Journal Entry: Straight Lines . by Alice B. Clagett

Dear Ones,

I looked out the window of the hotel, at the trees along the stream bank. A straight horizontal tree branch caught my eye … very rare …

I looked at all the trees and saw not one other horizontal tree branch. Then I noticed a thick wavy branch that hung right over the streambed.

A squirrel scampered across the branch from its farthest end to the end attached to the tree trunk. The squirrel didn’t mind at all that the branch wasn’t straight!

Then I noticed, behind the trees, the roof of a house.
Talk about straight lines … man’s straight lines are never found in nature.

So, roofs are like minds
And trees are like bodies.

And cars are like minds, with ‘to do’ lists and straight routes to somewhere.
Try getting in a car with no destination in mind … just drive, and end up where you end up.

Or, try walking in nature without a map.
Be patient.
Wait for the trees and grass and flowers to reach out and touch you!

In love, light and joy,
I Am of the Stars
