/ … has described the ‘evanescing’ of the physical world in her ‘Light Intel’ blogs. Perception of the material world as shimmering, transparent, and ever changing has been described by Indian yogis. I have also heard that learning the art of walking through material barriers such as walls is part of the Ascension process (a part I haven’t learned yet).

Quite clearly, since we are capable of rewriting history and co-creating reality, the physical world must, perforce, have these ‘evanescing’ qualities. It is only that our physical senses have a ‘coalescing’ faculty, a ‘blur feature’; that is, a way of glossing over what they truly perceive, and leaving out the inconvenient, ever-changing truth of co-creation in favor of a ‘state of permanence’ mental filter.

Powell, published 1927, Quest Book edition 1973, copyright The Theosophical Publishing House, London, Ltd. 1965 … “Chapter XII: Death and the Desire Elemental,” page 110, third full paragraph (beginning  “This process of …”  and ending  “… his astral body”).

When we create the feeling of Oneness or Unity in our Bodies of Light, then the particles in our Body of Light disperse and homogenize. This disperses the mental filters of disease and incarnational emotional-mental wounding. The body elementals, the ‘angels within’, also disperse into the golden white light of the Body of Light, then re-emerge in perfect beauty.

In the same way, when a physical illness or emotional trauma is sensed somewhere in the body, it is good to concentrate on the more homogenized portion of the Body of Light around this dense anomaly. Generally I find that, by concentrating on lightness, dispersedness, the dense anomaly (whether physical, mental or emotional, or some combination of these) will disperse into the Body of Light. In this way the issue of physical disease and Soul wounding is resolved.
