Hello, Dear Ones, It’s Alice. I Am of the Stars.

I have for you today subsection 4.9 of the video series “Satan’s Powers and What to Do About Them,” by Alice B. Clagett. Subsection 4.8 is entitled “Lucifer.”

LUCIFER: THE SHINING ONE, THE BEARER OF LIGHT

As everyone knows, another name for Satan is Lucifer (which means ‘the shining one’, the ‘bearer of Light’).

Well yes, it is true, Satan will try to trick us into calling for help from the ‘angels of Light,’ meaning himself. When so tempted, instead call on the ‘angels of Christed love energy’. That works quite well for me; and may work for you too.

Here is an image entitled “Luzifer.” It is by Franz Stuck, and is in Wikimedia Commons. It is in the public domain. It is rather dramatic, and I believe it quite likely that Lucifer has very little on; so be forewarned about this image.

Here he is, with staring, very scary eyes, and a look about him as if he is about to pounce. Do you not feel that? It is a spookout, this image ‘Luzifer’ . . .

I read in Wikipedia that Lucifer in its meaning ‘Light-bringer’ is another name for the planet Venus, which was worshipped as the goddess Inanna by the ancient Sumerians; as the god Attar by the ancient Canaanites; and as the goddess Venus by the Roman religion. –from Link: “Venus in Culture,” in Wikipedia … https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venus_in_culture ..

These ancient beliefs, I feel, competed with the Judeo-Christian ethos, and came to be demonized, as is often the case when cosmologies differ.

COMMENT: Another name for Ishtar is Inanna, a goddess of ancient Mesopotamia. Her attributes are love and war, beauty, sex, political power and justice. She is sometimes depicted with wings and with the feet of a bird, standing on two lions.

The reason I showed you this image of Ishtar, a very beautiful woman, is that she may have been the original representation of Lucifer, who is now morphed into an ominous-looking, male being. [Shows image of ‘Luzifer’ by Franz Stuck.] It could be in this case (as has happened in other cases) that the god of one culture overtaken by another culture was demonized in this way. So something that was initially full of Light, and a bringer of Light, was changed into the bringer of the false Light … the Satan type of being … through cultural shifts.

Here is another take on all this; it is a comment I have on the notion of Lucifer according to the School of Theosophy …

I was reading in Quest Magazine recently that the School of Theosophy has what I as a Christian consider to be an erroneous emphasis on Lucifer. As a Lightworker, I have my own idea about Lucifer. It goes like this: I have had contact with the delightful beings of Light from Venus, and so I have a firsthand understanding of their loving concern for humankind. It is upsetting to me that their planet has been vilified as an aspect of Satan.

On the left side we have Sekhmet, the image of a beautiful woman in her guise as a lioness. On the right side we have the Hathor, the cow-like image of the people of Venus. Both of these images are of the people of Venus, who have been misrepresented, I feel, as Lucifer.

Conclusion

This was a bit of a complicated topic …

• We have at the beginning Lucifer as a name of Satan in the Bible, and frequently used as a synonym for Satan these days;
• then the notion that the word ‘Lucifer’ means ‘Light bringer’ or ‘Light bearer’, and is presumed to be another name for the planet Venus, which is a very good planet, in my opinion;
• and that the planet Venus was worshipped in ancient Mesopotamia as the goddess Inanna or the goddess Ishtar, who was very beautiful and was in charge of issues of love, war, beauty, sex, political power, and justice … that is a lot of issues, some good and some necessary and some unfortunate.
• Then there was the depiction in Quest magazine of the School of Theosophy of Lucifer as a Prometheus-like figure bringing fire or bringing Light to humankind.
• That is a little in line with my own notion of the beings of the planet Venus: Sekhmet and Hathor … the lioness and the cow … as bringers of culture and a whole new way of being to the people of Egypt in ancient times

Those are a lot of different ideas about the word ‘Lucifer’.
