ON ACCEPTING OTHER PEOPLE AS THEY ARE

I’ve been thinking … maybe what I can’t do in the New Reality is to change other people. After all, everyone has free will. Lord knows my life would be not so terrific without it. I owe it to myself, as a representative of New Earth, to respect this basic human value in everyone I meet … whether they choose wisely or otherwise, in my eyes. And to honor my own free will by living to my highest expression of energy.

PEGGY BLACK AND THE NEWS HOMEWORK

During a recent webinar (1), Peggy Black was talking about her ‘News Homework.’ As it turns out, a few years ago she started listening to the daily news. As you may know, the news these days tends to concentrate on bad things rather than good. So I imagine she might find herself writing down these ‘bad news’ topics. Then she would turn the TV off, and begin to bless the news:

“I am so grateful that all those who were in the recent typhoon are being taken care of, and their needs for food, shelter, and clothing are being met.” … or words like that. So for two years now … and probably for much longer, she has been transforming this bad news to a good outcome, through love.

ON ASKING GOD FOR A PARTICULAR OUTCOME

During the Q and A at the end of the webinar, I asked her: What if I were to wish a blessing for the news commentators just before the news begins? I could imagine a blessing that their guides be around them, and that they might be able to hear this sage advice if they are so inclined …

Peggy Black said something like this: Well but, you can start with yourself…. In other words, I can be the transformation. And when I come right down to it, where else would I start? It is only me here, now. I, and I alone, am the raw material I have to work with, to sculpt as the New Reality.

When I wish a blessing for someone else, too often ego interferes, and the concept of control creeps in. I want a certain outcome. I petition the Divine for my agenda. It is as if I were a lobbyist and the Divine a Senator, and I am saying: My Dear Senator, please bless my State with that Contract!

ON SURRENDER AND LETTING GO

How different to simply say: Dear Divine, Thy will, not mine. Show me the way …
