I was surprised and heartened today to find Los Angeles once more in the forefront of prisoners’ rights nationwide. Here is the article I saw on the newsstand …

The article cites a Los Angeles deputy is suspected of raping inmates, and terms the criminal nature of such an act ‘horrific’.

This follows a few months after well known ex-Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca received a 3-year jail term for obstructing an FBI investigation into abuses in county jails …
