In tenor of its beingness, it seemed to me to be quite similar to the Ifrit that is the topic of this image. The ifrit I encountered those many years ago caused me a knee injury while I hiked towards its place of enchainment. It did this, I feel, purely out of spite at having been chained to that spot a long time prior. The good powers of the air had enchained this spiteful being for causing the death of two lovers who had been parked in an automobile on that spot. It did so by creating in them a turmoil of deep despair, and a raging at this awful feeling, until they destroyed themselves rather than endure in that hellish thrall. Though none but I knew of it, the bodies of the two luckless lovers were buried on the ground to which the ifrit was chained. Some weeks after my encounter with the ifrit … after my knee had healed … I brought a friend and his daughter on an arduous hike … on a trail frequented not by people but by deer and coyote, by rabbits and skunks and the like … to view the site and let me know their psychic impressions. The daughter, who is quite intuitive, and a healer, noticed right away the tenor of the locale, and her father seconded her on that. I feel it must take a mage who is powerful beyond imagining to force such a being to his bidding. I feel no good might come of such an attempt; that is my thought about it. –Alice B. Clagett

Dear Ones,

Here is my personal account of an encounter with a bad genie … an ifrit of the most evil demeanor anyone can imagine …

I ran across a bad genie (an ifrit) three decades or so ago in the Santa Monica Mountains of Southern California. In tenor of its beingness, it seemed to me to be quite similar to the Ifrit that is the topic of the above image. The bad genie I encountered those many years ago caused me a knee injury while I hiked towards its place of enchainment. It did this, I feel, purely out of spite at having been chained to that spot a long time prior.

The good powers of the air had chained down this overlarge, spiteful being for causing the death of two lovers who had been parked in an automobile on that spot. It did so by creating in them a turmoil of deep despair, and a raging at this awful feeling, until they destroyed themselves rather than endure in that hellish thrall. Though none but I knew of it, the bodies of the two luckless lovers were buried in a rusted, rumpled automobile in a pit in whose bottommost depths that odious ifrit was chained.

Some weeks after my encounter with the ifrit … after my knee had healed … I brought a friend and his daughter on an arduous hike … on a trail frequented not by people but by deer and coyote, by rabbits and skunks and the like … to view the site and let me know their psychic impressions. The daughter, who is quite intuitive, and a healer, noticed right away the tenor of the locale, and her father seconded her on that.

I feel it must take a mage who is powerful beyond imagining to force such a being as that loathesome entity … filled as he was from the tip of his long, curly toenails to the topmost strand of his dark, spikey hair … to do his bidding (as was the case in the story behind the image above). I feel no good might come of such an attempt; that is my thought about it.

Who is Dharm Darshan? Dharm Darshan is me, Alice Clagett! Why is that?

My spiritual name from my 3HO (Healthy, Happy, Holy Organization) days is ‘Dharm Darshan Kaur Khalsa.’ Sometimes folks, in their thoughts, abbreviate and mispronounce this (either with affection or with distaste) as “Darm Doo” or “Darn Darsh” and so on. I prefer the Indian language pronunciation.

In the ancient Indian language known as Gurmukhi, there is a consonant ‘d’, which is pronounced rather like the English ‘d’. But then in Gurmukhi there is also the consonant ‘dh’.

The way to say it is to begin to speak the letter ‘d’, but with a little outrush or puff of air through the mouth at the same time. Tricky!

The word ‘Dharm’ means ‘dharma’ … the path of righteousness … the ‘right’ path … as opposed to the path of ‘karma’.

The path of karma is to get one’s kudos and rewards, and one’s knocks and kicks from life, as a result of one’s wrong or right actions in the world.

There was a popular TV show once called “Greg and Dharma.” The female star of the show had the same name as the first name in my spiritual name.

However my first name, back then, was not just ‘Dharm’ but ‘Dharm Darshan.’ There is this other word ‘Darshan,’ which means to learn from a spiritual teacher.

So then I translate the Gurmukhi name ‘Dharm Darshan,’ for my personal understanding, as “the one who walks the ‘right’ path and listens to the Divine Teacher within.”

The word ‘Kaur’ means ‘princess’ and used to be the middle name of all the women who asked for spiritual names from Yogi Bhajan, the founder of 3HO.

The word ‘Khalsa’ means ‘society of pure ones’. It is the name Yogi Bhajan gave to all the people, both male and female, who asked him for a spiritual name.

A spiritual name is something one strives to live up to all one’s life long. It expresses the longing of our Soul for expression in human form, and the hope of our Soul to strive to fulfill its Soul mission in this lifetime.

It is true, I am a Christian. Nevertheless, I still treat my spiritual name with respect. Yogi Bhajan and his staff had quite a knack about them, of seeing deeply into the spiritual truth of things. I feel they judged well in giving me my spiritual name. I am grateful to be known, in the heavenly realms, as Dharm Darshan Kaur Khalsa.

WHORE IN A RED LIGHT DISTRICT OF AN ORIENTAL PORT TOWN?

About 7 April 2022, Thursday — In the afternoon I went to the back fence in my backyard to clear the weeds and make small repairs on the fence. Behind my back fence is a steep hill belonging to the neighbors below. The house to their left has a swimming pool in the backyard.

From where I was standing I could hear quite a commotion in the pool. I could only see the righthand part of the lefthand neighbor’s pool because of the small trees running down the hill along the property line between my two down-the-hill neighbors. There were big waves of water in the pool. There was a surpassingly loud, enthusiastic voice of a child or woman yelling over and over again: Let’s have sex! Let’s have sex right now!
