Dear Ones,

This image is intended to portray a forest deva and a faerie (which is one sort of nature spirit). As you may know, a deva is a particular kind of angel that cares for some aspect of Earth. In this case, it is a deva that cares for a particular forest. Nature spirits, I feel, are baby angels; in this case we could guess the nature spirit is a baby forest deva.

This is the faerie glen here … the faerie ‘forest’, I guess, is the better word. And untrammeled by human footsteps these days, because the access road was completely demolished by a spring flood one time, I guess. No one can get up here without a tremendous amount of trouble … or ‘down there’, in this case.

SUMMARY OF THE VIDEO

Hello, Dear Ones, It’s Alice. I Am of the Stars.

I have been talking to the Spirits of the Birds today, as I have been lately, for the last few weeks. I was up very early today, and I worked for a long time, and then, around sunrise, I went to sleep for an hour. And when I woke up, there were all kinds of little beings clustered around the top of my head, flying in the air. They were all saying: Don’t leave; don’t leave; don’t leave; don’t leave! … There are predators everywhere!

This has happened … I would say … a time or two before. I just took some time to figure out what was happening. I went outside to the front yard, where the jacaranda trees are. There were lots of birds in the trees. And everywhere where I heard bird song I could also hear a Spirit of the Bird talking to me.

They say that there are beings in the air that are predators, and that, when a person chants: Om Ma … it helps protect the Spirits of the Birds, which may be what they call the faeries that protect the birds …

It helps protect them from these beings in the air … the predators in the air.

Then I thought I would go for a particular hike, but they did not like that idea. They wanted me to go for a hike where there were lots of birds. So here I am right now, on a trail with lots of birds amongst the chaparral. The Spirits of the Birds are talking to me again. And someone told me … on the psychic plane, he said: Try to talk to other types of beings too. Talk to other beings than the Spirits of the Air.

So I tried my old chant: Mother Earth loves me. And the Spirits of the Birds … the nature spirits that guard and protect the birds, I guess … were laughing. It was like ‘tittering’ … it was really sweet. And they said: Oh, those beings! We’re not supposed to talk to them!

And I said: Why? Why is that?

They said: We’re just not supposed to talk to them.

So I guess the Spirits of the Earth might be the brownies and the gnomes we have talked about before; and that the Spirits of the Air, the nature elementals of the air … the sylphs … and the faeries that associate with the birds and protect them … do not have much talking to do with the brownies and the gnomes that protect the things close to the surface of the Earth and just beneath it. And far beneath it are the dwarves.

I gather from the way that they felt about it, that they are not on hostile terms with the beings of the Earth … the ones that are summoned through the chant: Mother Earth loves me … but they just do not have much to do with them. They are a different sort of being. Now you know to chant: Om Ma for the Spirits of the Air and the faeries that protect the birds, and to chant Mother Earth loves me … for the brownies, the gnomes, and the dwarves that dwell far beneath the Earth.

When to Chant ‘Om Ma’ and When to Chant ‘Mother Earth Loves Me’

I was walking along, and I was told, just now, by the Spirits of the Birds, that the time to chant: Om Ma … is early in the morning … after sunrise, and before 10 am. As it is around 10 am now, they advised me to start chanting: Mother Earth loves me … They said: It’s not too late to chant that.

“If you start to get tired, go on back, or ‘Vekr’ will grab you and he won’t let go.”

I was just talking to the Spirits of the Air and the Faeries of the Birds … the nature spirits of the birds … and I was walking up a little hill on this nature path as I did so. And one of the Spirits of the Birds said to me: If you start to get tired, go on back, or ‘Vekr’ will grab you and he won’t let go.

And I got to thinking about this word ‘Vekr’, that I have been hearing for years now, from the nature realm. At first I thought it was a human being that I knew. And now I think I must have heard a very old-time name for the beings in the air that the nature spirits fear … ‘Vekr’ … so old that it is lost in the mists of history until now, and only just now has reappeared.

Sidebar: Are ‘Vekr’ the same as ‘Asuras’?

Maybe ‘Vekr’ are the power-seeking beings known in Ancient India as ‘Asuras’, which war against the beings of the Devic Realm.

There is purported to be another evil class of beings known as Rakshasas (which I take to be the red or black devils of Christian literature) that war against saints and Asuras are said to live underground (although, in my clair experience, they are sometimes chased through the air by the nature spirits, who laugh joyfully at causing the asuras to flee).

Legends say that Rakshasas live on or above the surface of the Earth (although, in my clair experience, the most evil of the Rakshasas seem to reside in the hellworlds found in the densest negative aspects of the astral plane, and on the physical plane, near the molten core of Earth).

The chant May the Animals Fall Asleep … I have spoken of it before …

… is a good chant or song to sing, to eliminate the evil intentions of the animals of the air from our personal energy field. [Sings:] May the air fall asleep. May the animals fall asleep.

I tried ‘May the air fall asleep’ this morning, and the Spirits of the Birds said: Don’t sing that! We need to stay wide awake right now, because of the predators in the air.

So I suggest: May the animals fall asleep. But if you say that, then sometimes the birds start to fall asleep, or the rabbits start to fall asleep, or the squirrels start to fall asleep. It might be better to only say that in an emergency, when all ‘Hectorville’ … war … has broken loose on the psychic plane, and all the nature spirits are warring against all the beings they call ‘Vekr’.

Spirits of the Lizards

I was walking along the trail just now, and I saw a lizard. And it occurred to me that these beings so unfriendly to the Spirits of the Birds might be the spirits that associate with the lizards. What do you think? Lizards do war quite a lot, and their voice is very different from that of the birds.

Around this time of day the lizards are out more, because there is a lot of bright sunlight. The Earth warms up.

I was just talking with the Spirit of a Bird, and I asked it what the Spirit of a Lizard sounds like. Here is what I heard: The Spirit of the Bird said: They have a weird sound! They have a weird sound!

And I said: What kind of sound?

And they said: A ‘boodie tailer’ sound. They have a ‘boodie tailer’ sound … like that.

You know, I am thinking about the lizards, and I think they must relate more to fire than to Earth … somewhat to Earth, because they walk along it, but they love a warm day … so maybe both Fire and Earth for lizards.

But that is not true of the entire reptile kingdom [loosely speaking; technically reptiles constitute a ‘Class’ of beings] because we have snakes. And in this kind of place … here in California … snakes like to be out at night in the summertime, because it is so hot during the day.

I was listening to a bird while I was looking at that lizard there, and the Spirit of the Bird said: It is faster than a bird, faster than a bird! It is faster than a bird!

Why Am I Hearing from the Spirits of the Birds Right Now?

I was walking along the path, and I asked the same Spirit of a Bird: Why is it that I’m hearing from the Spirits of the Birds right now?

And the Spirit said: Om Ma, Om Ma, Om Ma, Om Ma! That’s why you hear the Spirits of the Birds!

I was just talking to the same Spirit of a Bird, and I said: What kind of bird is that?

And it said: Thrasher, thrasher, thrasher. It’s that kind of bird.

Spirits of the Air and the Gentle Breeze of Early Morning

It is 10:30 am, and I was walking up the trail, chanting under my breath, to myself: Om Ma, Om Ma … with each step. And one of the Spirits to whom I have been talking said: Don’t chant that right now, because the Spirits of the Air aren’t there.

And I said: Where are they?

And it said: They’re asleep.

So I got to thinking that early in the morning there may be more of a breeze than at 10:30 am, and it may be easier for the Spirits of the Birds and the Spirits of the Air to talk?

This is all a mystery to me. And I expect you all to resolve it, because I may not ever be able to. Please let me know if you figure it out. I would really like to know.

Mid-Morning: Spirits of the Birds Chat with Spirits of the Lizards

I was about to stop talking, and I put my camcorder down, and then I heard one of the beings that I have been hearing say: Boodie holer, boodie holer, boodie holer!

And I said: Who is that? [meaning: Who is that speaking to me?]

And it said: The Spirit of the Bird!

And I said: I thought that those beings were asleep right now.

And it said: The Spirits of the Air! We like the Spirits of the Air!

So after the Spirits of the Air depart, when the air is very calm, then it seems … now I know … that the Spirits of the Birds will chat along with the Spirits of the Lizards … of which [lizards] there are various kinds here on the trail today.

Early morning, it seems, is a good time to take a look for lizards, here in Southern California.

Sidebar: How Birds, Reptiles, and Amphibians Express Joy in Mating

As to the terms ‘boodie tailer’ and ‘boodie holer’, I wonder if these may have to do with the posterior orifice of all birds, reptiles, and amphibians that is known as a ‘cloaca’. This unique orifice allows urine and feces to pass from the body. It also serves as reproductive opening.

Thus the terms ‘boodie’ might refer to the anatomy of birds, reptiles, and amphibians. In that regard this term may be a joyful descriptive conferred by the Spirits of the Birds on all three sorts of beings.

Just possibly, the term ‘boodie tailer’ might refer to lizards, or maybe the Spirits of the Lizards; and the term ‘boodie holer’ might refer to birds, or maybe the Spirits of the Birds.

I have found very interesting information on nature spirits amongst the writings of the School of Theosophy. For some of this, one must go to the source, as it is still under copyright. As well, I have found a good source of information, from C.W. Leadbeater of the School of Theosophy, regarding the nature spirits, that is in the public domain. In the below excerpt, I have bolded what seemed more important from my own perspective …

THEOSOPHIST C.W. LEADBEATER ON NATURE SPIRITS

3. Nature-Spirits of all Kinds.

“So many and so varied are the subdivisions of this class that to do them anything like justice one would need to devote a separate treatise to this subject alone. Some characteristics, however, they all have in common, and it will be sufficient here to try to give some idea of those.

“To begin with, we have to realize that we are here dealing with entities which differ radically from all that we have hitherto considered.

“Though we may rightly classify the elemental essence and the animal Kâmarûpa as non-human, the monadic essence which manifests itself through them will, nevertheless, in the fullness of time, evolve to the level of manifesting itself through some future humanity comparable to our own, and if we were able to look back through countless ages on our own evolution in previous manvantaras, we should find that that which is now ourselves has passed on its upward path through similar stages.

“That, however, is not the case with the vast kingdom of nature-spirits; they neither have been, nor ever will be, members of a humanity such as ours; their line of evolution is entirely different, and their [p. 58] only connection with us consists in our temporary occupancy of the same planet.

“Of course since we are neighbours for the time being we owe neighbourly kindness to one another when we happen to meet, but our lines of development differ so widely that each can do but little for the other.

“Many writers have included these spirits among the elementals, and indeed they are the elementals (or perhaps, to speak more accurately, the animals) of a higher evolution.

“Though much more highly developed than our elemental essence, they have yet certain characteristics in common with it; for example, they also are divided into seven great classes, inhabiting respectively the same seven states of matter already mentioned as permeated by the corresponding varieties of the essence.

“Thus, to take those which are most readily comprehensible to us, there are spirits of the earth, water, air, and fire (or ether)—definite intelligent astral entities residing and functioning in each of those media.

“It may be asked how it is possible for any kind of creature to inhabit the solid substance of a rock, or of the crust of the earth. The answer is that since the nature-spirits are formed of astral matter, the substance of the rock is no hindrance to their motion or their vision, and furthermore physical matter in its solid state is their natural element—the only one to which they are accustomed and in which they feel at home.

“The same is of course true of those who live in water, air or ether. In medieval literature, these earth-spirits are often called gnomes, while the water-spirits are spoken of as ûndinés, the air-spirits as sylphs, and the ether-spirits as salamanders.

“In popular language they are known by many names—fairies, pixies, elves, brownies, peris, djinns [jinns], trolls, satyrs, fauns, kobolds, imps, goblins, good people, etc.—some of these titles being applied only to one variety … [p 59] and others indiscriminately to all.

Their forms are many and various, but most frequently human in shape and somewhat diminutive in size. Like almost all inhabitants of the astral plane, they are able to assume any appearance at will, but they undoubtedly have definite forms of their own, or perhaps we should rather say favourite forms, which they wear when they have no special object in taking any other. Of course under ordinary conditions they are not visible to physical sight at all, but they have the power of making themselves so by materialization when they wish to be seen.

“There are an immense number of subdivisions or races among them, and individuals of these subdivisions differ in intelligence and disposition precisely as human beings do.

“The great majority of them apparently prefer to avoid man altogether; his habits and emanations are distasteful to them, and the constant rush of astral currents set up by his restless, ill-regulated desires disturbs and annoys them.

“On the other hand instances are not wanting in which nature-spirits have as it were made friends with human beings and offered them such assistance as lay in their power, as in the well-known stories told of the Scotch brownies or of the fire-lighting fairies mentioned in spiritualistic literature.

“This helpful attitude, however, is comparatively rare, and in most cases when they come in contact with man they either show indifference or dislike, or else take an impish delight in deceiving him and playing childish tricks upon him.

“Many a story illustrative of this curious characteristic may be found among the village gossip of the peasantry in almost any lonely mountainous district, and any one who has been in the habit of attending séances for physical phenomena will recollect instances of practical joking and silly though usually good-natured horseplay, which always indicate the presence of … [p 60] some of the lower orders of the nature-spirits.

“They are greatly assisted in their tricks by the wonderful power which they possess of casting a glamour over [that is, hypnosis or mesmerization of] those who yield themselves to their influence, so that such victims for the time see and hear only what these fairies impress upon them, exactly as the mesmerized subject sees, hears, feels and believes whatever the magnetizer wishes.

“The nature-spirits, however, have not the mesmerizer’s power of dominating the human will, except in the case of quite unusually weak-minded people, or of those who allow themselves to fall into such a condition of helpless terror that their will is temporarily in abeyance; they cannot go beyond deception of the senses, but of that art they are undoubted masters, and cases are not wanting in which they have cast their glamour over a considerable number of people at once. It is by invoking their aid in the exercise of this peculiar power that some of the most wonderful feats of the Indian jugglers are performed—the entire audience being in fact hallucinated and made to imagine that they see and hear a whole series of events which have not really taken place at all.

“We might almost look upon the nature-spirits as a kind of astral humanity, but for the fact that none of them—not even the highest possess a permanent reincarnating individuality.

“Apparently therefore one point in which their line of evolution differs from ours is that a much greater proportion of intelligence is developed before permanent individualization takes place; but of the stages through which they have passed, and those through which they have yet to pass, we can know little.

“The life-periods of the different subdivisions vary greatly, some being quite short, others much longer than our human lifetime. We stand so entirely outside such a life as theirs that it is impossible for us to understand much about its conditions; but it appears on … [p 61] the whole to be a simple, joyous, irresponsible kind of existence, much such as a party of happy children might lead among exceptionally favourable physical surroundings.

“Though tricky and mischievous, they are rarely malicious unless provoked by some unwarrantable intrusion or annoyance; but as a body they also partake to some extent of the universal feeling of distrust for man, and they generally seem inclined to resent somewhat the first appearance of a neophyte on the astral plane, so that he usually makes their acquaintance under some unpleasant or terrifying form. If, however, he declines to be frightened by any of their freaks, they soon accept him as a necessary evil and take no further notice of him, while some among them may even after a time become friendly and manifest pleasure on meeting him.

Some among the many subdivisions of this class are much less childlike and more dignified than those we have been describing, and it is from these sections that the entities who have sometimes been reverenced under the name of wood-gods, or local village-gods, have been drawn. Such entities would be quite sensible of the flattery involved in the reverence shown to them, would enjoy it, and would no doubt be quite ready to do any small service they could in return. (The village-god is also often an artificial entity, but that variety will be considered in its appropriate place.)

The Adept knows how to make use of the services of the nature-spirits when he requires them, but the ordinary magician can obtain their assistance only by processes either of invocation or evocation—that is, either by attracting their attention as a suppliant and making some kind of bargain with them, or by endeavouring to set in motion influences which would compel their obedience.
